It is easy to design what you need and download into an image or a pdf. I use Canva for both personal and business tasks. Pros Canva is very user friendly to use and has thousands of ideas to help get you started. I love the graphics options and the ability to make anything in whatever colors and fonts I need to match my brand. Educators are also able to have Canva Pro for free which is a huge bonus. Pros Whether or not you are proficient with more sophisticated design tools, Canva is the quickest way of making high-quality designs for print or digital use. What used to take me 30 minutes in an Adobe program can be done to the same quality standard in 10 minutes using Canva. Cons The organizational tools are weak. There's a basic folder system. Search is unsophisticated, but it can search content within a design, which is nice. I wish I could tag files. Canva has way more templates and elements, which are key for quickly generating content. If you are relying on Ai-generated images for your content creation. Adobe Express might be the better pick. Pros Having worked on my own, I found that Canva was very simple to work with in creating promo pieces and photo editing. Its drag-and-drop functionality eliminates my technical design expertise or costly software, and I love working with its templates for instant client pitches and branding projects. Cons Some of its best functionality and features are Pro subscription only, which isn't perfect if you have limited funds in a small studio. Cons There are certain limitations in terms of setting up and creating websites, especially if payment setups (use of credit/debit cards etc.) are required. Canva is a fantastic option if you are using it make cute visuals or to even make cute decor for your own home etc. I frequently use Canva to help build my own designs of my circuiting projects, which makes bringing my craft ideas to real life so much easier. When using Canva there is a little bit of a learning curve but there are plenty of tutorials online that will help you become a Canva pro! Pros I love using Canva to make visually appealing charts and designs. I used Canva a lot when making charts or visual aides for my clients at work and I used it to make nearly all the printable decor for my wedding. Cons I do not feel like Canva is very user friendly when you are starting out and it is very challenging to use the design platforms if you do not pay for the subscriptions. November 27, 2025 4.0 I have had an extremely positive experience with canva, I’ve used it for years, through different jobs, for personal use, and I have never felt let down or frustrated by it. I would never look to a rival app because canva has everything I want and need. Pros Being able to create posters, logos, gift vouchers, and lots of other advertisements for my business for free is a game changer. Even with the free version you have more than enough tools to create things with your own flair and vision. Being able to search for templates with key words is a brilliant system also. Cons I found that recently a good chunk of images/stickers have been moved to the paid version which can be disappointing sometimes. Huge advantage that if you upload a high resolution vector or a PNG, it will keep the original quality. Cons I think I'd like more options for animations and frame transitions. The templates make it easy to produce polished work fast, and I consistently get great feedback on how professional my materials look. Pros The templates are a lifesaver! I'm not naturally creative, but Canva gives me a head start and instant inspiration. The built-in apps (stock photos, icons, background remover, mockups, etc.) make my designs look like they were done by a pro, without the learning curve. It’s truly drag and drop simple, and for what I get out of it, it’s absolutely worth the price. Cons The search can feel overloaded. Template results come like a firehose, with lots of near duplicates and too few filters (like style or aspect ratio). Organization could be tidier. Pros Canva is a must have platform for contemporary design! It allows you to create amazing creative and professional materials that look amazing without the time and use of Photoshop that once upon a time was necessary. I love the existing templates but also that you can customize your own template. I also like that you can create teams and invite individuals to view and edit documents with you. It really is a one stop shop for everything creative and design-forward that saves a significant amount of time. Cons My least favourite feature is how difficult is can be to search and find certain elements to add into your designs since the AI feature is not fully integrated and advanced yet. I own my own business, and I love that it has saved my projects for me over the years. I can go back and re-use them, and it's an fantastic timeline. I love how it saves your branding information too. And, now you can share designs which is a wonderful feature. Pros Is there anything that Canva can't do? As a designer I love being able to make small to large projects in this wonder, simple to use, but also maximize it's potential product. Cons I love Canva and value how expansive it has become. It really can do everything. But, latelly, I feel like it may be taking on too much -- and providding too many features. Pros Canva has been such a fantastic image editing software, especially as someone who worked in marketing for a school. It's so easy to just pick up and use, and the features are endless, especially with a school pro subscription. It's 100% worth the money, as I was also able to do minor video editing touch ups without needing to use a full on editing software. Cons I think the thing I like least about Canva is that it's collaboration tools aren't the greatest, especially when one or more coworkers or collaborators don't have great internet access. Pros Canva software is constantly evolving to provide customers with tools to design items without any previous design skill or knowledge. It's incredibly intuitive and user-friendly. The auto-save feature is invaluable, ensuring your design progress is never lost. Cons The AI features are new and still in Beta phase so they still have quite a few kinks to work out. Additionally, it would be helpful to be able to resize just one page within a design, not having to resize all pages at once. The all-or-nothing aspect of this makes it hard to design multiple sizes of one document (i.e. designing a poster you want to be printed both in landscape and portrait).
