I struggled with the interface SO MUCH. I felt like it was always telling ME, what it wanted to do with the website. A friend of ours recommended Wix and the difference was HUGE! I like that Wix continues to update and improve the interface to allow ME to have control, rather than the website building control. I've been using it for our business for the last 5 years and only wished that we had started with Wix in the beginning. Pros I love the easy to use interface and the suggestions it gives to improve as well as speed the process up of my website design. It doesn't fight with me. Cons There are actually so many options and updates, I find it hard to keep up! Switched from [Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/) If I had a coffee shop in New York... I'm sure Squarespace would've fit our business better. It was very frustrating to use as it fought me a lot on what I wanted to accomplish. I found it restricted - but only because I'm so used to coding and making blank pages look exactly how I wanted them. Yes, Wix can help with most of it, I just needed more. This is not a critiscm of Wix, what they do is fantastic. It didn't suit me. Pros It was straightforward, and an easy way to build your own website. Wix even gives you suggestions to get started, the fee includes your hosting (with them). I know it's very popular and aimed at a market of self employed / small business users who have no technical skills in web development. Cons Probably everything that makes it ideal for its users. I currently host with Dreamhost and I run 5 websites using Optimize Press. I found this too basic for me and the managing of sites becomes pricey. I need more control and enjoy building from scratch.
