September 14, 2022 5.0 Pros I love that pretty much anything I need to design for my small business can be done in Canva! I love that I can import my logo fonts and colors. I like that I can pick color palettes. I like the fact that there’s extra features for pro. I was ecstatic when they added the social media scheduler. The price point is fabulous! Cons I wish that Mac short cuts worked in Canva on my iPad. For example I cannot use Ctrl + C to copy an element and then use Ctrl + V to paste that element somewhere else. I have my iPad hooked up to a Belkin keypad and it does not work on the keypad nor does it work on the iPad directly when I pull up the keypad. And obviously the same issue applies to my iPhone. It would be brilliant if when a user creates a new color for a project a.k.a. a color that is not already in the available pallets or brand pallet the user could say click on the color box and star of that color to their favorites. Currently even if you click on a color box you do not see the code for the color. But writing down color codes it is complicated and annoying. Being able to save colors to favorites would be AMAZING!!! The designs for each are very different in appearance. However for each website I create blog images, marketing designs as well as social media images to use in my marketing. Pros I love this software to keep my brand consistent throughout all of my images and marketing design. I love that I can create images for any social media platform in a snap. I also love that I can reuse designs from past projects and simple change out images or a few other items quickly. Canva makes it really easy to keep my colors and fonts consistent on all my designs. I also love that I can upload my own images and it keeps them in my folder. They also have a lot of free images, vectors and graphics that I can use when I'm looking for a particular look or design. It's nice having it right there rather than having to upload an image or graphic. Cons I wish it were easier to organize my uploaded images within Canva. I spend a lot of time sifting through my previously uploaded images to find what I need. I know I can organize it more with the paid version, but I I haven't opted in for that quite yet. I also wish there were a way to import the images I create right to Google Drive. I have to download the image and then upload it to where I want to use it right now. I've been using canva for over 5 years now, designing social media posts and banners, posters and other marketing collateral. At the beginning of your paid for service, Canva ask for your brand colours and company logos allowing you to make branded designs very quickly and effortlessly. For those in my team who do not have adequate training or experience on Adobe Indesign for example, Canva has given them enough agency to help advance their design skills overall. It's been a great design tool and instructions are very clear for new users. It is without a doubt, one of my most valuable and most exploited marketing tool that I use. Pros I really enjoy how intuitive this software is. Essentially, it utilised a drag-and-drop format and provides easy access to photographs, vectors, graphics, and fonts. Some of these you may need to purchase, however the cost is similar to what you would pay on Shutterstock. I recommend Canva to my colleagues across Northern Europe as a way to create smart and attractive social media designs on a weekly,if not daily, basis. Another favourite feature of mine is that it allows you to create a wide range of graphics that are especially configured for social media, brochures, infographics, email heads, invitations etc...Canva are also continually updating their templates meaning if you do find making a design daunting, you never have to start from scratch again! A new feature they have added which I like is that you can now download your designs into gifs, videos or animations. They have several options you can choose from, and all work exceptionally well! Cons Very occasionally, the saved output can vary from what I've done in the design- so double check it - which is always recommended anyway! More and more elements seem to have a cost; there definitely used to be many more free images and graphics to use before. Love the company, culture, constant iteration, excellent youtube channel and training videos. Pros Canva are continuously adding new features. They have a huge selection of free assets and you can buy the pro as you go which is excellent and caters for all budgets. They also have different licences for different users and are particularly supportive of Non Profits. Cons The only feature that is still a work in progress is the importing of PDF's. A pesar de contar cada vez con una selección más amplia, los estilos que puedes encontrar corresponden con las tendecias actuales lo que limita bastante adaptarse al estilo en específico que estuvieras buscando. February 18, 2020 5.0 I make graphics for our companies and occasionally clients, in a whole variety of capacities. I have used Canva to create newsletter graphics, social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, Pintrest, Tumblr, Instagram, and Reddit, brochures for products or services, infographics for conferences, and more. Pros I have been using Canva since I began teaching myself to make graphics over two years ago. It has served me well in both simple projects (like graphics for social media) or full-on gif animations. They continually add new features and content and are always revamping the suggestions for "fresh" ideas. It's also super easy to share your project to other people or places, and you have quite a few download options for your files. And it is SUPER easy to use, the user interface is very intuitive and if you have questions their docs are great! Cons I have very few complaints, and the ones I have are pretty niche issues. Systematically I don't see issues at all! But sometimes it can be hard to format a picture correctly due to their "snapping" feature that snaps whatever element you're using to the nearest part of the picture the program "thinks" you want to use. For example, if you try and move a circle to a centimeter away from the middle of the graphic you're creating, it will automatically center itself and won't let you un-center it without an enormous amount of fuss. But this is minor and doesn't really happen often for me! I create mainly content for social media and simple print flyers for our company and it does the job absolutely great. Of course you have to keep in mind that for more complex projects you should use more complex software, but for anything quick and simple this tool is ideal. When you use or get inspired by templates, it can make your graphical stuff look professional without much effort. Pros It is incredibly easy to use when you need to do something quick and you don't want to use more complex tools like CorelDraw/Adobe products. It has tons of templates which you can use directly or can be used for inspiration for your own stuff. What I like the most that you have already recommended sizes of different posts for social and print media, which are predefined. You can quickly switch between different sizes and adjustments are super easy. I also like that I can work with video and decently animate pictures. All the tools which you would probably need for simple and medium complex projects not only for social media. Also, the smartphone app is really useful, for some minor operations when you are on the go. Cons As far as I know, there is nothing I could complain about. It has everything I need for quick creation. It is not usual that you can find a tool which really does everything you would expect. And I am using it since 2019 and I am not going to use any other application, I left CorelDraw already. This is the best software with the best free storage. You can download the edits easily in any format that you want. Pros I have a whole list of pros that Canva offers: - Unlimited cloud storage of brand logo, and assets for free. - Unlimited access to templates. - Huge gallery of free elements. - High amount of export and download options. - Live sharing to other users via multiple options. - Layer-based graphic editing. No other vendor provided these many features for free and thus I love this software on the cloud, no installation is required, saves disk space. Cons Absolutely no cons are there in Canva, one of the most emerging cloud platforms for graphic-related works. Their mobile and iPad app is equally functioning. But I think removing the background from the image feature should be given for free once a day.
