Such an innovative and timesaving feature. Canva also already have amazing design templates to work on or get inspired by. Typically a class size in a workshop I teach is around 15 learners, and in that environment I've never had negative feedback on an image shared. It's fast to get started using it and in my view is fairly intuitive, agnostic to your background with technology. Pros In my part-time job as an adjunct instructor, Canva has been our go-to when creating all manner of Infographics. It's the speed of creation which makes it our preference. In my experience it's a fast tool to pick up and start creating with, and then you can get as detailed as you like once the basics are covered. Templates make creation faster, as they're easily customized to whatever content you focus on. As an example, I once created a test-case, and it was promoting a comic book series! The Canva template didn't have anything to do with comics, yet the content flow worked incredibly well for the story I wanted to tell. Cons As always with software like this, the free version has limitations vs. the paid subscription. But, that's to be expected. In general, as it's not meant to be the highest quality design software, some alignment issues are there as well as always matching colors to an existing brand guide. For somebody who’s not tech-savvy and has no experience in design whatsoever, I was still able to create amazing designs that completely exceeded my expectations. Pros What I like most is that there are so many awesome templates and tools all in one place! It’s super convenient because I don’t have to waste time searching elsewhere, and I can easily create exactly what I need and make it look amazing! Cons For someone like me who can get a little distracted, it’s annoying when I add images or graphics and don’t realize they’re from the paid version until I try to download the design. I have enjoyed it when it works, but have been frustrated when it doesn't do what I want it to do - especially with "blank" documents where I need to do my own layout. Pros I love the vast array of templates available. Cons I really struggle to design something if I want to start from scratch. I wish the design tools were more intuitive. I consider myself very tech savvy, but it's really hard to navigate the tools to get it to do what you want it to do if there's not an existing template. It's also hard to know sometimes why certain features are free and some aren't. Specifically, the inability to resize the page on a free account is particularly annoying.
