I can create professional-quality materials in a fraction of the time it used to take me. The true bonus, however, is that it is so intuitive. Any one with baseline software experience will easily pick it up in a short period. Pros The Canva AI is simply incredible. Yes, it may take incremental adjustments to fine-tune the perfect graphic but WOW! Cons The one disadvantage is the available photos in the elements section. Although they are several to choose from, they tend to have the same people making it difficult to have a theme that doesn't seem to duplicate (if that makes sense). Pros Being able to edit templates and create business announcement flyers are my favorite things about Canva. I was using the free version which was too limited, but since I switched to Pro that solved everything. Cons Canva Free is mostly there to attract users and show them what they can get with a subscription plan. It's not really a con if they still provide quality products even on the free version. Cons Comparing to the new affinity release (owned now by Canva) or any other major design software, the lack of layers means that object transformation, FX or even just moving and arranging can be infuriating. Cons There are times when I wish there were more image options for a specific idea or word search. Their AI tool helps with this, but sometimes there is a specific lack of images for an idea I have. I switched from Adobe for a simple experience. you can do practically any design, but with basic functionalities. The video editor, for example, has basic functionalities, but it's not what Canva is about, and that's the point—you can do practically any design, but with limited capabilities. Pros It's the best and most intuitive design tool for amateur users. It has pretty much every design feature a lay designer might need. Cons Basic AI. It allows you to operate as a one woman team to support wider initiatives very easily, and I really enjoy all the features. It supports you in figuring out different graphic sizes and it helps you edits any preexisting images. I also really enjoy the color features where you can match colors to a graphic. Cons I've never really had major issues with Canva, and when I have, customer support has been amazing. I always have a positive experience, try new things, play with ideas easily, and each thing I've made has always worked wonderfully. Pros This is a must go to for teachers. You can easily make awards, study lists, slide presentations with an extra bit of oomph like striking graphics and such. Saved projects can easily be found, copied, reworked for a different idea. You can find templates based on criteria you want to include and eliminate the slides, or pages, that you don't want. The templates are easily adapted to your needs, and often give you great ideas when you weren't sure what you wanted to create. This program goes WAY beyond useful, not just for educators. If you are a creator (Etsy, etc) you can easily design digital products to sell, you can create cut files if you are a cricut or silhouette user. You can design sticker sets to print and cut. You can upload your own images and adjust them to your needs. I often do this to create a geometry test because graphics are otherwise difficult to copy and use in a document. Just upload an create a slide presentation, which you can then download as a pdf in 8.5 x 11 inch form for printing! Amazing!! Need a whiteboard, a spreadsheet, a card??? It's all here!. A new thing I've noticed but haven't tried is it now enables/helps you to design a website! How cool is that?! You can remove a background from a photo you've uploaded, and then let your imagination soar! I could continue to praise this product but you must try it for yourself.
