Wix helps you not only to create free websites but also it provides you with lots of designs and templates. Wix also publish some blogs to help you so that you can use all the features of Wix efficiently. However, what we want today? Money of course! So Wix also helps you to get some earning by giving you some free-ads as well as paid ones. I think that it’s a better tool offered by tenfold which saves our lot of time and making us effective. At least, you must try it for once (irrespective of its cons, it is a better option). Cons This application gets some bad things also. Do you want to know? Here are those! The Wix may include a lot of templates, designs, themes etc. but working on that is slow even you have a broadband. Another one says that Wix doesn't support much as well as it arouses some problems when it is used in Google Chrome (like click and drag features get jumped, cause misplaced texts, images etc.). Most importantly which you must remember is that if you want to customize it to the fullest you must have to convert the account to premium mode. That’s what I don’t like about it!!Last, I want to say its pros and cons are overweighing each other but still I recommend you use it and get on the path of modernization. Loads of templates to choose from. Quick and intuitive. Drag and drop support instead of coding. Module based subscription to premium features as and when the business grows. Website management dashboard provides easy to learn interface. Cons For most premium features need to pay. It is not possible to change the website template after the site goes live. Is not the cheapest when all features are subscribed for. Page loads slow if it has lots of active x control and resource hungry web parts. Is not recommended for large scale businesses. October 6, 2020 4.0 I really like what I am able to do and have received comments that the website looks very professional. I have had to abandon more advanced graphics because it slowed things down so much that it made the site inaccessible to people with slow internet connections. Pros Easy was to set up own website. I used a template and changed nearly everything about it over the years but it was an easy way to get started. There are a lot of cool features and visual effects allowing people with more skill to do more but easy enough for just about anyone to start something basic. Cons My biggest complaint is that I pay for a version above the basic and a Wix ribbon is still displayed at the top of my website. It makes it look like I am using a free option. My second biggest complaint is the editing box that pops up when entering or editing text. It takes up too much space and overlaps the text I am working on. I can sometimes close the box and keep working but other times it also de-selects the area I am trying to work on so that I have to re-select the area and the pop-up comes back. There area some other features that are not necessarily user-friendly or really intended for people with no background or experience with website design but I can get around ok and it works well for my needs. Pros I Appreciate how easy it is to create websites with this software. It has next to no learning curve. This software has a lot of templates and extensions that add extra functionality to its websites, and I appreciate it's extensibility. Lastly I like the pricing and hosting options for this software. Its very affordable and offers a lot of website management tools. Cons Its a shame they don't have a free version for students. I think free trials are the way to go to find what works well and has the right options and integrations needed for your business. February 9, 2021 4.0 Overall I really have liked Wix but unless they resolve the limitation of not having responsive web design, I will have to switch platforms. Pros Wix is a great website development platform for those who want to create their own website without having to be limited by Squarespace's templates or getting too technical with a Wordpress site and all the plugins and extras needed there. There are a few different ways to design a site so whether you want to use a template or fully develop your own site, Wix will work for you. Cons The major (and really only) downside I have found with Wix is that the websites are not automatically responsive (so the mobile view needs a lot of redesigning in order to look and function well). This is a HUGE con because most users today browse the web with their mobile devices. While you can make some adjustments to the mobile view, you are quite restricted and it takes a lot of back and forth to come up with designs that work on mobile and look great on desktop. With the option to use a base template design, it's easy to create your own personal website in a few minutes. I work most of mine from scratch and then hand it over to my client once they're happy with it. The fact that it's mostly dragging and dropping different widgets, makes it easy for me to train and provide support for my client's who have chosen to build and publish their business sites using Wix. Cons I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Wix. As with anything digital, whenever there's updates etc. there's bound to be some bugs here and there, but those eventually get ironed out by the next update. It truly drags and drop and requires absolutely no coding. They are constantly updating their templates to include more modern styles and trying to keep up with the competition. They have a wide variety of media elements and templates specific to popular styles of websites such as education, medical, and media production. Cons I least like the modern templates that they supply. I think their competition does this better, but they are catching on. I do hope that this will continue to improve. I have created several websites for customers and friends and just taking the time to get their visions and create them with such ease is what I like when I deal with Wix.com. I think when you pay for the more premium platform there is a better option to be more creative for the website you are designing. I am excited to try that in the future if a customer permits and pay for the upgrades at that time so I can see what Wix can do on a more premium level. Pros The features I liked most about this software is that it was easy to maneuver around. I am a veteran of graphic design and webpage setup/creation. But for someone that doesn't have that experience it was easy to get started and create a webpage that is appealing, graphically appealing, has the information that you would like displayed and all at just a click. It is very user friendly and guides you through the process with simplicity. You will like Wix and I'm sure with a little time and effort and your creative juices flowing, you can create a spectacular website that is user friendly and your customers would appreciate. Cons The only thing I can think of is that sometimes a customer would want a webpage that isn't like the others offered. I ran across the basic platforms to have the same familiarity. In other words, I can tell that all the webpages that would be created are square in the initial page with pictures that are also square.
