### "Freelo in culture"

November 14, 2024

5.0

I use Freelo for planning and realizing cultural events. I have been working in culture for over 20 years. During this time I have developed a system of work that has continuously profiled and worked. The moment our performance team started to expand, it was time to find a way to streamline our collective work. Replace email communication, etc. Freelo came along and we started setting up projects, templates and finding the right way to set up the project and teach the team how to work with it, which I think is the hardest part of the transition. The moment the projects are fine-tuned, the work becomes more efficient quickly. After a year of use, I wouldn't change.

Pros

Freelo delivers what it promises. Teamwork on projects is clearer and faster. The important thing is to find a right way to set up projects so it's helpful and not bothersome.

Cons

This is not exactly a negative, but the initial setup of complex projects requires a lot of effort and time.

### "A great tool for event managers"

October 1, 2024

5.0

For a long time, we in the team were looking for a suitable tool to manage our events. We organize conferences and fairs. We switched to Freelo and it helped us keep a great overview of tasks and simplified communication in our team. Overall, we use Freelo every day and currently can't imagine working without it. I think every event manager should use Freelo because it simplifies his work when planning his events - whether it's small events, workshops, full-day conferences or fairs for 5000 people.

Pros

We use Freelo for organizing events, it's a great tool for event managers. We prefer: - mobile application and notification of deadlines (the application notifies us of deadlines and new comments and activity in tasks) - overviews of tasks and the possibility of filtering overviews (maintains an overview of deadlines and work in the team and on tasks where the deadline is approaching) - task templates for repetitive tasks (simplifies work when we do some tasks repeatedly, so we can prepare a template that we duplicate) - notes and wiki (possibility to make notes on events and give important information for the whole team) - for each task, the possibility of discussion in the thread (removes unnecessary communication in the chat in the team) - for each task, the possibility to link related tasks (possibility of links between tasks)

Cons

Overall, Freelo suits us perfectly for our work. The only thing that I initially thought was a disadvantage is that in the Freelo application you cannot assign multiple solvers to one task. However, after working with Freelo for a longer time, I found out that it is such a great feature - because only one person in the team must be responsible for one task at a time (he has the responsibility to solve it) and if the task concerns other people in the team, then in the application Freelo set up more followers. So this work-flow helps us with the right principles of project management = one task = one responsible person. (if the task is solved by several people in the team, more followers can be set). Overall, this helps us to keep the responsibilities in the team right.

Reason for choosing Freelo

Before switching to Freelo, we were using Trello and considered whether to stay with it, but the list of things Trello can't do motivated us to switch to Freelo. In retrospect, we evaluate this decision as correct and it helped us a lot for better work-flow and clarity in the team. The main reasons for the switch were: - the possibility to make task templates in Freelo and use them repeatedly - clearer and more customizable work-flow - the ability to filter task overviews - clearer communication and discussion in the task thread in Freelo - the ability to record the screen and send screen samples or voice messages to people in the team - the ability to create wikis and notes - possibility to track the time of tasks - better notifications thanks to the application - Freelo is designed for better project management

We used the Trello app before switching to Freelo. Trello was not suitable for our workflow. For us as event managers, Freelo offers us better control over the workflow and greater clarity. As we organize more conferences, we can keep track of tasks. Freelo also helps us simplify our work and we can create task templates for our events, which is a key feature for us as we do many tasks repeatedly with each conference. What we like about Freelo is that it has all the features in one app. Here we have tasks, wikis, documents, reports, we can track our time and we can also communicate in Frello. We used Slack for team communication, which we were able to stop using thanks to Freelo. Because all discussions can be clearly solved in Freelo for specific tasks, so it will replace unnecessary communication in another application. This simplified our overall work-flow.

### "Freelo is cool."

November 21, 2024

5.0

Easy communication with my colleagues. Clear assignment of tasks and their control. Possibility of automatic assignment, using Freelo as a diary. I enjoy using it every day. The support is perfect with simple online manuals. Implementation is easy. Integration into our team went smoothly.

Pros

I use Freelo every day, less than a year on a daily basis. Freelo is a very useful and clear application. Perfect tool for collective work. Sometimes I can't find a function, I have to spend some time searching for a specific function that is hidden in some submenu. For other team conversations we use WhatsUp, but it would be better to have the conversation right in Freelo - including images and other documents.

Cons

### "Put all our tasks in one place."

September 18, 2024

4.0

Freelo is really useful for a bigger number of team members when emails and phone calls are no longer sufficient. Works really well when you are not set up in one physical office and provides much better control of the tasks being done. The display of budget / worked hours and invested finances works really well for us. However, it takes some time for all the colleagues to adapt to the new environment, and it my opinion it would pay off to create a specialist "Freelo manager" who will create all projects and tasks templates and will, at least for some time, coordinate the correct run of the things, otherwise it becomes really messy as there is multiple ways to create, mark and organize tasks and projects and unless you make and order, no one else will.

Pros

I use Freelo to write down my working hours and navigate in my tasks on a daily basis. After nearly a year of experience I mainly appreciate its Czech interface which is a big advantage for us as some of our organization's members are not a functioning English speakers. In the Team version, I personally find it more than sufficient for us. Freelo is pretty intuitive to use and even if you struggle to find something, the "Search" function is surprisingly well set. I really like the possibility of writing down the working hours directly linked to the task.

Cons

The greatest disadvantage of Freelo from my perspective is its effort to serve as a universal platform for all companies and organizations. This leads to some vague display of tables that are pretty much useless to us (I also find the time measure gadget an overkill). This might work perfectly in some teams but it shows unnecessary for us. I personally would very much appreciate customizable homepage and tabs for better organization of projects (which can't be organized further, or at least I did not find a way to do so).

### "It works very well. "

September 5, 2024

5.0

It is easy to navigate in, easy to grasp. So I am thrilled my team actually uses this one :)

Pros

I like the overview of what the team is doing and what they work on. As the manager working with the remote colleagues, it is great to be notified whenever somebody actually clicks in the app and starts working on something or finishes the task. Personally I like the "personality" of the tool, it is light-hearted and fun. It makes it easier to recommend to team members. I also like the navigation and help of the team. We are Czech speaking entity and the native language narrative really helped to take in all the technicalities. It is very simple to use. Our team is quite diverse in age of the members and some of them are not in good relationship with the technical part of their jog. However, this system is really easy to use. Simple. So we love the fact that we actually use it. A nice change from the tools we tried before.

Cons

We use only the first stage of the paid licence. So no business modul. However, I do not know how to try it out within the trial period. It sort of works in the loop.

### "Really accelerated the way our NGO works."

September 16, 2024

4.0

We decided to switch to Freelo because our team has grown considerably and email communication was no longer effective. We needed something so that we didn't lose tasks and could better control they are done. At the same time, we needed to keep better track of budgets and work reports. Many things are still being tweaked and some colleagues are still getting used to it or they're outright boycotting it. :) It looks like it will save us money, even though it is a paid service.

Pros

We use it every day for one year. The biggest advantage is definitely its Czech interface, as this would be a big barrier for some of our colleagues (compared to Asana, which we tested earlier). We have the Team version and most of the features are sufficient for us. Very good customer support!

Cons

Obviously, the system is not completely set up for the system of functioning of NGOs. So we had to be quite creative and adapt it to make it usable for ours. Among the weaknesses I can mention: not quite perfect use of tags or inability to sort projects into smaller logical units. Less technically proficient colleagues have a problem with integration.

November 6, 2024

When the manager came up with this idea to start using Freelo, I was a little skeptical. I got into it pretty quickly and now I couldn't imagine working without this tool. It has increased our efficiency in the team. Each of us now knows what we are working on and also what the others are working on.

Pros

I like the clarity of the tasks and I love checking off what I have already completed. For projects, I can see all the uploaded files, notes, I can mark tasks by priority, etc.

### "Simply, Freelo is good, it has its uses and justification in our company."

October 28, 2024

4.0

We also use Freelo for recurring tasks as reminders, e.g. to check something regularly every week, or at the beginning of the month, etc. There are notifications for upcoming deadlines and you can set different view filters and save the filters, which makes everything easier.

Pros

As a means of sharing and scheduling tasks among the company's staff, it's great. We mainly use Freelo for assigning tasks between ourselves and freelancers. It allows us to have a better overview of projects, individual tasks and their completion. We keep track of everything there, communicate and write comments, so it's in one place and clear.
