Pros Super easy and intuitive for designing and integration with our external design agency - the ability for them to create templates for us and then share them directly has been fantastic. I feel like a pro editing and designing content for our social media platforms and recently created a newsletter which was super easy! Cons Few times I have wished that there was a quicker way to do something like copying or changing a template or multi-page template without having to copy the entire file and then delete pages. Canva is really great, and I'll absolutely recommend it! Pros Canva is the easiest design software to use. And I love how they improve the ease of navigation from time to time. I specifically love Canva because it makes me look like a pro in design when I'm really a copywriter. Makes my overall work fabulous. Cons It usually gets super slow to load up, especially when I'm running against time. Things like the font size look smaller in the software and then get bigger when you export. Not nice. For the higher cost of printing you could pay a professional such as myself to design for you and print at a lower cost and higher quality. The application is bad for the overall marketing industry because it has lowered the quality standard and impact of advertisements being created by business owners who think they understand marketing, design and printing. I recently said to one of my clients who owns a high end auto detailing business and tried to create some marketing materials on his own, "I don't now how to properly wax and detail my vehicle. I would probably ruin the paint job somehow if I were to do it myself. That's why I hire a professional. I wouldn't expect you to be able to handle a design, print and marketing job either because that's not what you do." In short, stick to what you know and leave the rest to professionals. It will cost you less in the long run. Pros It's very easy to use and offers a ton of design content for free. You don't necessarily need to search outside of Canva for images but you can if you want. It's great for designing simple social banners or marketing materials quickly but there is a catch. They are trying to sell you printing services and their pricing is not competitive with quality printers. Cons I recommend Canva to clients who need to create social media marketing images. I have worked with clients who need me to print postcards, flyers or brochures that they designed on Canva and there are issues. Canva is trying to sell printing services. Their design templates are sized and setup for the printer companies they outsource to. If you design on Canva and download the files to send to a professional printer then those files are not setup correctly and require alterations to be printed. That's if there is room for alterations, but not all designs will allow for easy alteration so therefore the customer is forced to print on Canva at higher costs. Review Source CN Christian N. There is certain feel in the software interface that makes it smooth. Free features are useful for the most people. You can find templates for websites, mobile devices and all social media with both video and photo designing features. In addition you are still able to customise the templates you want to use, eliminating the hustle of designing everything. Cloud-based, I can save my projects and next time I start where I left or I can still find old projects when I want to edit them or design the same. All just by login in with my email on any device. March 11, 2021 5.0 We are able to VERY QUICKLY churn out designs for our organisation, which has saved a lot of time and effort. Canva is a MUST-USE tool for anyone involved in social media marketing or online communities! Pros Canva is so easy to use, and even easy to "teach" to other users in our organization. Because we are on a Canva Pro account, we're also able to easily store brand colors, logos, etc. The best feature though is the free access to thousands of free high-quality images, which saves us a lot of time. It's so great that Canva listens to their users and keeps on getting better! They recently introduced a background remover, photo effects, and text effects - which are all just so useful! I'd honestly rather use Canva most times over other more complex tools. I also personally raised a suggestion in a Canva users group for them to bunch fonts together depending on style, and they did it! What a great team! Cons It's not so intuitive how workspaces and folders and collaboration works for teams. I sometimes get confused if I'm working on a design that's in my personal workspace or if it's something others see. The app version is also a bit tough to work with. I always get complicates on my posts and questions about what I use. They are always surprised when I tell them that Canva is absolutely free because many other have a fee. Canva has helped me out so much on growing my followers! I love this and will continue to use it. Pros A feature that I absolutely love about Canva is that they have a variety of designs, and templates to choose from. You can make your social media a lot more organized and it also increased my followers engagement by 80%, which is amazing! This software is a super easy to use, I also love that you can create GIFS. I highly recommend this to everyone! Cons A feature that I would love to see in the future on Canva is a ruler. I love to have things centered or just if I'm creating multiple texts I like to have them exactly the same distance from each other. Pros This is one of my favorite platforms. It is extremely user friendly and easy to navigate. Although I have a good amount of experience with design, I think a person with very little design experience could easily use this! I used to use photoshop for design and have almost entirely started used this platform because I find I can design something much quicker with the same outcome! Cons I honestly do not have a lot of complaints as I find this platform to be very useful. Other products are bulky and challenging to master. Canva brings me just what I what I need without overloading me with features I will never use. I particularly recommend this for small businesses, nonprofits, and beginning entrepreneurs. If you need to produce nice looking designs quickly and you don't have a background in graphic design. This will be your best friend. Moreover, you can add a number of team members for making group work a breeze. I have created hundreds of designs using this software. I am hooked. Pros It is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. It allows me to make designs quickly and simply, but it also allows for a good bit of customization too if I want to spend a little more time on a design. Because of the templates and examples, I have seen my designs improve significantly since I started using Canva. Because of its ease of use, I have also seen my output and effeciency increase significantly. Cons I like a little more control/flexibility to change the font, size, and color of text in one text box. I would also like more control over the color of the icons. In addition to making my own workflow more efficient, I am able to design templates in Canva that I can share with clients who have minimal graphic design experience. This is AWESOME, because before now, we were stuck with trying to do layouts in Microsoft Word, which just doesn't work. The brand kit feature is great! Pros Canva is literally a game changer. I started using it for some of the simpler designs - social media, mostly. But I soon discovered that, with only a few exceptions, Canva can be used to create stunning designs I had previously created only with Adobe Illustrator or InDesign. I still use the Adobe Creative Site, but in most cases, Canva is faster, more streamlined and above all, easy to edit and share with my colleagues who do not have advanced graphic design skills. I also love that Canva is continually rolling out new features, such as video and animation templates. Cons There is one little glitch that can be frustrating.
