It's easy to get started with, but there's also a surprising amount you can do once you learn the more advanced features. My only real issue is that because almost everyone uses it now, it's very easy to end up with designs that look generic or obviously Canva-made. Used properly and with enough customisation, though, it's an excellent design tool. Pros Canva makes it incredibly easy to create professional-looking designs without needing to be a designer. There's a huge range of templates and tools, but I think it really comes into its own once you move beyond the basic features. Once you learn some of the more advanced functionality, you can create some genuinely impressive work very quickly. Cons Canva has become so widely used that a lot of designs can start to look the same. It's like a much simpler version of Indesign or Photoshop (without all the special features of course, but with basic capabilities). I've used it to make flyers, printables, moodboards, photo grids, and handouts. Cons The premium features are frustrating - they're mixed in with the free ones so that if you have a free account, you have to wade through all the things you can't use to get to the ones you can. They're pushing AI way to much like many software platforms currently are as well, which is disappointing considering it's meant to be a design tool. Its customization options are not as advanced as those of professional software such as Illustrator. Pros In my creation and design work, I mainly use Canva when I need to quickly produce visuals for social media, presentations, or marketing materials. What I like about this tool is its simplicity. I also find the library of templates and graphic elements very useful when I need inspiration. Cons For me, the biggest advantage is its ease of use. I can start a project without needing extensive technical knowledge. The collaboration features are also useful when I need to share a design with a colleague or client.
