Pros The ease that this software gives you is incredible since you just have to select the different themes that you can choose and give life to your page. There are too many templates that allow you to choose exactly the type of page you want to show to your audience, it also helps you to optimize in search engines with the help of answering some questions and other key things to get your personalized SEO plan and to stand out on the web. It makes it so professional, that you will be surprised when you have finished editing the page because it has a wide range of tools that will meet your expectations and even exceed them with the designs that Wix brings for you. Another key point that I really appreciate and that saves your life, is that they have their own mobile editor, which you can access your account and edit your page wherever and whenever, and of course you can continue from where you left off. And one last positive observation about Wix is that when you are editing, you can activate a function, where you can see it from the perspective of a cell phone, which is something pretty cool, because nowadays many of us tend to see the page of various businesses on our mobile, and so we can edit it and make it perfect. Cons There are several positive things about this software, that is a little difficult to talk about its negative parts, I could say that if you have a computer not so updated to the requirements that nowadays they ask in several platforms, you will find some slowness when you can edit some functions in your web page, since being several big files and moving or changing place, it can be a little annoying or not to put exactly something that you want to put in a specific place. Their free website builder is actually substaintially better and has many more features, while their sites on a free level make it obvious to people that they use Wix until you upgrade, every other aspect of the site builder is reasonably sophisticated. I'd consider using this in the future and potentially port it through my own domain however I prefer Wordpress. Pros Low cost website curation provides templated website and many web administration services to customers thus enabling individuals, businesses, and "enterprises" to operate their own web platform. Design services seem like a built in to higher cost memberships. It seems their design platform, UI and integrative tools allow for smooth design builds, with easy front end design capabilities- allowing you to both use code and their design platform to code without it. Cons Honestly anyone with a level of web understanding and ability to do price comparison will likely realize that purchasing a domain and utilizing wordpress to design a site will cost them substantially less on almost all fronts. Any additional features WIX provides likely can be replaced by another means. At one point their free website availability was nice however they do much more to focus on paid subscription services that it negated their free website membership. The best part of Wix is that you don't even need any kind of technical expertise to launch a site. It has a collection of templates that lets you pick one and go live within a few minutes. The sites made with Wix are SEO optimized by default and you don't need to worry about showing up on search engines. Cons Apart from the visual editor, Wix lets you edit the advanced parameters of the website. This is why I don't think it lacks anything for now. Wix has excellent customer service. They hire their employees unlike others who have customer service departments that also service many other businesses simultaneously, so they aren't well versed. Wix also takes calls and does callbacks, so your problem gets resolved while they are on the phone instead of emailing back and forth. They are also available on the weekends. They have taught me how to do things in web design. Cons They don't offer a variety of layouts for their web design. You can build a website from scratch, organizing a main page, a blog and pretty much anything you may need. The templates also help you to have a starting point, but you can personalize most of it with what you want to communicate. If you follow the tips, you can boost your SEO, link it to facebook pixel and Google Analytics. Also, you can buy your domain together with their plan, which helps on saving time. Cons There are many bugs on posting photographs, especially in the distance between each photo on blog posts. It is a small thing, but, since I'm a photographer, it was a lot of wasted time solving these design issues. Also, there were some limitations on the templates that didn't help on capturing leads or building landing pages.
