Pros: I used Slack for communicating with an outside vendor on a project. It was easy to converse with multiple vendor team members and have a clear record of all the communications.

Cons: My experience with Slack is limited to single project that I worked on with an outside vendor. If I were to seriously use the software, I'd want an Outlook plugin so I can write message from my email.

Pros: Slack is a lifesaver for our organization as it enhanced the speed at which we can communicate with other members of our company on projects. In addition, the ability to create specific channels to reduce the overall noise allows us to be more effective and direct in our communications. The use of Slack over the past year has probably saved us tens, if not hundreds of thousands of emails. Their integration with other programs and platforms is excellent and allows us to streamline communications internall and externally with our clients.

Cons: The only con to Slack is the cost above the free plan. There is a significant jump to move to a paid plan which allows you to keep all of your conversation history.

Overall: Streamlined communication, targeted communication on specific topics through the use of channels, time savings from the number of emails "saved".

Slack is an easy way to communicate and collaborate.

Pros: It's easy to use right away, doesn't require much set-up, and saves time from having to email back and forth between collaborators.

Cons: It's another thing to check everyday, and sometimes it can get complicated if you have a lot of channels going on. I also dislike how cluttered the news feed on a channel can get if you haven't been able to catch up in a while.

Overall: I can connect with a lot more people that doesn't require cluttering my inbox everyday.

Pros: This product allows corporate communication at the your fingertips. Not only does this help with organization during the work day, but also collaboration between large groups, i.e. tradeshow events.

Cons: We are required to resubmit login credentials quite often and this becomes difficult if there is not a computer in the area.

Pros: This has been absolutely the most functional, easy-to-use, productivity increasing, organized chat app that our company has used.

Cons: It is definitely useful, but very over-hyped. As a result, pricing is incredibly high for what you get the ability to have group calls, storing more than 5gb of files, etc., will cost you more than a GSuite account per person in your organization.

Pros: The ability to create different channels with different purposes. You can create a channel for any purpose, whether group or project, and archive them when you're done to clean up clutter.

Cons: This is small nitpick, but whenever I try to access the list of channels, I always click the plus button instead of the "Channels" word. The UI could be more intuitive in this aspect.

Pros: Multi-platform usage of this software is incredible. I used it on Linux, Windows and macOS.
I like the slick design and highly customisable themes . It is very simple and organised.
Free plan of usage is extremely well bulit, it gives you a message limit which is more than enough to fully experience this software.
Huge amount of extensions and add-ons possibilites is a huge plus.

Cons: The only thing that i didn't like was the part where we had to invite each other via e-mails. It can be a little confusing for new users.

Overall: I was able to instantly and in a very effective way reach my colleagues for help and discuss our code in a large group of people in order to find its mistakes and possible improvements.

Pros: The easiness of usage, how self-explanatory the Software itself is. Nothing over the top, has just what you need without the unimportant extras to draw your attention from the main point. The fact that you can use free version that works almost impeccably would be a tremendous plus as well.

Cons: I honestly do not see any downsides of this amazing app. The only thing that can account as the downside would not be connected with the application itself but the different types of users, where some could easly be mislead and start using this one as a chat app instead of a work-related one as it is primarily intended.

Overall: Ease of access, instant info, work flow improved without unnecessary delays. Less formal emailing that takes time when all you need is just a quick answer.

Comments: Overall, Slack is definitely a tool you can vouch for!

Pros: After having worked in the IT sector for 3+ years now, I can safely say that Slack is one of the best channels for internal communication - primarily because the design is extremely balanced; it is not archaic nor is it designed to look too casual a chat platform. I will quickly walk you through the pros of the product based on my experience as well as the useful features of it. 1. With slack, you are assured of a good UI. I have used similar platforms for internal messaging like spark but there were quite dated in terms of how they looked and worked. Majority of times, the file always showed transfer error. Slack ensures sureshot file transfer 2. In addition to the point above, there is a very useful feature of "All Files" that helps you view all the files you have received so far. Great for record purposes, to double-check and re-download easily in case you have lost the file 3. You can set reminders to yourself - Absolutely amazing especially for those tiny tasks in between that I gotta finish but generally tend to forget because of daily duties 4. Customised channels - I can create multiple different channels for different categories of communication. Much like how we create "groups" in WhatsApp - That is how it works. It is especially good when you want to disseminate important information to a particular set of people 5. Apart from reminders - You have your personal chat page which works like a "diary" for me. So I can put my daily tasks, save links or even "test run" certain messages. It is a pretty useful feature! P.S. Not exactly a benefit but apart from a fun UI, it always opens up with a fun quote which is just nice to read overall!

Cons: 1. The application is too slow at times, to the extent that all other files hang. Tip: Once you have your workplace's account on Slack, just use the web version - It is not slow as the app is 2. The bottle-cap on the number of messages - I would like to use a communication tool safe in the knowledge that I can use it whenever I want to with no limits whatsoever. The upper limit of the number of messages that you can send deters me from sending quick messages to myself/others

Pros: Email messaging are becoming more obsolete especially in project management. Slack makes it easy to communicate through group chat groups and converting messages into tasks with third party integration.

Cons: So Slack is moving in the right direction in terms of being the best messaging app for business or professional use. Only feature I would like to see in the future is to enable titles in messages. Since messages in Slack are usually long better to have a summary or a title so that you can already filter as you go through it just like email titles.

Overall: Easy communication with teams in working with projects

Pros: The best part of using slack is that it cuts down on emails. Instead of sending tens, or hundreds of emails per day and always having to wait on a response, I just Slack my co-workers a question and I get a response in easily half the time. This is especially useful for very small questions or tasks so that my email inbox stays clean for the more in-depth communications.

Cons: Th thing I like least about slack is some inconsistent interface elements that make the learning curve a bit steep when starting out. The difference between starting a chat with an individual versus starting a chat with an establish channel is not consistent. However, this is easily overcome-able after just a short period of using the product.

Overall: I feel like I get almost an hour of my day back every day by instant communication with my team. This tool definitely makes me more efficient in my day-to-day job.

Pros: Integrations. the Salesforce and Invision integrations are good enough but I have the ability to link Slack with at least 10 apps that I use on a regular basis. This helps me integrate Slack with my pretty much all of my normal day to day activities.

Cons: There aren't a lot of added features for the standard or plus packages. Having video calls is a nice touch but other than that, you don't receive much once you start paying for it. It would be nice to see more feautures in the future as the product expands.

Pros: - You can have customized channels within your team for special projects or different designated teams to discuss things privately.
- There are great apps that you can integrate to this software, like CRMs, culture promoting tools, games, reminders, task managers, etc.
- It barely has any issues at all, I've been using it for three years and I think it has been down twice, and not even for very long.
- It's great for international/Out of office communications.
- It has great settings for "Do Not Disturb" modes, with schedules.
- It's easy to set up new members and new app integrations.

Cons: The reply system hides the replies instead of just showing them below the original message with different spacing or something similar, so they get lost sometimes.

Pros: The main pro of this platform is that it's way too easy to use due to its boards/channels arrangements. Intuitive channels replacement makes this tool quite easy for even the newbie to start using it from the time of accessing. In short, Slack's UI is fantastic.
What's another most important stuff is that it allows you to stay up to date to any (interesting to you) internal communications without cluttering your email inbox. A useful tool for internal communications.

Cons: Free plan has a very limited functionality compared to the paid one. Other than that I don't much of shortcomings in this product.

Pros: The ability to create multiple channels and be able share, schedule meetings, have custom notifications, have proper search feature to parse through the messages and ease of file sharing are some of the advantages that I see of using Slack. This has been a very useful office communicator tool and people from both intra and inter organization can collaborate through it.

Cons: The free version of slack has limited capabilities and the messages history is also truncated leading to the fear or social isolation when using the free version. The monthly subscription plan is a little expensive and so I hope there is a middle ground that is explored here

Overall: Good collaboration and ease of use are some of the important benefits that I received with this product

Pros: I've used Slack among different companies, teams, and now with my own business that I own and it has never let me down. It makes communicating with your team very easy and the different channels and plug-in options are endless.

Cons: It's truly hard to even think of something bad to say about this product, that's how good it is. The only thing I think they could probably work on is making keyboard shortcuts or new plug-ins available for users to learn about on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. There is so much to the platform I felt sometimes that there was more I could do with it if I simply had the knowledge.

Pros: Generally easy to use/set up with a friendly interface, designed by people in the industry for people in the industry so is quite intuitive by design. The ability to connect to almost every other application we use was a great advantage for automating processes which took some strain off of the IT dept

Cons: Whilst the product was great the free version was limited in functionality (understandable) and we could not justify the price of the full version over Microsoft Teams which came bundled for free with our Office 365 package.

Overall: The integrations were a great help. having that level of interactivity is really helpful. Some competitors (I use that word very loosely) like Facebook Workplace simply do not have the integrations we required but Slack had them all.

Pros: Slack has many advantages without a doubt, Slacks design makes the difference. It is so user friendly .The design is more clear and understandable, and the application search works like a beast. It has the provision to delete messages, better categorisation of teams/ groups and more emoticons. Slack has reliability, a faster server and has fewer connection issues and bugs. Any application which focuses on these basic level user expected features will surely attract customers. It improves our productivity within our teams, no more email streams that get lost in the inbox. It allows us to focus directly on project and collaborate and share information directly as we can create project/departmental groups. We can integrate with many of our development and crm apps and share information in real time.

Cons: We have not experienced any issues yet, maybe sometimes getting up to speed with a conversation can be testing if you have to leave it but apart from that it is excellent. We have used hipchat previous and slack is more user friendly and reliable we find.

Pros: The ease of use and interesting apps that helps in making the communication process better. I love that the Slack app on my phone makes it very easy for me to be up to date with any messages I need. The snooze notification feature is definitely the best.

Cons: The software gets stuck and takes long time to get in sync. Also, not everyone is aware of how to customize their slack responses and different features which slack provide..

Overall: The product makes the team level interaction really easy. It does a great job when it comes to keeping reminders, setting default messages, snoozing notifications and many other features that it has. I don't have to use 3 different apps to do different things for me.

Pros: You can have as many people in one chat as you like, its easy to use and get started for users who has never used before

Cons: It does not bring much from any other live chat app. Its nothing different from other apps that you can find in the market

Overall: First it all, its an app easy to use, also allows to gather as many people as you wish in one chat room, but it does not have any particular remarkable difference comparing to other app that are in the market.

Pros: I love the fact that I have a separate software which I use solely for business. It really helps with organization when it comes backlogging conversations and discussions and removes the clutter that comes with email chains.

Cons: It's hard to find a clear cut answer because the program has worked very well for me thus far. But if I were to nitpick I would say the program could feature more customization in terms of how I want my UI to look.

Overall: Again, streamlining all of my business communication and allowing daily correspondence to live in a separate software which allows me to stay much more organized.

Pros: Its integration with Asana is very useful; I am often in Slack and so notice notifications when my coworker has finished a task.

Cons: I wish the emoticons were displayed larger. Sometimes me or my coworkers roleplay and small emojis kind of kill the fun when we upload a custom emoji that isn't really clear.

Overall: The Asana integration improves my workflow. Previously we were using Skype but Slack's expanded functionality makes it a clear choice for an instant messaging service.

Pros: What can I say? I love using Slack! Even before my company started using an official "paid" version of Slack, we used it in our smaller team. Great tools, functionality, and easy to communicate with others. So many add-ons and ways to link to other software.

Cons: I wish that it was a bit simpler in navigation and settings, but that's just being picky. I wish there was an easy way in the app, to look at the marketplace instead of a browser.

Overall: Our team has seen great benefits in communicating. So much easier than following a long email chain! I love to be able to ping others without bugging them by email or text.

Pros: I like the flexibility of this software. And the ease in using it to communicate with my supervisor and other teammates. It has made keeping track of sales and my commissons a breeze. I love that I can use it to communicate schedule changes and up to date information with my co workers. We can share our experiences, failures and triumphs with each other. It doesnt feel like I have only been using slack about a year, its seems like I have always used it. Its a great program and I hope that I can continue to use it and grow within my company with it

Cons: There really isn't much I don't like about this software. The only thing that I would say is that when getting alerts it can be distracting and hard not to want to join in the conversations. Other than that I couldn't imagine not having Slack in my workplace

Pros: My team uses Slack at work and I basically live in that app. It manages to solve a bunch of needs at once, from instant messaging, to video chat, to a team wiki, and much more. The open and closed channels (for public and private conversations) are a great way to cut down on emails. The ability to customize your notifications means you can control how often you want to be bugged about what is happening in each conversation, and the alert forwarding means you don't have every device you own ringing with every single message you get. The file sharing and rich search means that just about any in-progress document that is being collaborated upon can live in Slack. We love the Post feature that allows you to create Markup-friendly documents directly in Slack that can be referenced easily. We use them as a sort of knowledge management tool for new users to get caught up or existing users to reference important information. And perhaps my favorite feature is the vibrant development community that has created what feels like hundreds of different plugins and apps. Some of these connect with popular web tools like Google Drive (connecting it will alert you directly in Slack when a document you own has been edited or commented on), or apps designed specifically for Slack. These include everything from chat bots to polls, to much more.

Cons: While it's great that there is a version of Slack for just about every conceivable platform, like Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, etc., as well as a web version, the desktop apps are basically just web containers and don't feel as snappy at times as they could. And while most of my team is tech savvy, some of the tools are not particularly user-friendly for those who aren't comfortable with the things like slash-commands.

Pros: I use Slack to improve the communication between me and my university students. It has significantly reduced the number of emails I receive on a daily basis and has improved the overall quality of communication. Students find it far more informal and faster to get assistance and it allows them to help each other or participate in group topic-specific channels. Many students use it on their mobile devices and on desktop Macs, PCs and Linux machines

Cons: Slacks news support tool allowing users to give other users access to control their pc is not available for Linux users.

Pros: Slack is in my opinion the best way to have quick work conversations that don't interrupt another's work (or mine) like an in-person conversation. Easy to toggle between conversations.

Cons: I have notification settings to be rather confusing, wanting to mute channels but not sure how to. The current method of notifying a channel when someone has joined or left is not idea.

Pros: I love how easy it is to use this platform. It's very intuitive and if you are working with any remote team members, it's a great way to ensure they are included in conversations. I find this platform works better than email when you have little questions or ideas to share quickly.

Cons: I find the channel option harder to use than the direct message features and prefer to avoid it when possible.

Overall: It makes connecting teams easier and more fun to chat together rather than in an email chain. It reduces the time needed to reach a group decision or brainstorm online which is particularly useful when working with remote teams. It also adds some fun into group chats which you might not have in email form.

I simply cannot live without Slack.
You can do a lot with your messages in Slack.

Cons: The login process. I have too many slack accounts and too many slack groups that I don't remember all of them. Sometimes I didn't remember what email I used for a particular slack group.

Pros: Slack is powerful, yet simple to use. From the most tech-savvy members of the team to the least - everyone is able to get value out of it. Using little tricks like always making sure you share relevant resources and documents via Slack (giving a central search location) to collaboration that doesn't require real-time presence, the tool is a godsend. I'm a member of more than one Slack group and switching between workspaces is intuitive, and each space can be easily customized. You don't have to end up overburdened with notifications. The integrations and search are incredibly powerful and often overlooked.

Cons: The only real caveat is teaching your team or users to have discipline in using it to it's best effectiveness.

Pros: I love that slack is the goto place for communication with our company. I sometimes work from home and I always feel connected via slack. It's smart, easy to use, and works perfectly for my needs.

Cons: I do wish slack did a better job at highlighting it's unique features. There are so many shortcuts that I'm only just getting used to. It would have been great to have been more aware of these sooner. Perhaps slack could have fun, did you know tidbits in the app that were easily discoverable.

Pros: Customization and integration with 3rd party software is unparalleled. We are able to integrate our project management software (Asana) directly into Slack, streamlining our workflow while allowing clear communication between team members.

Cons: While its quick to pick up as a simple chat messenger, it requires a bit of know how to set up for optimal use with 3rd party software. Slack has simplified the process to make it easy for anyone though, and tons of documentation should you need help.

Overall: I rarely have to open up my project management software (Asana) any more, since i'm able to control nearly everything from slack with slash commands. notes are added into the appropriate chat channel, allowing a super clear line of communication between my team members and I

Pros: We're distributed team building our own products. Slack helps us to keep all of us on the same page.

Cons: It is a bit pricy, free plan has limited integrations capabilities. It's not a native app that's why sometimes it works not so stable, in really rare cases indeed.

Pros: Slack is super easy to use, and very intuitive. At first, our graphic designer fell in love with it, then one of our developers, and now a majority of our staff are members. We use it daily for our communication, and I have incorporated several third party apps which make it even more critical to our operation.

Cons: The only problem we've had with Slack concerns the notifications and ensuring that people respond to messages posted in the channel.

Overall: Slack has taken the place of applications we were using previously. Through integration, it has combined other tools, such as Freshdesk, Olark, and Pivotal Tracker, so that they can be monitored in one space.

Pros: The slack integration api is the best feature and its one of the features we utilize for real time notifications. Another thing is the recent addition of being able to share screen and draw on top of it so that everyone can see whats highlighted. That is definitely one of the charming features of Slack.

Cons: There have been connection issues lately so I am not sure if its something internal or it's temp. But besides the connectivity, the ability to not see replies to comments inline makes it a bit less user friendly. When someone responds to the comment, we should be able to see it in the chat directly without clicking on # of replies and then seeing them in a different view.

Overall: Productivity and communication improvements.

Pros: Intuitive and easy to use, Slack has quickly found itself as a staple in our organization. I was a little converned at first at how simple the interface was, however, after using the application for sometime I found that it has deep functionality that allows our organization work more effective and efficient.

Cons: There are still many functionality and features that could be added to improve it's effectiveness, namely for mobile devices (smart watches come to mind)

Overall: More effective and efficient communication within our organization.

Pros: The good thing about this tool is that you can access it from multiple platforms and devices. It supports both Mac and Windows and you can choose to access it from your browser or by installing the application locally.
In my opinion, the installed version works best, as happens with most similar platforms but the browser version provides you with the option to access anywhere you are.
The mobile versions of the tool work very well too, so that's definitely something to take into consideration.
One great thing about this tool is that you can create multiple channels and make them private if needed.
One other feature I found extremely useful is the fact that you can create reminders. These can come in multiple ways. To name a couple of options, you can set a reminder for a given message that you want to revisit the next day, for example. Or create a reminder to alert you every Thursday of your one-to-one meeting with your coworker.

Cons: The way you can enter emojis and format your text can be tricky at first if you don't know the tool, but once you do it's actually really fast to do so. On the plus side, there are multiple formatting options as strikethrough, bullet lists, code blocks or blockquotes.

Pros: Slack is easy to use and helps keep the personality of the office culture in tact even with remote teams. The ability to attach files, have group conversations, and keep information in your own threads for later access is fantastic. It works equally well on PC and Mac, which becomes critical when creative and non-creative departments need to communicate often.

Cons: The inability to set an away message auto-response is the only feature that inhibits from five stars all around on this product. While you can set away statuses, nobody ever pays attention to them. This is the only capability that's lacking to make Slack a true e-mail replacement.

Pros: Organizational structure is excellent. Message tracking is awesome. Ease of navigation is by far easier than any other program in its class. If you ever lose your password or don't want to enter a super long one in, they have a great system for emailing you one-time-use codes to connect up. This is extremely handy for new computers or devices when you use long passwords!

Cons: It's a little difficult to find details about how to get access to a group at first but once that was explained, it's extremely easy!

Comments: Great app for team members who need support from their management team who are also working via remote office. It lessens the clutter of unwanted emails as well.

Pros: It helps me monitor and filter important messages being cascaded to remote teams. It keeps me up to date and skip non essentials.

Cons: I only feel that if the tool is not used my one key member (not tech savvy) of the team, we revert back to emails instead of using the slack to let them participate.

Pros: Easy to use, excellent interface. You can create groups and assign roles. Once you get used to it, you can't use anything else. But you have to see the cons first.

Cons: The privacy is not, apparently, important, or it's just a glitch. But you can access (somehow, I'm not gonna write how) groups without being in them (this might be fixed now, I'm not sure). Also, the administrators can see your private messages, which is not convenience for most of us.

Pros: I find the name ironic ,considering how much Slack helps with productivity increase . Easy to set up and use . What I like best it the remote communication option ,which helps you and your colleagues handle everything related to the project as quickly as possible .It is subject to customization and integration of various plugins you may need .I also find the search engine it in to be one of the better developed ones .

Cons: It can be expensive if you need it for a large number of users ,but well worth it . Crashes a lot when a lot of people use it at the same time .
