### "Version 2.0 ruin the functionality "

Previously, I would have said this program has some issues, but it gets the job done, and it's fairly easy to use. Now, I would suggest that anyone looking for an invoicing program to choose anything else. The convoluted processes and programming are just not worth the cost.

Pros

Shopmonkey version 1.0 was very functional. It wasn't perfect, but it was as intuitive as I think invoicing could be. The features made a number of tasks, like running reports or processing payments, decently quick.

Cons

Since we've been forced to update it has been a nightmare. So many features have been removed, it's almost not functional for our business. We would prefer to switch programs, but we have just over 5 years' worth of data essentially stuck in the program. We used to have a direct contact to help us with questions/concerns. Now, we can't get those same people to reply to our texts or emails, and the front-line customer service can't help with much more than "Did you turn it off and back on again?"

Let me put it like this.... they are getting a 1 star rating because I don't have the option to give them a zero. One rep doesn't spout the same info as the next...it's like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing... I don't think they really know what they're doing it seems.... maybe they need more training so that everyone gives out info that matches. They apparently have no concept of customer service and "continuity"... just got a call from \[sensitive content hidden\] when I was "told" that \[sensitive content hidden\] was my account manager....I already had an in depth conversation with \[sensitive content hidden\] and I explained to \[sensitive content hidden\] that I would prefer to deal with \[sensitive content hidden\] because I don't have the time to re-explain to her all of the things I already previously explained to \[sensitive content hidden\]. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY AND FIND SOMETHING BETTER !!!

Their initial version...version 2.0....horrible.... Do your due diligence and look at other software options... which is what I'm about to do as soon as I finish writing this review.....

I liked Shopmonkey 1.0 version...the design team for version 2.0 took a very snooth easy to use software and made it much harder to use and requires more keystrokes and mouse usage for functionality..... FAIL... their tech support customer service is SLOW to respond and ineffective when it comes to providing resolutions.... My first conversation with them after the MANDATORY upgrade where I listed no less then 10 problems or glitches that I noticed within the first day of usage of the 2.0 version has apparently fallen on deaf ears and not a single concern of mine has been addressed or rectified in any way.

My overall experience with this tool has been exceptionally great. It has seamless features that helps us fix issues with efficiency.The dashboard is intuitive and very easy to use.

Pros

I like that Shopmonkey has great customer support team that is highly responsive which is very essential as employees do not face any challenges that could cause downtime. The tool has great reporting and analytic capability which helps in diagnosing devices bugs thus enabling us to fix issues on time.

Cons

Shopmonkey has been an exceptional tool for us, it has great features that helps ensure our devices are in shape 24/7. I do not have any dislikes.

Version 1.0 was usable but 2.0 is an absolute disaster. Save your money, this product was written by a toddler with an etch a sketch.

Pros

There are no pros. This 2.0 is absolute trash. I wish I could give you 0 stars because this thing is horrible. PLEASE PLEASE do not waste your money on this failure of a software. I've gone to using handwritten tickets instead of using this crappy software until I can find a good replacement.

Cons

Everything. Constant bugs, constant problems. Customer support is non existent. Reports aren't accurate, sales reports aren't accurate. Inventory isn't accurate. Adding new inventory is frustrating, complicated, not user friendly and cannot be edited without starting completely over on an inventory item. Avoid this trashy company.

This software has cost us thousands in its lack of efficiency, do your research and go elsewhere, cant even reccomend another place it will have to be what directly coorelates with your business

Very little pros about this software to be honest, Its great until you realize how much its lacking and horrendous client support

Where to start with this, horrible account reports, integration errors, constant client complaints, no away messages, very antiquated, no management reports for over runs on labor times missed punch outs anything

Great, if you work it properly. If not, don't expect much help from them. It's intuitive, but there is opportunity for many errors if you don't operate the software properly.

Pros

Shopmonkey does a great job of making the workflow easier to manage. It's very intuitive, and the guys at the shop enjoy using it. The team that onboarded us gave us full confidence that they would help us merge it with QuickBooks seamlessly.

Cons

The merge has had some hiccups. The team did not have the foresight to start the invoice numbers in SM at a different number than the invoices in QB, so we had a big mess the first month of performance. Also, the team has to actually push through the workforce for it to work properly, which doesn't always happen, so again, more hiccups with QBO. It is hard getting someone on their QB knowledge team to help with issues.

Started off good and than just keeps getting worse have asked to cancel for 2 months now ans still not canceled and they have charged a old card thats not on the account anymore for a subscription i canceled and of course cant get a hold of anyone .

Pros

Shop Monkey is so simple to use compared to competitors. It is user friendly for those of us not super online.

ShopMonkey can run a bit slow. It has lag between clicks and pages.

I hope they do better than this. this is very sad. I have tried to work with them and even spent an entire month convincing my team we would switch to them and now i am utterly embarrassed. This company is all about grabbing people in, and once youre in they dont care about you. I run a shop with 10 employees, 30-40 cars a month. This is NOT the app for us. They are way behind and still developing as they go along. That much is clear.

You can create an invoice like any other app.

Cons

EXTREMELY BEHIND ON UPDATES and NEEDS TONS TONS TONS OF SUPPORT WHICH THEY DONT GIVE YOU. Try calling their support line... oh wait, they dont have one. You have to WRITE to them through the website, through a messenger app... and theyll reply when they feel like it. Kicks my employees out of the app on their phone randomly. The system for the mechanics to use is very convoluted and not easy to use.

On a side note Customer service is really responsive and gets the job done as far as whatever is within their abilities but I feel like I should not have to contact them as frequently as I do to report as many issues with the program and hope for changes that have not happened since we started using the program. I hope things change with version 2 of this otherwise I will be looking for other options after our contract ends.

Canned services are really well managed. Customer service and other staff are responsive and helpful. Work order Management definitely saves me a lot of time on the daily

UNABLE TO PRINT INFO PROPERLYWe do a lot of head gasket repairs at our location and the fact I can't print out torque sequences for my technicians is disappointing. I understand the issue lies with MOTORDriven , the company used for labor times and information, but If I'm paying for a full-service subscription I expect to have access to everything I need. I shouldn't have to go back to Mitchell, go to first call online , or screenshot my screen and print on microsoft paint when the information is right there. DEFERRED / DECLINED SERVICESWhen its working its a great feature, it allows us to easily access previously declined services to recommend again the next time they come in. Recently for about ~2 months it has not been working properly and I have to do extra steps to get that information in a new quote, nothings going to be done about from my understanding as they are releasing a new Version of shop monkey but again I'm paying for this service I would like to have access to it. UNABLE TO LOOKUP LABOR SERVICES INTERMITTENTLYSometimes we punch in the VIN and we cannot look up labor times for anything. I unlink then re-link the vehicle no change. Start a new ticket and sometimes it will work. Pending Bug to be fixed but likely won't be addressed and Version 2 is underwayVIN LOOKUPI'm sure there are much better options out there I don't know why they stick with the one they have.UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WHEN SYSTEM IS LAGGY / DOWNRan out of characters to continue

I like that we can schedule and make an estimate/invoice to save double writeups and also that we can get authorizations in a timely fashion.

The Point of sale for parts only is making us have to hold a double inventory management system.

With the system only being about 2 years in development, Shopmonkey has outdone other programs which have been around for many years. The owner of Shopmonkey, Ashot... has been EXTREMELY accommodating in pushing features into the app which we otherwise would not be able to function without. He literally EARNED my business. I would note that it may been under unique circumstances though. My automotive related business was a little different than their existing services which they supported. We actually do vehicle wraps and vinyl graphics for personal vehicles as well as commercial advertising. I believe that Ashot saw a need to support these features in an attempt to expand the reach of his software to include my industry. The near future for us with Shopmonkey looks extremely promising. The planned features will incorporate practically everything we could ever ask for from this app, if not more. Our shop workflow relies on this system and Shopmonkey has truly made our POS/CRM system so much more seamless. Customer interactions function directly through the app, so everything is in one place and easier to track. I am truly impressed and thankful to have found these guys.

Pros

This app is extremely intuitive and thoughtful. Where many apps fail on UI, Shopmonkey has excelled at providing a beautiful interface with features that make sense. The customer service is unparalleled with in-app chat, directly connecting you with the developers and Shopmonkey LISTENS... they have an amazing feedback section which allows users to post app suggestions, comment on suggestions and rate them up! Once Shopmonkey moves the features into planning or development stage, the suggestions get tagged as such and the features that were requested, actually get incorporated into the app!! Maybe not all of them, but whatever makes sense of course and whatever has the most demand.

Cons

If I had to say what I "liked the least" about the software... would be that it was still in it's early stages and still being developed. This isn't exactly a huge downfall and there are actually advantages of this like the fact that I feel we have a bit more leeway to get features we want incorporated... but.. certain features that are a bit more advanced or just plainly further down on their development roadmap, well those are just things that we have to wait for... excitedly. There 'are' negatives associated with software which is in its early steps.. some people may not be able to work with features that may be temporarily "buggy" or lacking. I personally am a "little" anal retentive with things like this... but after searching for software which was available to my industry... and using many different application "free trials"... I saw something in Shopmonkey which didn't exist with anything else I could find on the market. So, in short... the things that I like the least... are by far outweighed by the things I like about the app.

Pros

The software is very easy to use and pretty much covers everything i need to keep up with trucks that are coming to my shop, what trucks are here at my shop, keeping up with my parts inventory and billing jobs out with ease. I am very happy with shopmonkey. Whenever i have a question or concern the chat link is always in the lower right corner of the screen with the shopmonkey team ready to help me! This is one of my favorite features! i type in my question and within a few minutes someone is chatting with me to help me figure out what it is i need to do and if that doesnt help they will call me within minutes. There is no waiting hours or until the next day for help. When adding parts to your inventory it asks for the price oyu paid for the part and then allows you to choose the % mark up you want on it. It does all the math for you which saves time. My favorite feature is being able to send invoices with the option for my customers to pay the invoice online. I am very happy and will stay with shopmonkey!!

Cons

Now for the bad....well, to be honest, there is no bad that i have found yet. Sure there are a few little things that I would like to change but heck, a lot of things in shopmonkey are editable to customize it to your liking. I have been using this software for roughly 6 months now and i am still learning. As of now, I have no complaints.

Reason for choosing Shopmonkey

I chose shopmonkey because when i asked for more information on their website, i received a response VERY quickly. A shopmonkey team member chatted with me, then asked permission to call me and did jus that within minutes. We set up an appointment and at that time he had me get on my laptop and we shared screens. Not only did he go through the whole program, but let me open and close tabs, type things in and save them so i could see where things were after being saved etc. I really enjoyed the training me gave me and he was in no way pushy at all about choosing his software. The people at shopmonkey are great. Being able to work with people who are so kind and ready to help so quickly makes me feel confident in the software used to keep my business going. This feeling is by far the best part of shopmonkey.

Shop Monkey runs my whole shop on a daily basis, its the first thing I open when my system comes online and the last thing I close when I go home. it manages my employees time, customers, scheduling, parts and my daily workload, not to mention all the financial data you need to run your shop. When I started with shop monkey I required a software to help guide me in the right direction and have everything needed that maybe I would not have thought of to run and manage my business. I will admit at the very beginning I found some things missing and with some struggles. But the support and growth of Shop monkey quickly rose to meet my needs. Shop monkey team worked on every one of my requests and concerns and built it in to the success it is today and at a very quickly pace, working though all my needs. I am very satisfied in the direction it has and is going. I'm excited to see the next new things that come to production in the software.

Pros

It had a new updated technology look and feel to it, was not the old typical updated Green screen look with some windows added. Was easy to navigate, and I was looking for a web based software that I did not have to constantly be upgrading software hardware and OS to keep running.

Cons

Was missing some of the deep in depth business functions, that have mostly been added already. it needed more functionality in administration of users functionality and controls. that have also been fixed. Reporting was missing features and has been much improved.

I will give you a quick idea of my background so what I say here has more weight. I left automotive to go into IT and was an IT engineer for 22 years before going back to automotive, so I have a very deep understanding of technology and software and knew what was best for me and my shop. I chose Look and Feel and newer generation of software platform to the others that where old software redesigned to look pretty, but because they are all build on older platform software they will have to rediscover and rebuild to get to the next generation software like shop monkey. I didn't want to have to go through that kind of transition later when the other companies realize they need to catch up and while in the middle of running a busy shop. so I went with one that was already built for the next generation of software.Thank you!

The time savings and accuracy are astonishing, I don't know how other shops work without it. From inventory to POS Shopmonkey is great.

Pros

I love how easy it was to set up and how much easier it is to use. Their customer service is the best I have ever delt with and I can't stress this enough. The people that I have had to get help with are all amazing. It is super refreshing how amazing they are at customer service. The software is bad ass and so are their team.

Cons

It would be great if they would add the ability to add photos and videos to the service lines, for the web version of the invoice that is sent to your customer, not a deal breaker at all though.

I was able to do the setup process myself in a few hours and they offered a team that onboarded you for free. That is how easy and powerful it is.

This software is the foundation that allows my business to operate. Highlights for me (running a custom van conversion shop): - Being able to speak to customers in a threaded message system with email and SMS - so good. Allows you to quickly pull up a conversation thread when the customer calls or drops in, and in an instant refreshes your memory on what you last talked about. Essential when you have many leads, and a complicated product or service where it is not straight forward and there is a lot of communication needed with the customer - The 'board' view in the workflow tab. Another great feature where you can progress customer projects from left to right in a Kanban style. Instantly see what where projects are at and triage/prioritize. - Tech time clocks. Self explanatory, but a life saver and yet 3rd party app eliminated! Techs can just clock in and clock out and it gives me as the owner, total granular detail on what projects took a long time, and where improvements need to be made - Integration with Quickbooks. As as long time small business owner, I have always loved using Quickbooks, so when I found out that Shopmonkey integrates (really well) will Quickbooks, I was very pleased. All of the front end dealings with customers can happen in SM, and then when they are all paid, it auto updates and ties everything back to QBO. Amazing! Can't recommend this product enough.

Cons

The inventory management and ease of sending out POs to vendors needs some improvement. The basics are there, but some additional functionality would be good.
