As a teacher, I taught my students how to create a site tailored to them, and as a business owner, I use it on a daily basis. I can chat live with my customers, track traffic on the site and see what people look at and for how long. The SEO is great and will really help my business thrive. I also love the ability to customize the mobile platform with ease. Using the customer service or chatbot in Wix, I was able to find the answers to any questions that I had easily, so I would recommend it to anybody. Pros What makes this product unique is that you get much more than just a website. It is a pretty easy to use and affordable website builder. With Wix, you have built-in email marketing capabilities and search engine optimization. Cons At the time I was creating my products, you couldn't add a Product Schema. Good news is that Wix also allows you to vote for features that you would like to see added, so I voted and they granted my wish shortly thereafter. Product Schemas are now available. You can make a working site, but Wix requires you be a little more tech savvy to create a good website unlike competitors like SquareSpace. You do get slightly more customization, but in general, its just not as good of a product when better more intuitive products exist. This is a strictly midling product and I would suggest looking at SquareSpace over this if you want simple, intuitive, cost effective, and aesthetically pleasing modern websites. Its just not a close comparison. That said, if you've already committed to them, you can create a decent website that looks professional for a decent price. In general, these website hosting sites allow smaller companies to "make do" and not have to hire overpaid website developers like days of old. Pros Customization options "if" you are web dev/tech savvy. Mobile optimization is free, not an ad on. Cons Templates are boring and last gen, not modern and with current online website modern designs. Customization is there, and in some instances great, and some instances horrible (such as colors). Mobile optimized, but not very well. You have to test formatting to get it to work often. You can't swap out templates if you don't like it. Data isn't saved well between redesigns. Pros Wix is a great tool for building a website with little-to-no experience! With few exceptions, it is extremely user-friendly and you can churn out a professional site in very little time. Cons The lack of an integration with Medium is disappointing and requires manually entering new blog posts on each platform. The information in the Help section is often inaccurate/out-of-date and doesn't reflect the most recent changes their platform. We're often forced to look elsewhere for solutions or just have to figure out a workaround on our own. It has really powerful features and add-on apps that can bring life and amazing capabilities to your website. Plus they are always improving things... Pros Wix is one of the best CMS website platform on the market. It requires no coding skills and very little technical skills. You do have to be pretty savvy with using design software but they offer a really cool self built templates that you just plug in your information and your good to go. After working with Wix for a couple of years it becomes easier and easier to use. I love their design templates. It makes it easy to design amazing website with little design skills. Cons The biggest issue I have with Wix is that it's sometimes hard to line up images and text with their drag and drop features. Also, their mobile response feature is very weak. You will have to build the site on the desktop and then have to rearrange everything again for the mobile view which can sometimes be very tedious. I had some technical complications that were too hard to figure out with the app and it kept adding costs with each feature until it became unaffordable. Pros It is pretty easy to use and very safe. Almost couldn't even get into my own account. I like the options, the drag and drop ease, the variety of templates etc Cons It started to become very expensive and still couldn't use. I had a hard time with the vast amounts of info and getting customer support. Also found that have to continue to pay as it's rented and not owned. I ended up canceling and going with a professional builder. I would say this is utilized by ALL business or organizations. So easy to use. Probably the best templates in out of all the drag and drop hosting sites. The algorithm that creates sites for you based off of the concept you have is quite powerful and easy to use. The app is incredible and almost has more functionality than the online dashboard. Cons I had issues adding a search bar to my online store. Most items like that require you to pay outside app developers to embed their product into your site for a monthly subscription. All of this hikes up the monthly cost of the site. Customer support was lacking - with every query I sent being responded with the line ' we are aware of this issue and are working to fix it'. In my experience, things were never fixed. Halfway through my tenure with the company, they removed aspects of the software (like music listening statistics for my radio show) and never replaced them.
