Value for Money

Pros: I like Fastcases' citation checker feature. The software gives clear case mapping, allowing the user to determine whether a case is still good law.

Cons: The statute look-up feature is a bit cumbersome. It takes multiple steps to find previous versions of statutes, rather than intuitively linking to the appropriate version.

The Ford Taurus of legal research. Not glamorous, but gets you to the same destination.

Pros: I honestly think this should be shown to law students, not Westaw or Lexis. It's a much more positive experience to start with this and work your way up to the features that make these other products worth the money (allegedly). I rarely find the need to compare results with the higher end engines, and when I do, rarely do I get the results I hoped for.

Cons: I wish the interface was more clean. Oftentimes you are missing easy hits because the suggested replacement terms is clueless.
