Comments: Other than that it's great!

Pros: I love the new @Me feature - I can easly look at items that apply to my position and job duties; especially if someone has specifically called me out to complete something.

Cons: I'm not a fan of the new Documents section - I want to have all the folders available on the dashboard of the documents section for easy uploading access.

Comments: Very user friendly and intuitive for basic non-insurance work. Very nice employees. Ultimately, we decided not to use Acculynx anymore because we needed the ability to export our files to Xactimate. Nice program for roofing companies who don't need that function.

Pros: VERY user friendly, nice design. Payment tracking and production tracking are great. Love the date stamped communication with internal team members.

Cons: Unable to export photos and documents to Xactimate for insurance jobs. Invoicing within the program is possible but not practical for printing and sending to clients.

Comments: Over all, very good software, keeps you organized and very easy to use.

Pros: Very accessible! Computer at the office, at home, from your phone! You can even request the desktop sit on your phone to utilize all functions from your phone.

Cons: Have to be careful with estimates.... You can play with the profitability percentage but ensure its high enough to account for for all taxes in your area because it does not account for it when calculating the net profit at the end so it looks like you made more than you did.

Comments: Decent software but could be much better with the right professional input. CRM side works really well, estimating is also good, project management is lacking overall. Connection issues and field app upgrades needed.

Pros: Templates for estimates, importing estimates into PO's & WO's, photo & document management. CRM is adequate for most sales force.

Cons: Scheduling calendar is very out dated, need Gantt charting without PO or WO dependencies (DHTMLX). A dash board that can filter the jobs from current to past with existing status and other filters such as names, dates, trades, sales person, project manager, etc... Field app that utilizes the calendar. Field app that can see all orders. Connection issues with good signal strength in the field.

Comments: Overall an effective program and now I couldn't do this without Acculynx!

Pros: Able to keep an accurate record of communications with customers as well as supplies we have orders. We like that we can upload documents to the customer portal and share them with all staff members even when the estimator is in the field. Acculynx also tracks the phone calls that are made to the customer from the mobile app and tracks all email communications with customers which allows to ensure our staff are providing the proper attentention to the customer and it also allows me to pull the customers portal when a customer calls and says "I never heard from your staff" I can pull it up and even share it with the customer. I can also track orders and invoicing as well as payments.

Cons: The calendar is a flaw, if you have a lot of service personal (They are coded by different colors for each employee) there is a lot of colors! I wish they had an option that would allow you to create separate calendars, example: one calendar for repair crew and a separate one for estimators and instead of colors place them side by side. It gets overwhelming with a ton of colors

Comments: At first I didn't think this program would do all it needs, but I am wrong on that front. It does help us out a ton.

Pros: The program easily keeps people in the loop as to job status, tasks, calendar, payments and more. Familiarizing with it takes some time but is worth the effort.

Cons: each email FROM acculynx to a user (from the same job file) creates a new email address for the sender. I have to go into the program to reply to emails, as there is no definition as to which job within the email address. I do not have the app on my phone.

Pros: Having all the jobs lumped into 1 job overview folder, being able to track the money that has been paid and spent in materials, as well as profit analysis on each job.

Cons: when we have big general contractors that we have multiple jobs under- it is hard to organize that because it lumps all the project managers and supervisors into the same jobs- when they should be separated.

Comments: It's a good program if you only price on a markup basis and if you have very little labor line items and are in the US.

Pros: Can access anywhere. Clean and visually easy to find the information you need on a screen (compared to many other programs) Now able to control how measurement numbers are used to generate material and labor quantities. (used to be a limited feature) Eagle views can be imported directly into estimates and orders. Estimates can transfer directly to orders. Some control of file workflow Some ability to group multiple jobs under one homeowner. Can create estimate off of mobile device. If you are a US company there is integration available with Major suppliers. Support is quick to get to problems.

Cons: The longer we stay with the program the less control we have over the way estimates, orders, and jobs are handled. New updates have made having a standard price list practically impossible within the program. By this I mean they are pushing for all quotes to be based on cost and Margin. This causes problems when there are agreed or dictated rates for work with insurance companies and contractors. Some manual over-ride of cost to state the preferred charge per unit is available but this causes job cost breakdown further down the line with the order process. Emails directly from the program are possible but are unreliable. Easily one third of the recipients will have the acculynx email end up in a spam filter and quotes are easily missed until an owner adds us to a safe list. This problem doesn't exist when emailing from our regular gmail. Any change in email subject line while replying will cause the email to be lost by acculynx. Despite being able to indicate who the primary owner and the sales owner are on a job, generating a sales report allocates all sales to the person listed as the sales owner. Should you have a production manager who would take on the job as primary owner the sales rep will no longer show this job as credited towards their sales. Effectively making either the sales or primary owner categories useless and sales reports inaccurate. Recent program changes have removed the ability to have labor and material applied to one item. They must now be show separate. Their assumption is that only one or two labor items will be used for a roofing job, siding job, etc. If you have labor rates for underlayments, accessories, flashings it becomes cumbersome to always ensure these items are added to every estimate and results in an overly wordy estimate.

Pros: It has been a solid program with few issues. Customer service guys are really responsive and they will find out answers to issues that they do not know.

Cons: Changes to program with little or no heads up with whats going to happen. It seems to cater to larger companies who need less individual functionality

Comments: I utilized this for a mid size restoration and remodeling company. It is a full service management program for construction, remodeling and roofing companies

Pros: Excellent project management, billing (easy tie into Quickbooks), invoicing modules

Cons: Estimating program is burdensome and difficult. It is not intuitive, would benefit with a tie into a standalone estimating program such as Xactimate.

Comments: I utilized acculynx for a year and it is superior for accounting and tie into quickbooks, invoicing and management of projects.

Pros: Easy tie into QuickBooks and superior billing, invoicing and receivables. Excellent project management and job costing.

Cons: did not like the cumbersome estimating program and it does not tie into Xactimate which is a far superior estimating system

Comments: I used Acculyx for about a year. It was great for lead and job tracking. The dashboard easily displays your projects and those upcoming.

Pros: It isn't complicated to use and very easy to upload client info and new leads.

Cons: Basic plan only allows 5 users and doesn't allow you to share job info with clients.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great for the one trade professional. Take the time and learn it.

Comments: Communication tools are top notch, layout is beautiful and intuitive. Great to be able to keep all info in order. Heavy insurance users will find that exporting documents and photos for use in xactimate is lacking, so additional file storage is necessary. Invoicing is possible, but the default font size is huge, and cannot be changed, leading to invoices which look unprofessional and take up two or three pages. Tracking payments and projecting profit is wonderful. Overall, worth the money, but improvements are needed to be the "all in one" solution we were hoping for.

Pros: Intuitive. Excellent tracking for financials and communication.

Cons: Billing function is wonderful as far as clarity and the ability to separate initial contract/supplements/permit fees etc., but we find it unusable for printed invoices due to gigantic font size which causes our invoices to be 3 pages long with an unprofessional look. As a heavy insurance user, we still need to use other software to export files and photos to xactimate.

Recommendations to other buyers: Terrific to keep customer and financial information and notes/reminders in one place. Plan on using another file sharing program such as dropbox if you use xactimate for insurance claims, and you may want to keep your current billing software for just a bit. We do still feel the software is a good investment.

Comments: I have had this product for over two years now and when I really started to experience the impact the software had on my company was during a huge hailstorm down here in Farmington Missouri. My old system I never would have been able to keep up with the amount of calls and the call volume and the amount of projects we have going at one time without a software like this.

Pros: My favorite part about this software is you can get as in-depth as you want to you can go absolutely it's deep into it as profit loss is ordering exact materials through ABC am scheduling appointments you can have it linked to your calendar you can go as deep as you want to go or you can just simply use it as a call monitoring system and you know just profit loss like we do It's as complex or as simple as you want it to be

Recommendations to other buyers: When I first heard the system I took advantage a lot of the one on one training so definitely call and schedule some appointments and have your whole crew your secretary your manager and you know yourself go and go through the training so everybody's using it it doesn't work if you don't use it

Comments: Our shop had been looking for a customer management program to keep track of our customer base. We couldn't find one that did what we wanted until a friend recommened Acculynx to use. We checked it out and loved it!!

Pros: Easy to use and awsome customer support!!!

Cons: the only thing i would like to see in Acculynx is an easier way to do measurements, if you do online measurements.

Comments: Acculynx is easy to use, and has an outstanding customer support team. They also have a great series of videos to help you figure out what you need to know without having to contact customer support. This product is user-friendly, and has all the functions you might need.

Pros: User-friendly Color coding Clear-cut reporting

Cons: A little on the pricey side - especially for a start-up like us

Recommendations to other buyers: Make use of the "Knowledge Base." You will find an answer to pretty much any question you may have.

Comments: We started using Acculynx about three months ago. So far it has been easy to use for calendar scheduling. It is also great to pull up a customer's details immediately. There is still much more available in the software that we have not even begun to scratch the surface on. We are currently awaiting the estimating module to be completed. We are using a third party for estimating and it will be nice once we have everything in one app.

Pros: Ease of use Information quick to recall easily

Cons: The product is still being developed. Some of the items that we thought would be built are still being worked on. The mobile app is not fully built. You can go to a browser to get the information, but it will be nice once everything is built into the app.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend this product. I would just be sure the functionality you are looking for is currently built and not in development.

Comments: We like Acculynx but it was made for production, not sales. Although it does show the amounts that each salesman has in "approved jobs" which does promote some healthy competition. Training and customer service is excellent.

Pros: Acculynx Pros: Can pin jobs on a map and lay purchased hail "swaths" as overlays to see affected past clients Has an app to use on phone & tablet Is embedded with national supplier materials lists for easy ordering Everyone has easy access to job information and updates

Cons: Acculynx Cons: App has no calendar feature No front end follow up programs to utilize in maximizing sales No way to customize notification preferences (IE: which emails to receive or not to receive that is the question)

Recommendations to other buyers: This is expensive and you will have to have a front end follow up process to turn your leads into approved jobs. However as far as the options go this is one of the best and designed specifically for the roofing industry which is important.

Pros: Vendor integration, works great with roofing, easy to contact support.

Cons: Cannot customize any fields, have been unexplainable math errors in the past, the phone app is poor.

Recommendations to other buyers: AccuLynx has its faults, but is a young company and continues to improve. Contracting software is often expensive and focused on large projects. I highly recommend AccuLynx for small business contractors, especially roofers. I would really like to see more user customization though. A contacts list would be great too.

Pros: The software is designed specifically for what we do.

Cons: It takes a while for improvements to be made. They are working on a lot of great things, and I think they have to prioritize what they spend their time on, which is only normal.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you check into every detail before selecting a software to use. Training a lot of people how to use it and getting them to use it correctly can be a challenging task and you don't want to have to switch software companies and retrain people on it. Take your time to select the correct software the first time. It took us 6 months to pick a software, after asking tons of questions and doing demos with other companies. We are glad that we picked Acculynx, I would highly recommend it to any roofing contractor.

Pros: The thing I like best is that I have a full scope of the business at any given time that I can access from anywhere. I never have to call or question anything, all I have to do is just pull out my phone and its right there. As an owner or manager there is no excuses anymore to not have a handle on the entirity of the business when using software such as Acculynx. The vendor designed this products foundation for the industry that we specialize in, thier customer support is fantastic and they have some of the best "Techys" in the world working for them.

Cons: The thing I like least about acculynx is if your internet connection is weak such as reps using a hotels wifi sometimes it can cause glitches in the system that are annoying. Least thing I like about the vendor is that they have a cool slide in their office and we don't. I guess thats more of a jealous thing though.......

Recommendations to other buyers: If you currently are using magnet boards, your sales reps all have everything in paper files, and you dont really see whats going on in the company until its submitted as a contract, this software will give you the missing link to grow your business and really dial it in.

Pros: Its hard to narrow it down to one thing but some of the things I like best are: ease of tracking everything, user friendly, easy to navigate, tech support is friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable.

Cons: The app sends notifications directly without the job number or name of the homeowner so I don't know who its referring to. I have to wait for the emailed notification to see that info. So I get 2 notifications for each comment, gets to be a bit much. Other than the app issue, no issues with the product itself.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compare all the features side by side and look at the other software's customer service.

Pros: Best CRM program for contractors by far, but it's much more than that! It's all at your fingers. Access from anywhere in the county where you can have a computer connected to the web. Love the integration with QuickBooks, which eliminated the multiple entries. Managing multiple locations all fluidly from Acculynx. All your reports and numbers are right there. Honestly, we operate everything through Acculynx and QB, and it's so smooth. Very easy to use. Department capabilities so office staff and sales reps view what you determine necessary. Our new hire got on for 5 min and messaged me to say, "Wow this program seems really user-friendly" if that says anything!

Cons: There is nothing I that least like! I think the program is awesome and a giant leap in the industry. We started with Acculynx back when it was still its first version. I can tell you that they are always trying to improve and make advancements anywhere they can. So be understanding if something in the system changes. I promise it's for the better! We all get used to using something one way and people seem to resist change. These improvements come from our feedback like this, and they are hearing it and implementing. Previously, the reps would push back if there was a software update, but then the "awwww" moment comes later in the day and they love the improvements. So definitely appreciate it!

Recommendations to other buyers: Honestly, you can shop around if it makes you feel better, but I know you will be confident in this program once you use it. Implement it and use its full potential. You will be very happy that you did. Your entire customer database, how the sales were generated, message board so all information is saved regarding customer or file, estimating templates, eagleview integration into estimate, contract pricing and balance worksheet, production calender and scheduling, AR reports, sales reports all in one place. You can break it down by status of job, enter all your documents and photos on the job. I could go on. Another great feature is the phone app that is so quick and efficient. It's designed by someone who understands what you need as a business owner or manager and put into action by intelligent tech force.

Pros: I like the ease of use, access over any platform, month to month billing with no contract, and I could go on.

Cons: I can't think of anything they could improve on right now.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't bother looking for a better/cheaper product. I test drove them all (actually still do), and nothing has yet to touch Acculynx in capabilities.

Comments: For roofing and siding specific software this is probably the oldest one out there. Especially when you look only at the web based platforms. There are many newer companies that are looking to take them on now though.

We made the switch to Acculynx 2 years ago. From the very beginning it has greatly increased the quality of information being retained from job start to finish and the interoffice comunication. There are a lot of certain things about it that we have small annoyances with but realistically they can't make a functional software that is both easy to use and perfect for everyone.

There are many times that this has saved our behinds by being able to access a back up of the original file documents and photos. No more going to find the paper file to get an answer. Or calling the estimator or crew and ask them to remember their visit from last month.

All photos and doucments and comments and emails can be run through the program and access from virtually any device at any time.
The message board has come in hand with some small claims as each comment is permanent and has a date stamp we can prove activity, attendance, and contact attempts should someone claim lack of due dillegance on our part.

That said. We have found their email service to be unreliable, It often ends up in spam filters and if the email address is wrong we won't receive a bounce back notice. And it doesn't comply with the new Anti spam laws (for canada). Instead we use our regular email service.

As an update on the previous comment. They have changed their 1800 number so it works for Canada now.

It can handle Billing and Invoicing, though it is more functional in conjunction with Quickbooks. (will integrate with quickbooks.)
It does do job scheduling, lead management, permit management, purchase orders, supplier management, task management, client communication,

One tip though. the initial transition can be rough to start. Whatever you think you will need for training and initial setup. Double it. We got 75% ready and then started using the program and most of our frustrations have been our own fault. Take the time to get it completely set up and run everyone through exactly how you want it used.

They are constantly up dating the program and some major changes are coming in the next year that will put them out front in the roofing software game again.

Pros: The contact management is helpful. You can track your current and past customers in several ways.

Cons: The calendar doesn't always work, which costs us time and money .

Recommendations to other buyers: Be patient with the software. They are always trying to improve it.

Comments: Acculynx is a great way to be organized, efficient, and know your costs on everything. It syncs easily with Quickbooks. There are good analytical tools, estimates look very professional and always impress the customer.

Once you get familiar with the layout, you can spend more time waiting for it to load then actually clicking and typing. On Thursdays they do their system update, so sometimes a feature will be suddenly removed, added, or changed without notice. Usually its minor, but sometimes they change things that worked perfectly fine, and other times, the feature you do want to see changed, never does.

As with any system, it requires constant data entry. Keep your prices up-to date, have someone managing the customer files and keep them up-to-date.

Its a very useful system if your looking to make the change from having everything piled up on your dashboard. It doesn't cost much to get started, and you get several training sessions included.

Oh ya, if you're in Canada, the 1-800 number doesn't work there, so you'll be calling long distance for support (limited to daytime hours only).
