Plus, I love that it gives you templates based off of your needs/business to help offer the insight of what will work/look best from a user standpoint. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is building a site for the first time. Other platforms will give you less of a headache. Pros End result of websites look nice. It is easy to create product pages. Cons If you want to change hosts, they make it super complicated. The user face on the admin side is also not user-friendly for beginners who are looking to get started. Designing a website is not user-friendly and you never know if it's going to look the way you want unless you have a lot of experience using the wix platform. Pros What I love the most about Wix is that is a very user-friendly website builder with a simple drag-and-drop interface, allowing even beginners like me to construct and customize websites without any whatsoever coding skills. The platform provides an enormous library of professionally created templates from a variety of industries, allowing users to find a good beginning point for their websites. There is a wide range of apps and connectors to improve website functionality, including SEO tools, social media widgets, and e-commerce options. Cons In my point of view Wix could also improve some points. What I found the most annoying was that once a template is selected, we cannot convert to a different one without rebuilding the whole site. While Wix has a free plan, many of its more advanced features, such as e-commerce and custom domain names, are only available on paid plans, which might be costly for customers with limited budgets. Although I have many years of software experience, I had never built a website before. I looked around and there were many recommendations for Wix, so I decided to have a try. I found the software very easy to use, with lots of built-in tools, all of them very configurable. Within 2–3 days I had a professional, working, website. Because of financial limitations, I only used their free tools, but those were enough for what they needed. The site shows off who they are, what they do, their past and current projects, their future activities, their current and archived newsletters. It has a sign-up for email updates, a contacts page and even a donations page that accepts credit cards. I will probably add a blog, so that our volunteers can talk about their experiences. The chairman was overwhelmed, especially when he saw that the hosting would cost less than they were currently paying. And, given how easy the tools are, I even volunteered to maintain in the future. Pros It was very easy to set up a very professional website in a very short time, despite having no previous website building experience. Cons So far, I have found very little to dislike. Wix is great for startups, and small to medium businesses. Pros How DIY friendly it is for people who don’t have much experience in designing websites. You can build a website from scratch without any coding skill whatsoever. Cons Despite how easily customizable it is for website design, it still feels as if you can’t get the full experience of many apps unless you pay for their premium services, which is understandable.
