I am very satisfied with the quality, user-friendly nature, and adaptability of this product. Pros I appreciate how user friendly this design website is. As someone who has to create content for my job, but has absolutely zero experience in design, every part of the software is easy to use and understand. They even make using the templates as fool-proof as possible. Cons Instead of a one-time fee to access all the primary features, it is a monthly subscription. Cons There isn't anything I dislike about Canva, it's an incredibly powerful tool that can be accessed from a browser for designing. Yes, it may take incremental adjustments to fine-tune the perfect graphic but WOW! Cons The one disadvantage is the available photos in the elements section. Although they are several to choose from, they tend to have the same people making it difficult to have a theme that doesn't seem to duplicate (if that makes sense). Pros Very easy to use, it ranges from skill levels so most will be able to use it and make professional looking marketing materials. Cons If im honest occasionally when you export graphics they can be a little more pixelated than i would like. But still fine for the average user and most of the time unnoticeable. I switched from Adobe for a simple experience. you can do practically any design, but with basic functionalities. The video editor, for example, has basic functionalities, but it's not what Canva is about, and that's the point—you can do practically any design, but with limited capabilities. Pros It's the best and most intuitive design tool for amateur users. It has pretty much every design feature a lay designer might need. Cons Basic AI. Cons Speaking of multimedia elements (photos, graphics, and so on...) you do not "own them" in your project. They are given to you with a commercial license. Pros The best part of Canva is how easily the templates provide inspiration for any web or print media we need to make. Those templates are perfect for quick mock-ups or for staff that have no design experience. Cons Comparing to the new affinity release (owned now by Canva) or any other major design software, the lack of layers means that object transformation, FX or even just moving and arranging can be infuriating. I love the feature that lets me edit pictures and videos. The customer support was really helpful when I could not get my socials synced. It is so easy to create a graphic from scratch using the elements library, and if I need inspiration I can always look at other people's templates. Canva is also surprisingly very good for animation if you know how to use it. Cons I dislike the push to use generative AI features, and I wish there was a way to disable this entirely. Pros As a busy Marketing team, we need a way to collaborate across teams and timezones, and to have all of our designs in one place and easily editable. The new AI features are also a welcome addition to speed up the time we spend on creating assets for use on social media and other digital platforms. I love that I can search any type of visual, and I can find tons of templates to get the creative juices flowing. I have previous experience, but no previous experience needed! It takes some getting used to like any app or digital program, but it is so versatile and useful for so many projects. Pros To be honest I was resistant to embrace Canva since I've been working with another big name full time for many years, but I do love that it is user friendly, or at the very least, much more "learnable" or even teachable than those other well-known programs are. Cons I wish I could find/create gridlines more easily. Sometimes I cant find the center and it usually takes me awhile to apply gridlines or rulers.
