We have been using Freelo in our sports club for two months. Our main goal is to make sure that no task is forgotten. Since we manage the club on a voluntary basis alongside our regular jobs, it is important for us to organize tasks, assign responsibility, and keep track of deadlines. At the moment, we especially appreciate the templates and recurring tasks. They help us standardize routine activities and manage regular monthly operations more efficiently. So far, Freelo has been working well for us. However, two months is still a relatively short period of time to make an overall judgment.

Pros

Freelo is easy to set up and use, even for non-technical users. It helps us organize all the tasks in our sports club and assign responsibility for them. We use it to organize tasks into projects and to-do lists. For managing recurring processes, recurring tasks and templates work perfectly.

Cons

Freelo offers a wide range of ways to organize projects, to-do lists, tasks, subtasks, and checklists. However, for inexperienced users, or for those who do not want to spend too much time learning the system, this flexibility can be a bit confusing at first.

Freelo helps solve the problem of scattered notes and task management. Instead of using paper notes or keeping tasks in different places, I can have everything organized clearly in one place, which gives me a much better overview of all my tasks and deadlines.

Pros

What I like best about Freelo is that I can easily keep track of all tasks assigned to me, and the timeline view helps me clearly see what deadlines and tasks are coming up next.

Cons

What I dislike about Freelo is the different pricing tiers. Even though I already pay for it, some features are still locked behind a higher plan, and it often pushes me to upgrade and pay more.

I’ve been working with Freelo for several years now. When we used it as a volunteer organization, it was financially demanding for us. I think it’s a good tool for any type of project; it’s well-organized and easy to navigate. The reminders and notifications need some tweaking, but you’ll figure that out quickly.

Pros

Freelo has a user-friendly interface. It’s easy to navigate and works well in a team environment. A newcomer will quickly get the hang of it.

Cons

I find it impractical, especially for longer-term projects, that completed tasks are completely hidden. I also miss a feature that would allow users to easily search through completed projects.

I must admit that I got to work with Freelo a few years ago when I returned from parental leave - out team had been working in Freelo for some time then and I felt like a boomer, completely lost. May be, that is when I built some kind of refusal and dissatisfaction with it. After several years, I was made to start again with it. Now I got to watch some introductory videos which had not been instroduced to me before, which I enjoy. I think it is really useful for those who are that much organised that they manage to make a clear structure in their tasks... (which I might not be :-)

Pros

It helps you have an overview, the check-boxes are great. I believe that for someone who needs to keep trace of time spent on each project, the function of measuring time is adorable too. There are three levels of tasks, you can write instructions when creating the task as well as write comments during carrying out of the task. But for a (all-time?) beginner, there are maybe just too many options and functions. I believe that once you take your time and set everything the way you may need, it will work great for you.

Cons

Honestly, I do not find it very intuitive. I am afraid I still do not use it the way it could be used. For me, it might take just too much time and effort to personalise all the settings so that I could make the most out of it... I tried to integrate it with Microsoft Outlook calendar but unsuccessfully which demotivated me to try the more advanced settings... Also, I often find myself struggling (and overly thinking) where to put a sub-task - hesitating between two tasks/categories on a higher level... But all of that might be just my personal problem, my incapability.

Switched from

[Microsoft Planner](https://www.capterra.com/p/227201/Microsoft-Planner/)

My boss / our team decided. I did not really agree with the switch, I prefer having stuff with one provider, and that may be the problem why I am not overly satisfied with Freelo... O:-)

Overall, my experience with Freelo has been very positive. It has helped me bring structure and clarity into both my work and personal projects, which used to feel quite scattered before. I especially value how easy it is to use and how quickly I was able to get started without any training. It allows me to manage multiple projects at once, stay on top of tasks, and keep communication in one place. This has made my work on larger projects, including those for nonprofits, much more efficient. What I appreciate the most is the sense of control and overview it gives me. Instead of constantly searching for information or worrying that I might miss something, I can rely on one system and focus on getting things done.

Pros

What I appreciate most about Freelo is how well it keeps everything organized when collaborating with others. It’s very easy to see who is responsible for each task, and the clear status updates (in progress vs. completed) make the whole process much more transparent. I also like that it significantly reduces the need for constant email communication. Since everything is in one place, there’s less risk of missing important information or making mistakes because something got lost in an inbox.

Cons

If I had to point out one thing that could be improved, it would be the homepage layout. I’d personally prefer a more visual, tile-based overview of projects so I can quickly get a sense of everything at a glance. The filtering system is really solid and flexible, and I understand why it works well for many users. For me, though, a more “helicopter view” would be more helpful – something like a dashboard where I can see multiple projects and their key tasks without needing to set up filters first. When I’m managing several projects at once, I sometimes miss that high-level overview that helps me stay fully oriented. A more visual and summary-focused dashboard would make the experience even smoother for me.

Overall, Freelo is a great simple tool if you want to stay organized without spending too much time managing the tool itself. My needs are generally simple and structured so it fully satisfies my needs and the involvement in the different projects and teams.

Pros

I use Freelo for managing projects across a small team working on communications, events, and written outputs. I joined Freelo because the other team members involved in the project used it and because I needed something that would bring structure without being too complicated. I like that it is intuitive, visual and easy to switch from one project to another. It is also great that we can comment directly under tasks and tag colleagues. The communication is much easier and fluid, we don´t need emails. I am grateful for the reminders and options to have an overview of priorities. Customer support has been responsive and proactive, trying to show me all the richness and functionalities of the tool.

Cons

Sometimes you get lost in comments given to tasks and subtasks by other team members (comments in different threads).

I work for a nonprofit organization where we spend the entire year working on just one large project. It really helps me to organize individual tasks, which I then just need to assign. All I need is to have the app installed, and everyone else immediately knows what to do.

Pros

The ability to plan each step of the project. I like the ability to select specific tasks for specific groups of people or individuals.

Cons

It isn't entirely intuitive; beginners can easily get lost. In the app: if I assign a task and want to go back, it takes me back to the main menu.

Despite the initial adjustment period, Freelo is a great tool for keeping track of important information, completing tasks on time, and maintaining an overview of a project.

Pros

Freelo is a tool that has made our organization’s operations much clearer. We now have all the information in one place and no longer need to spend time searching for where things are stored or where to find them. Collaboration across team members is now smoother.

Cons

Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in a task, especially when multiple people are commenting on it, adding more and more subtasks, or referring only to parts of previous comments.

Freelo is a useful project management tool that helps keep tasks and communication organized in one place. Freelo offers practical features for planning and tracking team work, which can make day-to-day organization easier. It’s especially appreciated by those looking for a more structured approach to project management.

Pros

tasks overview, hierarchy, "done" button, communication with team members at the task, direct links to the documents

Cons

It could have more under to-do-lists and easier dashboard - we do not need so many functions. :-) However, there were news from Freelo and I have not read them all yet.

I have been working with Freelo for several months now. I am satisfied. It is clear, notifications are sent both to mobile and email, including daily reports. Variable and maximum notification settings.

Pros

Layers of projects, to-do lists and tasks. Possibility of sharing to other projects. Connection to Google projects.

Cons

Detailed Export to PDF, which is what the competition allows. Conversion to paper form is not possible.
