In addition to print and document templates, where Canva really shines is it's social media templates. I use it to make quick, professional-looking graphics for Facebook, our website, and even our church's bulletin. The sheer number of ready-made templates in sizes that fit every social media platform makes Canva an easy choice for the social media person who either doesn't use Photoshop or who needs to crank out designs quickly. I recommend it to non-tech savvy folks looking to up their visual media game. Canva keeps all of your social media graphics online in one portfolio so that you can reuse designs or share designs with a team. This is helpful to me because I can see at a glance what types of graphics I've used in the past and keep the variety up. With a growing number of video templates for social media and access to stock photos makes Canva a great choice for any size organization. Canva gives almost the whole store away with the free version, but the inexpensive "pro" version makes it an affordable alternative to more expensive software that the whole team can collaborate together on. Pros Canva has ready-made templates for hundreds of occasions, it's easy to use them as-is or build upon them to make your own design. I especially appreciate that Canva gives you the decisions for all of the major social media sites. The built-in stock photo gallery is extremely helpful! The sheer number of features and design options is astounding. Cons One small issue one might have if using the free version is that Canva mixes free photos and graphics within the ones included in the pro version, undoubtedly to sell the upgrade. It would be nice to have a checkbox that filters only freely available graphics (or places them first). The 'uploads' and 'your designs' are two different folders. -I actually just noticed that you can add videos to a project which is a plus for any social media platform. -I use a few different editing/design apps but I love the fact that Canva has both a mobile app and a desktop site. 'Over' doesn't have a desktop site yet and PicMonkey's app doesn't have the same capabilities whereas Canva app does EXACTLY what the desktop site does if not more -Another plus is the custom dimensions when you go to create a new project. A la vez, los diseñadores podemos adaptarnos a la existencia de Canva para ser más serviciales con nuestros clientes. Si bien un diseñador profesional nunca diseñaría desde cero en Canva debido a la falta de recursos para crear se forma prolija y medida el arte vectorial, al tener todos sus recursos concretados puede ser la herramienta perfecta para brindarselos al cliente y que de ese modo el cliente no sea dependiente del diseñador para cada post de redes sociales por ejemplo... En resumen, lo que más me gusta es que abre la puerta a un modo de trabajo híbrido, ágil, que le da más libertad al diseñador a la vez se más participación al cliente. Pros I love that it is constantly improving. I used to have to go out of the program to get rid of backdrops and find pictures. Then they gave us the ability to get rid of backdrops and, it feels like, has a ton more graphics and pictures. It is also getting more intuitive, the measurements that just pop up. Chef's kiss. I also love that it is constantly saving. Cons This isn't much, but I wish the background of the program wasn't white. I have a hard time distinguishing what is my project and what is the app. I usually have to drop in a colored background to use while I'm working on something that will eventually have a white background. I also don't use their phone app, my phone is just too small and I never get things just right.
