Pros I like how quickly I can set up a website with little knowledge I like that there are lots of features, templates, and that I can efficiently customize my pages. I have not yet used or tried the Customer Service may be because I did not felt the need so far which is actually a good point. I once was about to call the customer care when it was showing me to upgrade when I already have purchased the premium service. But then the FAQ's popped up and my problem was solved. Pros 1) The interface is very easy to get along. Every option is properly placed in a way that learning curve is not that steep. Anybody can Master it in no time. 2) The smart alignment feature is awesome. 3) Large number of queries are already covered in the FAQs section. 4) Saves files with ease and the track of the release manager feature is great tool. Cons 1) Usage of dynamic pages is not that easy. 2) Lack of proper documentation of Corvid. I mean to say that the Corvid document is very comprehensive but does not cover the specific questions. The documentation is not easy to go through. 3) The guide to connect the premium package, that you already purchased, with the site that you are building should be kept upfront. I thought that as I have deleted the site which was previously connected to the premium package , i will need to buy the premium package again and that is so frustrating. 4) Not telling upfront that when I use the 'Editor X' I will have to pay extra. I once designed the entire website on the 'Editor X' and then came to know that I have to pay extra. It imprinted the bad impression because the same Wix credentials works on the 'Editor X' as well so how can anyone know this? 5) Also the 'Upgrade' Notification is annoying when you already have purchased the premium services. We can edit all business pages and if we don't show any page for google or user then we can easily hide that page. No need to delete any website page and be visible to all users any time. Pros I am using the Wix tool for our multiple clients websites and found good value for business. No need to ask customer login details, we can provide our own email and get access for any domain and manage all Search engine marketing work to boost business search in Google. Wix tool shows us how many visitors visit and from which country so we can create new goals on low ranking keywords. When we edit website pages then wix gives the option to add meta tags. We can easily update Title, description for every page to get keywords ranking in Search engine. Cons We had worked for WordPress and blogger websites but according to my experience wix is also a better option to optimize websites according to SEO guidelines. And I love how easy it is to set up and implement for free and then upgrading that plan. Cons I found myself wanting more specific customization. There's this animation style that comes up in new modern websites that you have to pay more for. The cons are that it does look less nice than websites made on other platforms, there are fewer features you can customize to your website, and their customer service is subpar. Pros Wix is a very easy tool to use to develop your website, especially if you don't want to pay for a domain name then you can create a free website under their company it will just start with www.wix.com/(your website title). It is great for beginners just wanting to get their feet wet in website designing, which is exactly how I started using it. Cons Other Softwares like Wordpress are much more user-friendly, many more themes and free add-ons to make your website much more customizable. The biggest con for me is their customer service. Instead of BlueHost, Wordpress, and many other website developing platforms that provide you a number to directly contact their customer service whenever you want, for Wix you have to fill out an online form and go through all the hurdles of them showing you "is this what you were looking for" to the basic questions before you get to schedule a time when Wix can call you. This might be fine if most the issues users had were very basic (like I said this software is for beginner website designers) but anything more complex than "how do I make a new page" quickly turns into a whole ordeal of jumping through the hoops and waiting for them to call you back. Additionally, if you try to move your website to another website platform (like WordPress) they give you even more problems. Personally, when I tried to move my website out of Wix because I wanted more features, I scheduled a time for Wix to call me to assist and they never even called. I ended up having to have the company I was switching the website into to help me! I was in the market for something to build a simple website for my small business. My friend showed me how easy it was to use Wix... and I was sold! I loved how user-friendly it was and how quickly I could get a website up and running. It took no time at all to create a website with all the features I needed. There were so many templates that they were hard to choose from, but I eventually found one that matched my brand and content perfectly. With just a few clicks, everything was set up and ready to go live! The only thing that bothered me about Wix is their limited storage space on the free plan. However, if you upgrade your account, then this isn't an issue because you have access to unlimited storage space on your account. For those reasons, I would recommend this site building service for those who are looking for an affordable option that offers a lot of great features on their free plan (in comparison with other companies). Pros I loved how user-friendly Wix is. Even if you've never created a website before, you can easily create a beautiful website with Wix. Velo developer mode makes adding code to further customise a site almost criminal how easy it actually is. So many resources Wix makes easy to access, it is very hard to go wrong. Cons Generally, if I encounter a problem I can dig around the resources available to me and find my answer... If I need help with something tricky like a problem with an external file management system or domain I would need to reach out to the support centre..... which would mean either submitting a ticket or reaching out through email and the response (understandably) is not immediate. Pros When i began using Wix i absolutely LOVED the ease at which i made the website look and feel like my own. Customization is very unique and great fun when starting out. Wix is excellent at opening the doorway into a very intimidating aspect of business. It is basic enough for beginners to get a good understanding on web design/blogging and so on. Wix does not feel generic like many of its competitors. Cons Wix is something you and your site can easily outgrow if you're always looking to be innovative. A massive problem for me is the difficulty in viewing images in a gallery. Each image opens a new page instead of click-slide images like other websites. Wix also struggles to integrate apps that are similarly aligned to business. For instance I struggled greatly with applying an ewallet and third party applications. Wix is chunky and slow at times. Particularly when customers get lost in an item gallery and cant get out unless they back-click multiple times or go back to the homepage. Wix does seize up from time to time. You have to do it on the desktop version first so it shows up in the mobile view, then on some occasions you have to hide them. I can't remember properly but I think I tried building my first website when I was in school with HTML, CSS and I saw their ADs on YouTube and thought about giving Wix a try - and I am very happy that I chose to try Wix. I learned that creating a website was a lot easier than I expected - thanks to Wix. Since then I have been using Wix for my personal projects and client projects and from my experience, Wix is the best visual web builder currently available in the market. Its the editor is without any doubt - the best Drag and Drop Editor as its editing capacities has overtaken every other builder. Pros There are many practical templates that we just import and are ready to use - which is the thing that I like most about Wix. There are many builders available now in market with fancy looking templates but most of them aren't practical to use. But the case is different with Wix - the templates are ready to be used - very practical and optimized for mobile devices. This is why I always choose Wix to design websites for clients with small businesses who want to be able to edit details themselves as editing is easy too. With Wix, an above-average computer user can create a professional-looking website and even average computer user can edit websites. I generally get $14 per month plan which doesn't show ADs and gives more than enough storage for most websites. I guess $14 per month for a website is a pretty good price. Another thing I like most about Wix is automatic backups which makes sure that we never lose any information. Cons As a PageSpeed Optimization specialist - the thing I like least about Wix is its slow loading speed. I don't think we should be expecting a blazing fast website when we use Drag and Drop Website Builder. However, I think Wix is enough for small businesses as they are a lot faster than they used to be and their speed isn't terrible. Other than that - I can't think of any cons about Wix. The cool thing is that Wix can use HTML. I had a very old website that was built on HTML and all I wanted to do was transfer that site to Wix. I shopped around to see what it would cost to transfer the files. 300 to 700 dollars. I gambled and just highlighted the HTML files and went into Wix and Wix has a HTML button to add the files on your website. I did it all in less than 5 minutes. I saved hundreds of dollars. And I saved time. Pros The ease of use for someone on my level. I'm a robotics engineer. And I teach robotics on a college level. So programming is not a big issue for me. However, their policies are not flexible and very rigid. You can't always speak one on one such as when you want a refund or credit on unused prepaid subscription time ( in this case they will refuse any legitimate request). Due to their module changes, I had to shut down part of my main website and delete a page as to perform as it did before, now required an unexpected fee due to technology changes. Pros The ease of use in that there is no coding required. This was a big plus. Some other platforms may not work in a cut-n-paste or copy routine due to their architecture. Cons I found that the important part of my website that was built on certain features and apps gets changed and eventually becomes non-functional. So the technology is expanding and requiring more from a user and restricting beginners due to the learning curve that was not there a few years ago. Sometimes it is a bit slow to access these services. And some powerful templates are priced high. Finally, the cost to remove the WIIX ads in the free versions is a bit high.
