The free version has more than enough features. I love the simple drag and drop functionality. The ready to use templates make this product perfect for even the most novice of designers. Cons If you're looking to do more complex design such as creating layouts for magazines or designing large graphics for tshirts, for example, it becomes more tedious to use as you have to drag and drop everything and there are minimal text formatting options you may need to make dozens of text boxes to create the look you want. The free version also does not allow you to resize graphics or save graphics with transparent backgrounds. I love that it is a free alternative to some of the other higher priced softwares that are out there as well and offers quite a bit within that free scope! Pros I like the variety of templates they offer as well as the ability to create your own. I also like the fact that you can share designs within a team this makes my job a bit easier as I'm able to work on something that a team leader has started and get it finished for them. Cons There are certain things like overlaying a text with glitter or taking out a background that you can't do within the platform so I have to use a different platform for those tasks. It's also very hard to get graphics to blend into one another to create merged lines instead of hard lines when printed. We use canva to create images for our website, social media and print materials. Pros Everything. I love how there are levels of subscriptions that allow access to various things. Even the free version comes with a lot of helpful tools. It's super easy to use and creates GREAT looking graphics if you spend a little time in there. I think the most helpful thing that they do is creating templates (both free and paid) that can then be edited to suit your needs. Cons Sometimes a downloaded version of an image with lines will have some lines appear in the wrong place. It can be frustrating to try to fix this issue, but it doesn't happen often. I also wish it were possible to resize what you're working on with custom dimension instead of their preset ones. What I realised on the free version was that many of the features I wanted were on the paid. About 8 months in, I got a different editing suite, from another vendor, free as part of package and moved to that. I still use canva when clients want to but my preference is for the other site. Pros Canva is a popular platform which means that it's likely your colleagues or clients have it - this makes sharing easy Cons Many of the editing features are not intuitive and I've had issues with updates and changes I've made to an item not being automatically saved, even though it's flagged that it has done so. Well Canva is the tool that will help you create content for yourself. Right now, I use Canva to design flyers to promote my business. Also to generate content on my social networks, I have even been able to help my friends in distress. Pros It is the best graphic application that has been invented, especially if you are not a user with experience in graphic design. What I like the most is how practical it is to use this tool. It has a large library of fully customizable templates. As well as varied functions and applications that you can also customize. You can also upload your own images in the cloud and create designs for social networks, which saves time. Another of the benefits of Canva, is that you can work online, all changes are saved automatically. So you can access your account from anywhere. The free version is very complete, some images are not, but still I do not consider it expensive. Cons Canva has its limitations, as for example you can not create vectors or visualize the elements edited in layer (like other software traditionally used in graphic design). If you are looking for a more accurate and professional result, it is possible that this tool is not enough. The Microsoft Powerpoint software can be quite boring to use hence this is an amazing upgrade in my opinion. As a Social Media Manager for small businesses, Canva helps me create amazing Social Media content in real-time without having to worry about anything. Pros Site functions are easy to understand. It can be used to create a wide array of graphics from Social Media Content to Blog Posts, Fliers, Calendars and my new favorite, Powerpoint Creations. My designs from years ago are well backed up and I have never lost a design I did not delete. Great for Graphic Design enthusiasts who do not understand Graphic Design. Cons It might just be me, but the web interface is far nicer to use than the app. A tap of the back button on your mobile could take away most of your work. Thank God for an undo button. I can make graphics for social media, emails and blogs so fast. It saves me a ton of time. And they always come out great with the tons of templates and images to choose straight from the platform. Cons The only few things that I can say are cons is that the utility column on the left does not minimize inward. It takes up a lot of my workspace and I wish I could make it disappear when I don't need it. Also, if you're using a PC there is not an option for a grid to use which is annoying. Their customer service told me it's possible though if you're using a Mac. Also, occasionally the platform will bug out and I'll lose work if it didn't save. The templates are incredibly useful whether you are preparing presentations or posts for social media. I use this software almost exclusively now for all of our design products at the church. Cons The only complaint I have is that sometimes what I download in the Safari browser does not match what appears on the screen. This can be resolved by using the Chrome browser, but I would like to see this fixed in the future since I primarily use Safari. I know some drawbacks are there but that is negligible as compared to all features. so This is an awesome platform for graphic designing. Pros The following things I like most is, 1) I can do logo designing under 5 minutes without any problem for my client. 2) I can make event templets and flyers from pre-design templet of Canva and that is an awesome feature to design it easily. 3) Canva helps me to create short video ad for my social media agency too. Cons The following things I don't like most is, 1) I can't use some pictures and templet in the free version of Canva. 2) I can't change the dimension of the photo once I start my design. 3) I can't combine content for export. 4) The one feature absence is shadow which helps to make creative images but unfortunately, we can't use it due to the absence of shadow feature. Also it is my personal preference, but in a grid layout Canva will auto crop and I'd rather do that myself. It was amazing. Pros Canvas have a lot of customisable templates for almost any type of graphics, ranging from logo making,flyers,cards and many more. I've been using the freemium for months now, and I really like the ease of use, many fonts to choose from. Even a beginner can figure out where to start from, either by customising already made templates or starting one from scratch. Another great thing about Canva is that the tools are arranged orderly, you can find stickers, logos etc. To add to your project without stress. I've created about thirty different logos for my projects, yes... The app runs smoothly on my Android mobile, so I've not been stocked up on task, nor requested for support. The advertisement are not embarrassing, I even downloaded Canva both on my mobile and windows laptop. Cons It should have been free for students. And depending on your project, you may need to upgrade to get a fully functional and customisable Templates, fonts and logos... Although I haven't tried the premium version yet. Not recommended for larger files, or if you want to create an original design. The "share" feature doesn't always work and sometimes pictures can come out grainy. Instead of searching google for a transparent PNG I can remove the background of a photo in seconds. Layering and moving objects is so easy and the program cooperated so well. It also has a built in alignment feature that helps you center and perfectly align the size and position of objects.
