Canva's smart tools & beautiful layouts have enabled me to do everything myself. Gone are the days of trying to get on the same page as a designer and argue back and forth why things should look a certain way. My life is A/B testing and so I am fairly confident in what I think a banner/ad should look like to be high performing and functional, rather than artistic & beautiful as a designer may try to push. I am really happy it supports my role and gives me the freedom and autonomy I crave as a performance marketer. Pros I love, love, LOVE the "Remove Background" feature. I use this more than anything else. With just a click of a button, it somehow analyzes the focus of the images (people, products) from everything else and leaves you with that focus & a clean, white (actually transparent) background. Don't have the time or resources to shoot in front of an all-white background or to painstakingly trim around your images in Photoshop? No worries - Canva has your back! This feature has literally replaced my need for our graphic designer. I am able to get what I need in a fraction of the time - which generally is cart images of product, or a background-free image of the face of our brand I can throw on top of a banner. Cons One way I think Canva could improve is by adding a button that centers, left aligns, etc. images on a page - similar to UnBounce (UnBounce is a landing page builder - not a competitor of Canva). As a university marketer who utilized (and trained) student workers — Canva is the PERFECT tool to allow them some level of creative freedom while also driving them toward good design, and not requiring an expensive license. As a corporate marketer, I have team members who aren't designers create social graphics, and I also use it to make my own graphics on the fly. The options are endless! Pros I LOVE that Canva includes SO MANY templates so that non-designers can quickly and easily create a social media graphic that looks good, without needing to know the design tenents behind WHY it looks good (or HOW to make it look good). As a designer who also works heavily in Adobe CC myself, I also love how QUICK & EASY it is to create graphics in Canva. If I'm on the run working from my phone, I can still create something quick and easy to post to social, on the fly, without needing my big, bad design software. Cons Not a complaint, but a feature not every user knows about... even templates with a $ can be used for free... this just means that the IMAGE included in the template isn't free... if you swap that image out for a free image, the template itself is still free. Also, I've used Canva across 3 different jobs over the past 6+ years, and this is an issue I remember in the PAST. I can't confirm that it's still the case. But in the PAST, I've had issues when I download the final image with it not being crystal clear sharp. You don't notice on photos so much, but on line art you'll see that the edges between shapes are just a tad bit fuzzy. Cons Canva offers downloading the created designs or templates in various formats like jpeg, pdf, etc. But if it can offer users to download as per the required dimensions also, then it will be a great addition. Overall I enjoy using the free version, and I do recommend it to colleagues and clients. Pros I love that Canva has a free version! I did enjoy the paid version with resizing, but since my social media promo tool includes resizing already, I don't really need it. I am finding that there are many great free images and templates/designs to pick from that you can update to match your branding. The templates in particular have helped me at the beginning stages of my business, when I wanted something easy to create that was also standing out. I love that there are totally customisable font sizes, layouts, and sizing. I love that you can duplicate contents you previously created, and organise them in folders, so that it makes it a lot easier to find what you're looking for. Cons I do have that with the social media promo tool I'm using, so I see how helpful the function could be as part of Canva: having the integrate with social media posting tools would be really cool. The free tutorials are so helpful. The template library is varied and deep. There's a million reasons to use Canva, including the royalty-free graphics and simplicity. As a paid subscriber, the ability to keep my branded items uploaded and easy to access is awesome. They are constantly working to improve the service. Cons Greedily, I wish there were even more royalty-free photos available to the paid subscribers. I wish when I paid for an item it would be available across uses, too. Without being greedy, I think there are a lot of flow-and-functionality improvements that can be made to the user interface. It's difficult and winding to make your way to a template from the design library. The search feature is too specific and should include the ability to search through designs and fonts. Canva helped me to save hours and hours of time! I am a craft blogger so I find that I am creating Pinterest pins on a daily basis. I also add graphics to Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram, and more, so the need for a quick way to get my images out is necessary. Canva fills that bill! It is my favorite application for graphic production. Pros I have been using this software for a number of years and in the beginning, there were very few options available. Today, the features not only include templates, they include animations, elements, the ability to use all your own fonts, images, and other assets. The ability to choose the right size for the right application without having to pull out a spreadsheet and read through text really sets this application apart from the rest. As far as design goes, the examples are outstanding and the option to change up FREE designs and paid designs make this my go-to application for quick production. Cons Canva is not a design software, do not expect to draw or create graphics. Creation needs to occur outside the application. MP4 downloads are incredible but often I have to download them a couple of times to work the way I expect them to work. Its uses are multiple, everything is ready to customize it as you want, in a simple way. Pros Canva has very beautiful and creative templates. I like how the templates are classified according to the purpose, that is, if they are for events, social networks, marketing, invitation cards, yearbooks and much more. It has many templates and I like that they have the exact dimensions for any social network. It has a large gallery of images and many very beautiful fonts. I can customize my designs by uploading my own photos, images and fonts. I like how easily that it integrate with YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Pixabay, among others, to load elements and add them to the designs. The finished designs can be downloaded in various formats and even published directly on social networks. It is really great software, it is not necessary to download it, it's available online and it isn't necessary to have knowledge of code or graphic design, since Canva offers everything you need to make your design look professional.
