Pros Visual Composer offers an extensive library of pre-desined elements that are super helpful for building pages. There are buttons, sliders, forms, and more that can be easily customized and tailored to suit any design preference. Cons Some of the challenges that I faced with Visual Composer and which made me switch to a more flexible tool are: - ease-of-use: while visual composer may be simple to use in the long run but, It was very challenging for me to adapt to it. I just got started with web design and didn't much about it and was kind of intimidated by the UI. it had a high impact on me and I considered switching to something more easy and friendly as I didn't want to waste a lot of time trying to learn the tool. -I also noticed that the tool will add additional scripts to the website. - it's limited in customization and there are certain designs that I couldn't accomplish because of these limitations which I just realized today. - I equally noticed that visual composer highly relies on shortcodes to properly generate content -although this could be a preference however, it could be different to switch to different page builders or even themes in the future. which can highly impact the site's speed performance Review source Non-incentivized review: any software user can leave a review for any product listed on our site. It's design-oriented and can provide a fantastic user experience. The plugin will be perfect if developers improve on features with less performance. Pros Some of the features in Visual Composer that perform include:- Drag-and-Drop Interface which enables me to build and design pages with less hassles easily.- Frontend Editing that supports real-time editing with live previews- Responsive Design which is essential for both SEO and user-experience- CMS Compatibility as it works with almost all well-coded WordPress themes and plugins. Cons For a better user experience, I would recommend the developers to:- Make this plugin easy to use because, at a glance, I almost freaked out. The plugin will actually make you feel that you need to know coding in order to successfully work with it. I don't know if I'm getting this whole thing wrong but that's the way I feel about it. Its learning curve is too steep.- Expand the design controls as customization seems to be limited to only certain functionalities. I don't really feel my artwork each time I work with the Visual Composer plugin because there is no way for me to actually inject my own quality touch that would really identify me. Hopefully you get what I'm trying to point out here.- Review conflict with other plugins during updates as I've personally experienced it with PowerPack and Essential add-ons for Elementor.- Well optimize the plugin so that I would generate less amount of code for the drag-and-dropbuilder. This will help the plugin to be highly functional, make the design more flexible which will of course result in less bloated HTML markup and voluminous files which can potentially affect the page's SEO perfromance. Both the front and back end editors are simple and easy to use with lots of functions and a bazillion add-ons to extend that functionality further. It's supported by tons of themes and is easy enough to modify and customize where required (through custom templates and objects). If I had one complaint, it would be how it handles various screen sizes. It would be great to see it support mobile styling in a bit more of an innovative way like some of its competitors. Other than that, it's a great piece of software that will easily allow you to update your design for years to come. Pros Easy to learn, nice looking interface, lots of options to extend the functionality, supported by hundreds of themes. Cons Sometimes buggy to load in the browser for editing, can be a bit more temperamental than other editors, doesn't make adding CSS by screen size easy. I prefer to use the backend editor (faster) but some customers of mine prefer to use the frontend. With many plugins available you can extend its functions and it's also simple to write plugins and shortcodes on your own. Pros Unlike most website builders, Visual composer provides back-end & front-end editor options for editing which makes editing things a bit simpler. When the page starts to get heavy i.e. when you have tons of elements and images on the page; you can also use the backend editor for quickly making edits instead of waiting for front end page to load. For the pages that were created using Visual Composer, I've hardly seen any pages getting broken after a while of creating (you know the things happen when you are using muliple landin page builders on a site) e.g. css not showing correctly or distored pages, etc. Apart from this, it has a good collection of templates, which makes it easy to create pages fast. Cons Front-end editor starts taking time to load as the page size & lenght of the created page increases. You can't do inline editing like you can do in other landing page builders. And, front end editor UI doesn't seem to be that intuitive compared to other landing page builder options like Elementor. And on top of that they have lots of templates as well which I really love. And the thing I like the most about Visual Composer is that the plugin support WooCommerce which is very important for me cause most of my sites are using WooCommerce.
