It has a built-in pop-up builder as well which cost extra than other page builders I looked at Pros As an elderly person with limited technical skills, I found this software really simple to use. It worked for my basic website and blog. The support was helpful in educating me through the learning curve. I love the beautiful templates that allowed me to just plug and play my own personal information! Cons I did need to get some help from my colleagues to integrate and customize some of the widgets because it was too challenging. November 9, 2021 5.0 I find it easy to use, the experience feels quite quick, smooth and satisfying. Installation is easy and there is a good selection of elements. The main downside would be that the code of the site will be fairly cumbersome with all the features and layers of code. Pros The support response was brilliant. When I asked for help with settings on an element the support I received was a custom made video, using my website and showing me exactly how to achieve what I wanted. It also included some other helpful info and not too much unnecessary information. Cons Some features are not all that intuitive for example a 'toggle' element requires you to click on the name of the toggle to edit the content and this is not obvious for my client. It's my go-to plugin if I'm building a site from scratch. I have not bought the premium version but if I used the plugin on a daily basis might be tempted. There are some very active user communities on Facebook, and most answers to problems can be found there. I haven't found the plugin to be especially buggy, but occasionally I've had to log out of Wordpress and login again to clear an error. That's fairly rare to be fair. Pros The free version of Elementor is pretty powerful - for most tasks you;re going to find what you need. Drag and drop, page sizing and editing are very easy, and so much more powerful than Wordpress' native Gutenberg editor Cons Well not everything is free, and when you want to start tuning up your site, some of the controls are far from intuitive. If you use this every day you will quickly get your head around some of the more complex elements, BUT, if you're a less regualr user, some of the less intuitive stuff may become annoying. December 26, 2022 4.0 This is the plugin I use to design all my websites on WordPress. It makes my life quite easy, simple to use. With Elementor, I can design websites in record time. It's the best tool to quickly design an elegant website on WordPress Pros This is the builder I use on WordPress. I don't know if you can use it on other platforms, or independently, but it would be cool. It's great, easy to use, pretty light, and it's compatible with many themes. You don't need to know anything about website coding (although it's recommended), with its drag-and-drop technique, you can build your entire website, including the menu and header, and footer. With the pro version, you get what you pay for. But it's also possible to test it in the free version lol. Pros Elementor is the easiest to use visual builder I've come across - far better than complicated theme frameworks with tons of bloated add-ons. It doesn't seem to have a significant impact to page load times and is the most intuitive tool for creating custom themes and templates on the market. For a freelance web designer or a small design firm, elementor is pure gold and well worth the expense. Cons I do dislike their lack of built in integration for some third party plugins, namely Gravity Forms. This makes sense however as Elementor is spending considering time and resources building their own integrated form builder (which is no where near as powerful as GF at the moment). The overall UI & UX is simple & easy to understand. The best thing is that we can edit & can upload our own template. Cons When there comes an update to Elementor, I am always worried to update it. If we update the Elementor to the latest version, I have noticed that the layout of the website that we design gets smashed. The images or graphics position changed dramatically & unfortunately, we have to adjust it accordingly again with the updated Elementor version. Cons It might not be the best option for beginners as it offers so many customization options. However, I think that even beginners can use it after watching a few training videos. The main page that I host is my freelancer portfolio, and was crucial for me to find a template that allowed me to easily add content in a more structured way, so I had consistency on the text and the media that I needed to embed in my pages. Not using a manager can make things a little bit messy and more prone to visual inconsistencies that I was looking to avoid. I cannot speak much about the paid product of Elementor, since the free version was more than enough to keep me happy and locked into the system. I'm sure you'll get a more robust set of features, but for my basic portfolio/personal site it was a perfect match. Now bare in mind that I use it with WordPress, which I had quite a few of hickups, and as I type this review is currently not letting my page display, so I'm expecting to do a good session with the technical support of my host. This issue has nothing to do with Elementor, but since it's hosted inside my WordPress I though I should mention. In short, I found it very useful for my needs, and by no means I'm a web-developer, I just know how to get by, so your mile may vary. I think this is important to mention, in case you are in a case like me and want to design your own page without being knee dip into the development stage. I highly recommend. August 26, 2021 4.0 At first, I thought it was this goldmine to be protected and nurtured - something that would make business smoother and less frustrating. But that was just a pipe dream, in all honesty. Elementor (and Wordpress) have their perks for sure, it's just not suitable for the long-term, IMHO, especially on more content heavy sites. Clunkiness is an issue and it seems that speed is an afterthought, which is a shame. Pros It's powerful, full of options and the drag-and-drop makes it mostly easy to use. The templates are thorough, if that's what you're looking for. We don't use them, however; they make your site look like the rest and well.. that kind of defeats the purpose of having your "own space on the internet". With that said, the pre-designed blocks are pleasing to the eye and make it easy to create a site pretty quickly, which is perfectly suited for most. Cons Biggest con... Wordpress but that's neither here, nor there. I was a fan for over 12 years, but no longer - it's just cumbersome, heavy, buggy and requires way too much attention. Elementor has a good thing going, though. You just gotta be willing to put in the effort and time to learn the "tricks" they offer; it'll be a straight up time suck for the beginner.
