Database Administrator Hospital & Health Care Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Time and stress saver" February 28, 2019 5.0 ImportOmatic has saved us a lot of time and stress in trying to map fields to Raiser's Edge and completing the imports. It is effective at locating duplicates and it's nice to have the options for creating queries of the records changed. Pros ImportOmatic has allowed us to do custom imports into Raiser's Edge with very little time, and sometimes even with little setup of the import profile. We have been able to import data into specific fields that Raiser's Edge's import feature does not allow us to do. And if there are exceptions, the ability to cancel the whole import until you can revise the profile is a lifesaver since it prevents you from making any changes in the database that you would have to undo. Cons There are still some fields that are not mapped to import, but I have come across them too infrequently to be able to name them. Review Source MS Mubo S. Pros I like that it is very fast in uploading records into Raiser's Edge. I also like that it scans records and suggests if records being imported into Raiser's Edge should be matched with a record already in Raiser's Edge or if the incoming record should be added as new records, etc. Cons Setting up dictionaries can be a bit challenging. Pros Its easy to use - user friendly. Easy to train others. Cons Sometimes just shuts down out of nowhere. Does not always catch duplicates. Does not catch proper case files and just creates duplicates for them. It makes importing easy for all level RE users. Pros Ease of mapping fields and detailed process doc makes importing records easy. However, it is clunky and limited, without the ability to tailor it to our specific needs. Pros It does what we need - enables mass import of large quantities of data Cons It's inflexible - we have to do a lot of workarounds to make the data fit Most frustrating - every time Importomatic makes an update, we have to re-map EVERY profile, which is time consuming and frustrating (especially when updates are too frequent) and also means that sometimes things are missed and profiles are not importing everything we thought they were. Because it's easier to use than RE Import, it saves time on a lot of various tasks, from the use of virtual fields and dictionaries, to easily reloading errors. It's a great product. Pros It's a lot easier to use than RE's import and it's move efficient. I love the use of virtual fields. Dictionaries are so helpful too. I appreciate that I don't have to frequently manipulate spreadsheets. Plus, it loads much faster than the RE import and produces errors and makes it easier to identify and import the errors. The ability to match in constituents that are already in the database, select the specific data to correct or modify and edit the import information on the fly, make it an incredible tool. Too early to tell. Wish I could call the support number and have an expert walk thru the processing steps for this software. I understand you can purchase packages, and we have in fact, purchased additional time. Perhaps having a trainer who is focused on the elementary processes would be helpful. Pros This system seems like it will have the functionality for our organization once we can absorb and understand the basic mechanics (or steps) of running. Cons Integration is still pretty much up in the air. Our support person was very knowledgeable but went very fast and didn't spend enough focus going over the basics. We're still unclear about some of the data pull groups and how to process. One of the down sides is having to 'babysit' data pulls. So far we've found the system difficult to learn. The online guide is somewhat vague and not easy to follow when you are brand new to the software. We also use another product called Mayo automatic and are very happy with that as well. Pros Import O-Matic makes importing all kinds of data into the Raiser’s Edge so much easier than the native import functionality. Cons I don’t love the user interface. Wish it could be just a little friendlier. Although importing data is a complex and detailed process. It takes a very long time to maneuver thru all the pop ups and questions it has and then eventually times out because of the volume of data it is trying to process Pros Retrieves Constituents very nicely. Pros I have a large amount of data being collected and Omatic solved my problem of getting the data in our RE database correctly. Besides the data it also helps with the gift processing from our Lumniate account. Cons Sometimes setting up the forms can be a little tricky if you are not use to setting them up. They are one of the most helpful company's that I had the pleasure to work with. Not only do they tailor their software to your organizations needs, they are always transparent and respond so quickly. It is a lot of work to set up your import for your organization, but they dedicate hours of training and one-on-one conferences to help you. Everything is really taken step-by-step, which helps for the process to not be overwhelming. They work with you to make a schedule and plan. Everything is set up pretty fantastically. As someone who manages a decent amount of software products for our data, Omatic is one of the best companies I have had the opportunity to partner with. Pros The de-duplication feature offered in the software has been incredible in building up integrity for existing agency data. Being able to merge old records with new and standardize information has advanced our practices significantly, allowing us to better optimize our fundraising data to launch successful new appeals. Cons It would be wonderful to learn more (or if appropriate, add) a feature to merge non-constituent spousal records.
