There is no reason to for even a professional not to want to use Wix. Pros There is no easier way to do web pages, than using Wix. You can have any web page up and running in just a few minutes with little web page knowledge. Just follow the wizards and within minutes your done and live. Cons Few templates to use to make web pages. Templates can be customized, but you are limited. No ideal way to export your web page should you decide to move your service elsewhere. The company has lots of room for improvement with templates and making this simple to use. I have three different websites through WIx and they have been operating almost error free for over three years now! The reliability factor is big in my eyes and I appreciate the fact that Wix takes it serious, too! Cons Sometimes, the layout can get a bit confusing. Pros To begin, it must be made clear that I am not an expert in web page development. However, my work requires certain management and knowledge of the subject. For that reason and speaking from my experience as a user, I can tell you that Wix is ​​one of the best platforms I've tried. If your idea is to build a web page for your business without having to invest a lot of time or money, then Wix may be your alternative. Its simple, in terms of use, is able to allow a person with very little knowledge about the subject or perhaps none, to be able to build a website in about 30 minutes. Owner Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great to get a website setup and deployed quickly" April 21, 2021 4.0 Overall a good choice for your first website as has all the tools you need to get up running, while the free is limited and includes the wix branding on the site it's great to get a feel for what you want to achieve, the add on are easy to set up but some can be quite costly so factor this in if you go for full version which is quite a lot but not much difference to it's competitors. Pros Very easy to set up by selecting from a large range of pre made templates which you can them modify theme colours to match your logo / brand. If your a bit more adventurous you can switch to manual mode which allows a lot more control on just about anything you want to change on the site design. I like the fact that the templates are adaptive so you don't have to worry about how the site will look on different devices. Easy to connect third party applications such as card payment gateways, google sitemap, stats etc. Very easy publish and edit your site on the fly and can easily undo actions if you change your mind about any element of your site. Cons While there are plenty of third party applications I feel that some are quite expensive and are usually in addition to your wix website costs. If you already have a Gsuite business email address its very complicated to integrate your Wix site and this sort of thing should be a breeze. The design of wix sites use proprietary programming so very difficult to move your site design and content to a different platform. Within just a few minutes you will have a visually-appealing website template to start your customizing and content creation. You do not need to be a professional web developer to create a personalized and profession website, using this product. - Intuitive User Interface: A new user will be able to start modifying and adjusting their website by simply clicking on the editor interface. When cursing over a design item doesn't provide the options you are looking for, clicking on items reveal useful options. - Pricing: I like that the basic package price offers full store support, albeit with a few less marketing features offered from the higher tiers. However, for many, the basic package will be more than sufficient to create an online store, blog, or business site. I think this is a huge value. -Wix App Market: In-house marketplace for adding features to your website in a single supported platform. I think this adds a lot of value to users who not web developers (people who would use the Wix service) to add powerful functionality quickly and easily to their website. Accessing features via pop up menus, or simply clicking buttons in the editor can take a split-second for dialog windows or nested interface windows to appear. While the interface is fully functional, a more performance-efficient interface would be on my wish list. -Wix Apps Market may cost you more money to operate your website: Not all Wix Apps are free. Depending on your needs for your website, certain add-ons may drive the cost of your website up. This website that we have for so many years served us as an outlet to reach many and helped thousands of homeless people by recruiting volunteers. I feel that the page had a lot to do with getting the message across to the community. Pros Since I was a young girl I used to engage in many activities. When I got older I started doing some community work and I needed an outlet to communicate to other members and people that live nearby all that we where doing. So, I started a page with Wix. It was the best thing that I could do. It gave me the opportunity to reach to a wider audience, we could share experiences, we had like a magazine style approach to it where everyone could participate in a column and tell different stories and perspectives of the things they experience. We share many testimonies and recruited using the page a lot of volunteers. The templates were so easy to change and customize. Everything was done in a way that it look like we hired a professional graphic designer to work with our page. I love that it help us in some many ways and it didn't not took that much of a time to get to use it and published it. Cons I don't have nothing negative to say about this product. March 7, 2018 5.0 Pros The template designs are nice. Drag and drop functionality works great. Ability to adjust mobile views of the site. Love the ability to create custom Database collections and display, filter, sort them in repeaters or tables. Basic ability to secure pages. Decent addons. Cons They've come a long way since I first started designing websites. The database collections are awesome features. They could add better support for connected reference tables in forms. They could add some sort of user feedback that a page is loading so visitors don't get the impression nothing happened when they push a button link for example and transition to a new view or page. This would be nice since it does seem to take pages a little extra longer than normal static or even cms based sites take to load even with minimal or no extra js added to a page. They could build in filter and sorting features into the drag and drop elements so as not to have to custom code them. Thankfully that isn't too hard as they have good developer grade documentation but for a non developer they could use some more easy follow along code examples; but thankfully the community is really good to help and there are a few examples there. Cons I have only found that WIX is lacking in their customer support, I have been using their services for a long time now. The only problem with them is the late response from the support team. Pros Setting up a landing page comes at a fraction of time compared to programming and even some of the other packages. We managed to link the videos displayed dynamically with Facebook. For a music school this is very useful as our video uploads on facebook are done frequently (several videos per week). Cons The forms need development in terms of statistics. Cons The only real con for me was trying to implement all of the specific interests I had for my business into a specific template. I didn’t have any problems with them until I wanted to leave. I couldn’t take my website and had to wat to transfer my domain name. I don’t think they were holding it up, things just take time. My site with them probably was laughable, but that’s likely due to the fact that I had no expiernexe and Wix gave me a ton of tools to play with. Maybe I went a little crazy. It was definitely easy to use though. I recommend this for someone who likes to tinker, but has no experience in web design. Pros It is an “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) web-based website designed that is supposed to be easy to use. On the plus side there is no coding whatsoever. There’s a lot of dragging and dropping. The software also allows one to view how one’s page will look on a cellphone or tablet. Cons The cost is not horribly unreasonable, but you can definitely go cheaper watching a couple of YouTube videos on how do use a template in Wordpress. I desperately want to move my website over to another product but after all the time spent working on it I don't think it is worth the effort of recreating the website on Square Space or another host. Essentially there are always bugs with my website and Wix does not proactively let their users know when site functionality is down. Randomly I will discover damaging bugs that are hurting my bottom line overall and will desperately try to get in touch with Wix but they outsource all of their front line support and their responders don't get back to you until often times 5-7 days. They say this is due to COVID? But I know their sales are actually up and I'm sure people are looking for work in customer service so I don't understand how this is still their excuse. I would save your time, frustration and money and use a service other than Wix. Just my two cents... Though it has some shortcomings that make the experience a bit frustrating at times, such as the rather counterintuitive photo uploading process, I can only recommend it. Pros I have used Wix as a website administrator since the beginning of 2019, and it is an extremely practical tool. Its inexpensive nature helps you achieve very professional designs and layouts without having to spend too many resources on it (although you do need to invest some time if you want a very polished final result). This includes logos, colour palettes, widgets, banners, templates, and much more. I am very satisfied and I recommend it every time. Cons When launched from older computers, it is likely that Wix will crash several times or that it will not perform as expected (i.e. working too slow). A more optimized version would possibly help avoid these problems, especially for people that are, for example, using their own (rather old) laptop instead of their company laptop.
