It is relatively easy to use and with Canva Pro you have access to a massive library of slide templates, fonts and pictures. For a small company or group, I think Canva definitely makes your company look more professional and brings more appeal to your next pitch. Pros Canva is like a slide show type software that specializes on creating visually appealing slides. It is easy to create an account and start making slides. What I like most about this online software is that all your projects are stored online. Also, you can have access to many high quality designs and templates with little effort. Cons Canva Pro is about $120 a year or $13 as of September 2020. While the access to thousands of high quality fonts and templates are stunning, you can get a cheaper subscription from Microsoft PPM for $10 a month if you rather stick to basic slides. If going to a bigger enterprise type of subscription (which costs $30 a month), you only can have one brand kit. Cons This tool offers SO MUCH value in the free AND paid version it’s really hard to have any complaints. BUT, Canva could have a better mobile app experience. The desktop experience is superior and easier to use. It’s not that the mobile app isn’t good, but sometimes it can be challenging to select the graphic elements you’re trying to move/modify. However, I do like that anything you create on desktop is available for opening and editing on mobile, so the app is excellent for simple fixes and adjustments to an existing graphic created on desktop. I use it daily for my graphics. Pros If you're just starting out and can't afford to hire a designer and don't have the time for more complex design software, Canva is an excellent solution. It's easy to use and has a wide range of templates. I have designed my own graphic templates on Canva and used them as lead magnets to grow my email list. I really enjoy the paid version and the features. They make managing multiple clients really easy. I have folders, fonts, and logos stored neatly in it so it makes the design process quicker. Another reason why I enjoy the paid version is because it allows you to access more stock pictures and elements. I do use Photoshop to design some of my graphics, but I find myself using Canva a lot more frequently just because it's so easy. Cons A lot of my clients complain about having to scroll through mixed content on the free version. It would be nice if they could just filter by free content and paid content. Because I share templates with my email list it would also be nice to allow them to copy my design without giving them editing permissions. I find myself going in daily to fix my designs because there's always someone who ignores the first document page with instructions on copying the graphic before editing. I can access it from any location using any device. Other than that, Canva's connectivity with the phone is excellent. The many templates that can be used and modified make my work faster without wasting much time. Pros Easy to use and intuitive interface as well as many ready-made templates, making it easy for anyone to design anything in a very short time, I like being a great designer with very good results. Moreover, this platform does not require any special skills or training to use. Cons As a video editor, I want better video editing options, but in this case, I also have to judge wisely, no software or application can do the job perfectly. Canva's video editing tools are too basic for me to use right now, so when I want to edit a video for some effects that aren't available in Canva I have to use special video editing software, but I think that's fair. I love how all the pictures are already inside, and all i need is to look for it and add them to my design... Overall, I love Canva because it make design so much more accessible without the need to learn complex software. Pros As a psychological consultancy, we conduct a lot of training and coaching sessions. Each of these workshops and coaching session would require tip sheets, checklists, slides, workbooks, posters, etc. I love that we are able to use Canva to create all these amazing designs and the templates are absolutely stunning. I also love how you are able to add your brand colours, and with the click of a button you are able to change all the colours to the one that you want. Cons I am loving most of it, the main problem is the collaboration aspect. I would love that I can share my design with a non-paying team member because they do not need the full rights of Pro features, they may need to make some simple edits to dates of workshop for example. I love creating logos on Canva because I can create one logo and have it automatically sized for different social media banners and profile pictures. Pros The free version of Canva is amazing! It is amazingly easy to learn how to use and, if users struggle with graphics and typography, Canva has a library of different templates for print media, social media posts, or website images. The social media templates' sizes are optimized for the major social media sites, which takes the guesswork out of optimizing images for social media. The free stock photos are nice and, if users can't find a stock photo image that fits their visions, they can pay for premium images or upload their own. To complement images, Canva features a variety of image filters as well as frames in different shapes, sizes, and grids. The frames are incredibly easy to use, you just click the image you want to insert and Canva automagically inserts it into the frame. Users can literally create gorgeous social media posts with just a few clicks, some drag-and-dropping, and some typing. Cons The Canva website is sometimes laggy. This means that it sometimes will take several minutes to upload images, save images, or download images. Free users can only have one folder to organize designs, which means that if they want to tweak a past image, they will have to scroll through a lot of images to find the one they are looking for. Also, free users will find that their typography only designs or their logos cannot have a transparent background. This means that users will have to match the background color perfectly with their webpage or colored paper, or they will have to download the image and remove the background using a different editing program. A lot of the technicalities of graphic design are abstracted. Laying a foundation for your design is easy with grids. There is a lot of design elements already present on the platform such as pictures, icons, videos and templates. Even with no design concept, choose from the thousands of templates for almost every design and platform. Whether it is documents, covers to social posts. There is no need to worry about details such as dimensions and layering. All the elements can including fonts can be dragged to the desired position and edits made. exporting the final designs is easy with print and video options. There is even a share function in case there is need to get the design out on social media or email instantly. There is also a social media management option. this lets you manage all you social media posts including scheduling. This is a paid option. Image adjustment is easy and can be done with the images on the design, no need to edit it separately. Options include effects, filters and adjustments with sliders to achieve just the degree you want. App and integrations include Facebook and Instagram, Google Drive, Hubspot and others. Designing with Canva is quick easy. Cons I remove a lot of backgrounds from images but without need to subscribe to a plan. It would be nice to have this option separately available without having a hundred other features I do not use.
