As a small business owner in South Africa I use it almost every week to create marketing materials. It is affordable with the free version, easy to learn without training, and helps me look professional to customers. I will continue using it and I recommend it to other small businesses who need quick designs. Pros I use Canva to design posters an price lists for my small side business in Johannesburg. What I like most is how easy it is to use on my phone and laptop, even with slow internet. The free templates for business posters and Instagram posts are very professional. It saves me money because I don't need to pay a designer. The drag and drop and image editing tools are vey simple for beginners. Cons The main downside is that many of the best templates and elements require Canva Pro which is expensive in Rands. Sometimes the website is slow to load and video editing is limited compared toother tools. Also offline access is not good, you need internet. I would not use any other company for what I needed. Canva was very user friendly and any time I was confused, I could easily get help through Canva. Pros I love how easy it is to create any type of item/document that I could dream of. I have made HUNDREDS of labels, flyers, banners, postcards, signs, and more. Cons It did get pretty expensive after a while. It was worth having the pro version though for all of the extra stuff that was available. We upgraded it so we can use the pro feature and use the image and video editing features. Cons I would appreciate them adding more stock photos. Although AI is there to help create ones that we need. Also, maybe add tutorial links as to how to use the new features that have would be amazing. Cons The abundance of templates is sometimes overwhelming... It's easy to get started with, but there's also a surprising amount you can do once you learn the more advanced features. My only real issue is that because almost everyone uses it now, it's very easy to end up with designs that look generic or obviously Canva-made. Used properly and with enough customisation, though, it's an excellent design tool. Pros Canva makes it incredibly easy to create professional-looking designs without needing to be a designer. There's a huge range of templates and tools, but I think it really comes into its own once you move beyond the basic features. Once you learn some of the more advanced functionality, you can create some genuinely impressive work very quickly. Cons Canva has become so widely used that a lot of designs can start to look the same. I can often spot when something has been made in Canva, particularly when people rely heavily on the standard templates. You need to spend a bit more time customising designs if you want your work or brand to stand out. A lot of stock photos and videos available to be downloaded and used. Cons Need to upgrade to pro member if you would like to enjoy the unlimited resources.
