Pros I love the vast amounts of data it can handle at once-- it has saved so much time in importing both gifts large and small, and constituent information. Cons Getting your feet wet with this software is somewhat daunting, as there are many intricacies in the software and imports cannot be reversed. It is also difficult in that some missing fields lead to constituents and gifts with information that need to be corrected. Review Source JS Joan S. ImportOmatic reduced our processing time to a few hours. Pros We have used ImportOmatic for several years and have been very pleased with the product. Our import processes are much more efficient now as a result. I really like the interactive side-by-side comparison which allows me to select which data to import record by record. Cons In our scenario, various pieces of software provide source data. The software couldn't accommodate all our needs for duplicates and complex phone number requirements which caused us to hold off on using. Not sure this would be a factor for most organizations. February 22, 2018 4.0 Quicker more efficient imports/data. Pros I like the efficiency and ease of use that IOM provides. It's very straightforward and easy to manage, most times. You have control without it taking hours and hours so sift through and match everything. Cons That fact that a lot of things you might need involve formulas you wouldn't know. For example, we needed to import credit card numbers into a batch. The numbers in the excel had a "cc-" in front of it. In order to import the numbers without having to manually remove the "cc-" our support person knew a code to do that, something we couldn't have known ourselves without much much more training. Pros The software is so powerful! It can handle almost any field in my database - it handles more fields than the database can! Omatic software improves the functionality of my database. A lot of fields you can import. Import time reasonably fast. I like the function that you can pull up the RE record right on the same screen. Reasonably priced. Cons A long learning curve. Explanations and instructions not too clear for a new user. Would like some hard copies of the training for training purposes. Pros This software can do so much for your data. Gone are the days where everything needs to be hand-keyed. Once a profile is created you can copy and adjust as necessary. The training offered is great and the customer service is exceptional. Cons For some of us it was difficult to use at first. Pros The ability to use csv data files for gift and constituent import into RE is a huge time-saver in the long run. Over the last decade, our data entry projects have grown exponentially and this tool is exactly what we needed. Cons The learning curve is difficult, but with patience and practice it gets better. I do not specialize in API nor coding, but with the support team I am able to comprehend IOM and use their tools. Cons Not as intuitive as I would like - I have to manipulate my data quite a bit. I believe we could have used a full fledged, in person type of training. I'm unsure if the company's contract doesn't cover that and perhaps that is why we were lost for the first few months of using it. Once we went through things with one of your reps, she was so patient with us and walked us through it until the bulb went off in our brains! I wish I could remember her name because she is awesome! March 1, 2018 5.0 Faster, easier, more efficient processes of getting new/updated data into the RE database. Any future plans for NXT functionality? Pros The fact table categories do not need to be specified in the import file. As opposed to RE's Import, a separate column for the table category is required. And I also really enjoy the side-by-side comparison of new and existing data in the database. Cons Don't think I've seen an import function for events in RE. The profiles take a bit of time to set-up in the beginning, but once you have them set-up importing data is simple and efficient. Cons My least favorite aspect of purchasing this software was the customer service. In the initial purchasing stage, I experienced terrible customer service with trying to get the contract implemented and scheduling introductory conference calls. Not sure how a company that supports so many customers is lacking in the customer service area.
