Pros Looker allows companies to create all business intelligence initiatives using comprehensive data sorting and analysis features, from ideation to visualization. The platform is professional, easy to use, and integrates with many other programs, making data entry and export a breeze. Looker enables non-technical managers to use reports and dashboards to explore, discover, and view data dynamically. It also stores all data in the cloud, allowing the members to work together at any time and get the best results. Pros Looker is incredibly easy to use, and it easily scales with your technical abilities. As an Analyst, I can create very easy to use self serve reports for stakeholders. This saves time and effort for both parties. Looker also has a very intuitive way of organizing data and letting you quickly visualize data in your warehouse. It is reliable and the data visualization options are abundant. Our leadership team is miles ahead of others I've seen because of how quickly they were able to learn how to use Looker. Cons I don't necessarily see this as a con, however I think there is a big opportunity to help guide some new users through some of the more technical setup of Looker. Cons It's not the easiest tool to grasp when you first start using it. The ability to view and filter reports from the highest level down to deep niche data should be simplified. I like the ready-to-use templates that Looker provides. Also, Looker can deal with complex reports and can show KPIs on multiple dimensions. Cons Google Looker is a great tool and beneficial for any business type, it is all about its advantages, and in my opinion it does not have any single problem or a disadvantage. Pros We have used Google Data studio in the past and now using Looker for creating dashboards and building reports. This has been very useful tool for us to compare data and infer insights out of it. The best part of this tool is the data gets refreshed automatically and the reports can be checked realtime. Cons No issues using Looker. It works great and loads data pretty quickly. Many different visualization options to show clients what is going on with their customer behavior and identify trends. Cons This might be an internal thing, but sometimes when I make a bunch of a changes to a dashboard and click Save, I get an error message. Pros After creating a dashboard with all important data for my website it was very easy to keep track and visualize my websites metrics. I have integrated Analytics, Search Console and Semrush in my main dashboard get a better view over my Business's website, making it very easy to see where I can grow. Sharing the dashboard with my colleagues it was very easy and everybody can keep an eye. Cons Dashboard setup was a little tricky until I found the exact data I wanted to display. E' quindi possibile utilizzare e incrociare dati anche da diverse fonti, tra varie organizzazioni aziendali, senza il coinvolgimento di un BI per ogni operazione. Cons Spesso è molto lento a caricare, immagino dipenda dal set dei dati inseriti - certo, se la velocità non segue le possibilità di customizzazione, il tool perde un asset fondamentale. Our R&D team is monitoring deployment of product using this data. We are also give customer access to their data (with row level security) Pros very quick deployment, self serve abilities for the business users are very high. Mediation layer management is very good, it is "Code" based and not setup based so it is very easy to replicate/versioning and find "Hacks" to many needs, and versioning is managed by GIT. Support is amazing, always available. Cons Still lacking a little bit on the graphic side, Would really love to have some more buildin dynamic graphs. I shared a link with the people who I need to report and they can see the evolution daily, no more reports requests. Pros This is a great FREE software. It connects multiple data sources and let you create complex dashboard for data analytics and visualization. Sharing the report saves me a lot of time, i just send the link of the report or export a PDF file and send it. All the charts are updating daily and it can give you a live report of your numbers. October 5, 2017 5.0 Pros For your developers, the customer service is superior. They also do a great job reaching out to your primary users. With respect to frontend users, those using it for simpler data retrieval/review, their interface is rather easy to use and logical to work through. They do a lot to make the system as simple as possible. Only your BI developers and/or data engineering team can clutter the space. Cons If you decide to purchase the non-customized version, the color palette Looker uses is rather bland (More noticeable to executives and heavy users-most users will be fine with it though). The company's integrations are rather limited, but supposed to improve with Looker 5 (via the Action Hub). However, it seems that most integrations will require purchasing from third parties, instead of being a Looker hosted and "controlled" solution you purchase through them. Where we've found challenges is in the specific data dictionary and set-up, which internally was not well prepared prior to implementation. Pros The ability to compare data from different sources in one place is great - this allows us to better understand our user base, their performance on our platform - everything from health to revenues and the nuances we use to grade and measure our users. Cons Looker provides lots of flexibility in its set-up, but that could create confusion in the user experience. You need to really know what you're doing, understand data and its presentation to set Looker up to be most optimal. If would be great if Looker could visualize better, and also allow for over time analysis. It drastically cut down the effort our analysts have to spend answering routine questions and allow them to focus more on the value added activities. Pros Things I like about this product: 1. Ease of use by our users - very intutive 2. Integration with our big data platform and databases. We use ours with Redshift and Aurora and they take most advantage of both systems. 3. Their super awesome customer support - always available chat who are really good at what they are doing. 4. Custom install options along with their hosted solutions. 5. Their whole team is involved with the product and customers top down. Really appreciate their responsiveness and customer-centric approach. Cons We really don't care about visualizations, but that can use some improvement to those who care. The LDAP integration setup is a pain. It works well once it's all setup. There is no roll-back once a version is installed. Work around is to restore from a backup. Would love to be able to do that as sometimes things don't always work the way we are used to and might require a rollback. Review Source Antonio B.
