However, I've seen many people use Wix successfully without having a design background. That's because Wix takes the guess work out of the equation. Everything you need to make your website look professional is at your disposal. This, coupled with the time-saving aspect, makes Wix a winner to me! Pros Wix saves you time. It's easy to use in that I can set up my website easily and customize without any trouble. I get lots of complements on my website, and it's because Wix allows me to make it look amazing. Cons It is a little more expensive than some other alternatives, however you get what you pay for sometimes. Wix saves me time. To me, my time is money. Pros 1\. Wix Editor is very easy to use. From the UI to the widgets you can plug, even a new user that has no experience building websites can build their first one in minutes. 2. The help feature is beneficial and Editor mode is user-friendly. This underrated but extremely important. One of the biggest frustrations in building websites is when users get stuck with certain simple features (table alignment, picture sizes, etc). And Wix's help feature helps debug these issues quickly. 3. The computer and mobile toggle feature is extremely helpful. It helps with knowing how viewers will see the website if accessing from computer or phone. Cons 1\. The pricing is a bit high, especially if I want to use certain features that Wix offers. Even if I want to connect the website to a domain, I would have to pay for the fee plus another Wix plan. 2. It takes several clicks to access the settings of the photo albums and services – if there was a quicker and more intuitive way to access the settings to edit, then that would be helpful. 3. The website preview vs the actual publication of how it looks like in your mobile phone does not always match up, especially on image and table alignment. Wix needs to follow through on the WYSIWYG. 4. Another con is website browser uniformity. Depending on what browser you use, the website UI looks different with each one. Also, I have designed a lot of websites for my clients. I prefer the Wix editor for my projects because I can save a lot of time when I build websites using Wix. Because Wix allows me to design stunning websites without the knowledge of programming languages. So my overall experience with Wix is really incredible and awesome because I have done hundreds of projects for my clients. Pros If you are going to create and design your professional website, then Wix is really stunning and awesome place to build a website. Wix website editor allows you to add content using different components like text, image, button, gallery, lists & grids and lots of other components. The templates are really easy to understand edit. You can build your personal or business website. Even any kind of website you can create using the different templates. Each template has different containers and all are really easy to edit. Cons The tools and features of the Wix website editor are really different and unique if we compare them with other web development editors. During the holiday season we typically earn thousands of dollars in online gift card sales. During the most recent holiday season, there was a glitch in the wix software that was making it impossible for clients to purchase. As administrators on the site, we inserted a link for clients to purchase a gift card. No matter what link we inserted, in a matter of hours the our link was gone and a dead link was in It’s place. Our clients had no way to purchase from us. We spent hours on the phone and computer doing what we were instructed to do by the “help team” without any resolution. We were frequently promised a response from the support and did not get any. The end result was being left to sort out their software glitch on our own. As a business owner, I can not believe how poorly this was handled by their “support” and I would not wish this experience upon anyone else, even our competitors. Pros That I only had a one year commitment. Cons The unmotivated, unhelpful “customer service” cost me thousands of dollars during the holidays. There was an obvious glitch in the software and it took weeks of empty promises from their team that NEVER resulted in a resolution. Our business was dismissed by their “help department”. Setting up is very easy as Wix does most of the legwork. As a person who writes a lot of content and creates a lot of websites, Wix was really a lifesaver! Creating my many websites is so simple and excitingly, I have hundreds of templates to choose from, no matter my the niche. On top of that, there are so many great SEO tools that come in handy, and other apps too. Additionally, Wix is full of rich features that make my work a breeze. The great thing is that even if you are not tech-savvy, you won't get stuck. You only need to make use of the drag-and-drop building tools that are readily available. The best part it also offers a free option for users. Pros First of all Wix offers a free version for web designers and it's easy to use for even beginners, however there are major drawbacks to it, most of the data is kept on databases if someone wants to do such modifications as moving to a new domain name have to contact support to have all pages redirected to the new domain as pages are tracked in databases that customer can't get to or modify. We dropped Wix because of this fact, however it is still recommended for beginner or intermediate users, it's easy to setup and run a basic website on it whether it's a personal website or a small business. Cons Only basic edits and designs are allowed, some important functions are not accessible for users and have to contact support and wait for them to complete your request, this also limits the ability to customize your website. I was forced to use it and will not accept any kind of project using a Wix website. It is simply not a professional solution. Pros If you have no knowledge, you can build a website easily. Cons It is missing features, it is not the most intuitive thing to use (particularly if you have knowledge of web design and you know what you want to do), there are so many compromises with the design. One thing I really didn't like was the free form way in which things are moved around in the builder, it doesn't follow best practice for web design and is way too free form. Finally, you have an infinite number of tutorials on how to use the Software to carry out the most complex tasks or those in which you need help, taking the time necessary to develop your WEB Cons In the free option it will not allow you to have your own domain, the change of the template can only be replaced once the process is 100% complete to make your WEB page again, slow speed of the sites when loading, having to pay to add codes in different platforms. It however still is the best freely available interactive web design platform available so I stick to it. Pros The features I liked most about wix are 1. its ease of use and deployment. It is fairly easy to create a website in wix even without prior coding experience. and 2. Its free version has many funtionalities including SEO intergration, unlike some of its competitors. Cons What I liked least about wix is the ease with which the widgets on website pages tend to get easily disorganised/moved around at times by mistake. This makes the website delicate to handle on some point. But it is something manageable. Pros The customization of designing a professional website is very easy. You can easily see how the website can pull up on desktop browser and mobile devices is very user friendly. Ability of adding additional pages and features is easy. Security was impressive and adding HTTPS was easy. Ability to buy images was simple and there were many free and premium images you can buy. Cons didnt have any negatives on Wix. Easily created a site. having the ability to see on device was great but with so many mobile devices and sizes there are alot of variables. The analytical tools using Constant contact were good, but what we were able to do with WordPress was better. Also the price is good for the kind of service, from a professional business e-commerce site to an event invitation webpage. Cons The only con I would fins is that the I have a hard time to preset the "Theme text" so that I can make my own theme and all the new text boxes have the option to select from the theme text styles, this leads to having to set the font, size and color of every new page or text field.
