Bought my domain for a year and subsequently hired a pro to design my site, everything's worked out great so far. Pros The features are really good, but the customer service is absolutely top notch. Cons It's taking me a little time to learn all the nuances, and that can be frustrating, but overall very happy with it so far. Alternatives considered [FitBudd](https://www.capterra.com/p/227564/FitBudd/) Reason for choosing Wix Better functionality and pricing, support when I want it, but nobody bothering me when I don't. I was able to create a website without any prior experience. Pros The ability to build a very professional website with extreme ease. Cons Sometimes creating the mobile version of the wesite can be difficult, but not terrible. Alternatives considered [Bluehost](https://www.capterra.com/p/229168/Bluehost/) Reason for choosing Wix We chose wix because of the ease to create a website. Review Source Bonnie M. We switched over from another popular website design company and Wix has been so much more user friendly. Some of our staff who are not tech savvy have even learned how to update the website without much additional training. The learning curve just wasn't as steep as the last platform we used. Pros Once the website is set up, it is so easy to maintain, update, explore new features, and edit. Even our non-tech staff members can manage updating parts of the website with very little training. Cons It was a little tricky to set up certain features like the CMS (content management system). It took outside help to get those features set up to meet our needs. Alternatives considered [Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/) Reason for choosing Wix Ease of use as well as we had an administrator who was already familiar with Wix. Switched from [WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/) Wix was much more user friendly and easier to update by multiple staff members as the learning curve was much less steep. Wix is what I use to host my portfolio and allow potential clients to reach out to me. I've used it since graduation and have accumulated years of work on my wix website and honestly would not want to move to any other site because it's really intuitive to use and cheaper than squarespace. Pros I use wix as a freelance artist. I like how I can upload HD sized images to promote my portfolio and have a lot of different tabs for different categories. Cons its good for portfolio and the potential few clients but i can't imagine using this if i were to expand into a studio because it doesn't feel professional Switched from [Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/) it's more affordable, and squarespace is overkill for a beginner small artist type business Review Source SJ Syed J. Business Analyst Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "A non technical guys take on Wix" June 2, 2025 4.0 Overall i think there are more pros to it than cons as the whole concept of making a Website for someone who does not have technical skills is amazing. It reduces expense for a small company just trying to test there product/services out in the real world. Its a great tool to dive deep in to the technical side of business through online means. Pros I love the idea of how you can create your own website with templates already available and ready to use. With just few adjustments a whole new website is ready to use. I love the User Interface for this website that even a non technical person can easily navigate and make a website. Cons If you are someone who is a tech savvy guy and is looking for easy way out, It does not give you full control of everything. For example SEO tools feel pretty limited if you’re trying to really grow traffic. Mobile design doesn’t auto-adjust well either you have manually adjust everything. Plus the support isn’t always helpful Review Source GI Gabriel I. I have to recognize, wix is the canva of website building. Unexperienced people can build something from scratch without prior knowledge. Pros I love the design freedom and that basically anyone, even without experience can build a nice looking website. The templates are also great. Cons It's easy to mess up layouts if youre not careful. Also, the mobile version sometimes doesnt look right and you need extra time to tweak it. Alternatives considered [Hostinger](https://www.capterra.com/p/218357/Hostinger/) Reason for choosing Wix The client felt more confortable with working with wix, so I guess their marketing is better. Pros What I like most about Wix is how it’s a website builder that lets you create websites without needing to code. Cons What I like least about Wix is that it can get pricey with premium plans and harder to switch platforms later. Review Source RA Raqel A. Co-Owner Food & Beverages Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Wix Software" April 28, 2025 4.0 Wix is a more affordable software, but you are getting exactly what you pay for depending on which route you go. To have a more efficient and seamless experience, you have to pay more money. Pros It is one of the more affordable software's you can use to create your business website. Cons It's not the easiest software to use to create your business website. You get exactly what you pay for. Review Source ZD Zina D. Ils n ont jamais voulu me rembourser Pros Voleurs. Malhonnêtes. Pros Ease of use so anyone can work with it without much education. It has a friendly interface even the old can work with Cons Rigidity of the templates which makes it difficult to switch from one to the next. Leads to frustrations when someone wants to refresh the site. Review Source MH Martin H. I learned a lot about website building. Pros Wix was easy to use and packed full of tools (apps) etc. to be able to build websites! Cons The cost mainly, there was a learning curve and some things were hard to find. Switched from [Homestead Websites](https://www.capterra.com/p/174101/Homestead-Website-Builder/) Was hard to navigate and did not have the features that Wix offered Review Source MB Michael B. Pros Customer service is excellent and very quick. Cons Hard to find customer service at first but when you do, it's worth the effort Alternatives considered [Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/) Reason for choosing Wix I couldn't get the images I wanted instead of their templates. Founder Entertainment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Good, but have a card ready" February 28, 2025 3.0 Good in terms of design and features but the whole payment thing could be better Pros Wix provides really good integration features such as Google Analytics to provide data on how well your site is doing. Cons This is unfortunately one of those sites that try to con you out of money. It’s one of those ones where they say you can have a free trial, but then you need to add a card, then to try and remove a card it asks for another. Alternatives considered [GoDaddy Website Builder](https://www.capterra.com/p/182500/GoDaddy-Website-Builder/) Reason for choosing Wix Very expensive and not very good reviews- extremely poor support team. Pros Wix is an accessible for all product and doesn’t require much of an investment into the product itself. Cons You have little flexibility on the URL choice if you create through Wix. Review Source RM Ryan M. Owner Real Estate Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Nice for small businesses, hard to use for scaling" March 26, 2025 5.0 Overall, Wix is easy to use when building a website and creating a brand. However, it's important to note that Wix has a downfall: SEO ranking is hard to improve with its platform. It wasn't until years after creating a website I learned that I wasn't ranking in search engine search results due to the nature of Wix technology. Pros It's affordable and easy to build a nice looking website. Cons It doesn't integrate well with SEO and can be difficult to rank in searches. Review Source DG Damian G. CTO Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Spicy Tacos" March 18, 2026 3.0 Pros One of good recommendation for people which want create website by its simplicity and drag and drop system. Cons UI can ve overwhelming by amount of function and i think pricing is to high, in the end can be more worth to hire someone to create website and host it for way lower cost Review Source SH Stephen H. Head of Product Marketing Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Fairly easy to use. Cons = search & email plans" January 20, 2025 4.0 Overall it was great for launching my business. Easy to use/learn it's editor x design tool.savvyspender.ie has got to the mature stage. To get to the next level I think a customized WordPress site will be the way to go Pros As someone who started off as non-technical, it is fairly easy to use no/low code website builder. I've built SavvySpender.ie on wix and have turned into 100k visitors per year website (pretty good given size of Ireland). It offers plenty of customization options. Cons While it's great for creating glossy e-commerce websites. There are a few glaring downsides in my opinion. It's native search functionality is poor. So if you're building a website with a lot of content this can be a let down. While other providers have integratations with likes of algolia, wix doesn't yet have. Their email plan options are a rip off they've got an option that allows you 5k emails per month with the next tier being 1 million and costing about €50 per month. As business that would want to spend 50K per month I am forced to pay for the higher tier. Wiz has really changed my workload for the better. Cons I wish the price point was more accommodating for the features. Although the features are great, it’s supposed to be geared towards small businesses. Switched from [Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/) More functionality and ease of use. It was better fit for my business needs. Review Source Kennedy K. freelancer Market Research Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "wix review" February 7, 2025 5.0 it has been great, especially when customizing my website and also the free templates are great, especially for beginners. Pros Wix is incridible because it has a lot of templates to start a website project and it is also flexible to use; hence, it is user-friendly, and the app MarketPace is the best because it has a library of apps and plugins to support site owners. Cons the pricing is a bit high and also there is limitation to the extent of not submitting free domains to the search engine and start as a beginner, and it is not open source Review Source TR Tony R. Pros Customer Service from \[sensitive content hidden\] who responded quickly, proficiently and willing to help. Cons No comment, Review Source HS Heather S. Author, Artist, and Owner Arts and Crafts Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Give \[sensitive content hidden\] A Raise!" January 14, 2025 5.0 Overall it's been good. Confusing and tedious at times, but good. I'm so grateful for the human customer support agents that help me tackle the really weird technical issues that I can run into (like SSL certificates suddenly ceasing to work correctly). Pros How fast I can get a page up. I came to WIX because BlueHost had a massive server crash a number of years ago and I lost my site right before I was supposed to have a big online art sale. Since I hosted my domain name elsewhere I was able to point it at a rapidly built WIX site and was able to continue with those plans. Cons Honestly, the lack of a fluid design options in it's WYSIWYG editor. The websites often look rather weird being just a vertical strip in the middle of a large screen. Switched from [Bluehost](https://www.capterra.com/p/229168/Bluehost/) They didn't back up their servers and blamed the inability to get websites back up and running after their massive server crash on the customers. Review Source AA Andrew A. Founder Consumer Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Wix and Match" March 17, 2025 5.0 Pros Wix makes it simple to create a website, giving you many templates and drag-and-drop features for ease of use even without coding experience. They have a number of various apps to integrate into your website as well. Cons Its pricing can add up quickly, especially if you need advanced features like e-commerce or custom branding. The site speed can sometimes be slower compared to competitors, which affects SEO. Also, once you choose a template, switching to another requires rebuilding the site from scratch. Alternatives considered [WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/)[Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/)[Duda](https://www.capterra.com/p/134280/DudaMobile/) Reason for choosing Wix Wix had a better lower tier pricing and easier to navigate features than WordPress.
