We are looking forward to growing with them as they add features. Pros The customer support team at Sortly takes the most hands-on approach out of any other CRM software we have seen. They value their user's opinions and prioritize consistent updates and additional features to their product. January 27, 2025 5.0 Sortly has assisted us in many ways, including minimizing costs, reducing time needed to manage our inventory, giving us the ability to quickly view our current inventory status, and greatly reducing paperwork. Pros Sortly is very easy to use. Support really listens to requests for enhancements and implements changes quickly. There are so many different ways to use this app. Cons We have been using Sortly for over a year and find minimal issues, and when we do, they are quickly addressed. One thing we would like is to have more available users in the Ultra package. We could utilize more of the features available within the app if more of our employees had a login and access to the app. Alternatives considered [Restroworks Inventory Management](https://www.capterra.com/p/214036/Restroworks-Inventory-Management/) Reason for choosing Sortly I do not remember the alternates I reviewed prior to purchasing Sortly. Homeowner Individual & Family Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Unreasonable Subscription Model" February 24, 2025 1.0 The ease of data capture and inventory creation for home users was offset by a bait and switch subscription model. We spent countless hours setting up our home inventory in their system only to find s ourselves held hostage by an escalating subscription model that just crested $299 per month. This is highway robbery for consumers who only use their system for managing a home inventory for insurance purposes. When one considers how businesses transact and manage an inventory vs a home user, it would seem relatively simple to create pricing models that focus on monthly transaction volume as opposed to just record count but they were unwilling to work with me on a reasonable solution other than reducing the items in my home inventory. We have since found an alternative solution that works similarly, could import csv data and that charges less than 10% of Sortly’s monthly subscription. Pros Excellent software. Easy to use. Mobile and web apps are great. Cons Ridiculous pricing model. Punitive to home inventory users who transact only once or twice per item and really only use the app for data storage. Unwilling to work with home inventory customers as their primary focus now is on business users. Pros Easy to use for first time user. Helps inventory tracking for everyone in our company can see where and when/where things get delivered. Showing the rest of my team how to use the app really helped on tracking items down if I wasn't available to answer right away. The Sortly team always seems to be adding new features to help improve the app. Cons Can't just drag and drop files to folders. need more than 8 pics to add to a folder. In the phone app, I can't seem to open attached Emails in a folder but from the computer I can. Would be nice to attach more than 3 PDFs to a folder also. We \*just\* need to track inventory, but we need to track a lot of it. Pros Easy to create folders and items, easy to change quantities, app makes it simple to teach others, reporting is robust. Cons Too many features that we don't use. This is especially frustrating when we have to then pay extra for features that will never be helpful to us. Enterprise edition should be an a la carte situation. We recently had to drop to Premium from Enterprise due to an exorbitant price hike of over 77%. That is an untenable change in price. Seeing as this was only our first year with Sortly, we can no longer feel secure that we won't be hit by another surprise price hike down the line, and will begin looking for alternatives as soon as possible. Alternatives considered [Asset Panda](https://www.capterra.com/p/142562/Asset-Panda/) Reason for choosing Sortly They were more expensive (I do not believe that is the case anymore), and their product was a bit more complicated, so training staff would have been more of a challenge. Switched from [Microsoft Excel](https://www.capterra.com/p/176574/Excel/) We switched from a combination of PantrySoft, Homemade Spreadsheets, and a medical equipment tracker. We switched due to ease of use, and other programs having features we did not need, even though Sortly was more expensive than those others combined. It has made things simpler and take less time, which we appreciate! Pros Our favorite function that Sortly offers is the ability to review reports across all functions from inventory levels to user activity. When mistakes are made, we are able to see exactly where, and not let things fall through the cracks. Being able to backdate on that is huge for us. The ability to organize is also key, my team & I appreciate the folder/subfolder setup, and the integration with other software. We also love the ability to add photos, this makes it very easy for people of all knowledge levels to find what they're looking for. Cons We are not able to make changes to the unit after an item has been created, nor are we able to add variations to an existing item if not done initially during the creation of an item. These are our 2 quarrels at this time that we would love to see fixed. January 24, 2025 5.0 It is a great tool for what we are doing, and I am very happy with it. Easy to navigate, easy to learn and overall, a great product. If I had one wish, it would be a module for maintenance attached to my fleet. It would be great to click on a truck or forklift record then manage all activity with that piece. I would also be happy if I can interface to maintenance software via EDI so I can use Sortly as my dashboard and entry portal. Aside from my greedy wish list, I love this product. Straight A's. Pros Photo capability, Unique ID system, cloning ability, editability. Cons I want to print an entire inventory report and can't seem to get that done. I also have redundant photos which I would like to drag into another record but can't. Lastly, I would like this to be available offline when I'm disconnected. Pros ease of use for the end user, as a field service tech it is easy yo loonand see my inventory, as well as the inventory of other trucks near me. Cons It seems to lag or show the incorrect inventory occasionally. I wish it had a shopping cart, or macro keys you could set up for items that get used alot togather, so instead of having to move each item from your inventory to the store it was used, you could just add to the cart or list and then move the entire thing to the store or location where it was used. I do like the mobile app as you can scan items barcodes and Sortly will do its best to lookup the UPC and pull the info for you saving you time. Cons I dont like that there is a limit to the amount of subfolders you can have which made us re-organize our entire inventory layout. Cons Better integration for automatic inventory updates would be helpful. If the features do exist they may have been complicated to set up which is why we currently run without automation. I've been using it for the last 6 years to keep track of numerous items in the live music industry to track locations of gear. Not in real time but to keep an idea on locations and after building up a database and particular QR code templates, it works so well and really takes the stress out of freighting hundreds of items of equipment around the world. Pros I love the scanning ability and the real time way everything updates across devices. Also, the way you can categorise everything. Cons Not much but the scanning ability in the dark can be troublesome and needs to reset the torch element of the app sometimes. We are a small nonprofit and we had been attempting to use spreadsheets and databases to track our usage of materials and supplies. We also depended on paper tracking to report our consumables to funders. Sortley has changed everything for us, it has been a real blessing. Pros I love the ability to scan and update using a hand held scanner or the phone. Sortly has changed so much for us. We can now make accurate predictions about costs going forward as well as project costs related to expansion activities. A real godsend Cons I wasn't crazy about the setup for creating and using bar codes. Maybe with some practice and some tweaks it will be more effective for me but I haven't had a chance. Having the ability to print a sheet of different barcodes would be the most beneficial. If you have to put different labels on multiple products but you only have avery labels for copier. It's easy to grasp without losing site of more advanced use or integrations such as Microsoft Teams compatibility. Pros Interface and ease of use. I also love the ability to structure inventory levels at multiple sites using the folder structure. Cons I have no real dislikes but I really wish there was a dark mode theme available. Its not a big deal but it'd be nice to have some customization to match company colors and what not.
