March 3, 2025 4.0 Overall it is a good and reliable option to register your domain and to build your own website. It requires a bit of familiarity with this type of activity. However, even if you are not that good with technology, with some time you will be able to build something nice. Pros It allows users to build a website from scratch. It is also possible to register the domain with them and to work on the SEO. It provides a good amount of features to customise the website and to position it. There are many templates and it is not too difficult to set up a nice website. Their fees are fair, and definitely much cheaper than using a specialist. So it is worth the time invested in building the site yourself. Be aware that you must pay if you want a domain that does not include the Wix brand in its address, but this is usual and understandable. Altogether it is a good option to build your website yourself, or when you start a new activity and you cannot invest in a professional who builds your site. Cons I used Wix some years ago to build a simple website, and building the website at the time was much easier. They have changed the interface (now it is very similar to Wordpress). Although I am sure that the current interface is much more developed and allows to build a more sophisticated website, the previous one was much easier to use. Had an issue with connecting the domain and she assisted me and connected the domain for me. She was very quick and attentive and I managed to solve the problem very fast. Thanks to \[sensitive content hidden\] once again :) Cons It’s unnecessarily difficult to connect an existing custom domain if it’s not on Wix’s supported extension list. Even when the domain is compatible, the interface repeatedly pushes users to purchase a new domain instead of clearly guiding them through the DNS or nameserver connection process. Has a lot of features and is low coding. However, knoweldge of coding helps a ton. Cons It is a little overwhelming with all the options. Templates help, but taking a template and making a design that really works for you is still a skill you have to build up and spend significant time on. It isn't just plug and play (unless you are o.k. with a very basic site). Pros Prise en main facile et choix de templates . Cons l'envoie par Boxtal ou Sencloud ne fonctionne pas ou présente de graves dysfonctionnements, ce qui constitue une perte de temps manifeste. Tant que Wix n'intégrera pas automatiquement Mondial Relay, comme cela est déjà le cas pour l'envoi postal à domicile, qui est automatique et sans autre option d'expédition, je considère sérieusement quitter Wix au profit d'une autre plateforme reconnue qui propose Mondial Relay en mode automatique ou permet au client de choisir son mode d'envoi. C'est regrettable pour Wix car tout est par ailleurs satisfaisant, à l'exception de ce point crucial qui revêt une grande importance pour les vendeurs à notre époque. He said he'd advise the powers that be that the email is confusing. Pros Service, quick response to possible crisis. After an email in my inbox today, \[sensitive content hidden\] managed to respond to my query within a few minutes and fix the issue within 8 minutes. Cons Some of the themes are hard to alter without significant coding. It is difficult to repopulate different themes when altering older look and feel. Maybe AI should assist? Pros It is nice platform for creating a website from scratch. The drag and drop feature is very user friendly which makes you job easy if you are beginner in website development. Whether it’s a simple portfolio or an online store, Wix gives me the flexibility to build professional sites without needing to code or knowing much about creative tools as with the AI tool it's now even way easier to create it. That’s been a lifesaver, especially when clients want something polished but don’t have a big budget. Pros The most part i like from Wix is the templates and drag-and-drop editor. Even if someone’s never built a website before, they can still put together something that looks great. I’ve used it for blogs, business sites, and e-commerce, and there’s always enough customization to make each project feel unique. Cons The pricing,....that’s where I get a little frustrated. I get that they need to make money, but locking must-have features behind paid plans makes it hard to recommend fully without warning people about the costs upfront. Maybe giving a longer free trial (or one that lets you test all the features) would be a game-changer. For now, it feels like you have to commit before you really know what you’re getting. I have used other webpage page builders and they require extensive knowledge of how to use them. It creates time delays when updating information on the webpage (using other webpage builders). I'd like better templates to keep up with the times on 2026 webpages versus 2020 webpages.
