Pros: - Stable software that is polished and minimalist.

- Vendor-supported software; If you have problems, Cisco offers enterprise-level technical support channels for enterprise application managers.

- Apple/Windows support, with very similar feature and interface parity. Sometimes this is not the case for some cross-platform applications.

- Provide integration for multi-factor authentication (Duo, RSA, etc.)

- Flexible design to support multiple VPN profiles, should you need to manage multiple access profiles.

- Client software updates are automatically deployed from VPN servers to client end-point installs, making it a very elegant solution for non-technical and technical users alike.

Cons: - Successful and reliable VPN access is built upon a robust network and a VPN server configuration. Updates pushed to AnyConnect software provided by the company I work for have caused issues for users periodically. This is not necessarily the fault of Cisco AnyConnect, but rather, an issue with communication and coordination of changes between VPN support personnel and end-users.

If VPN personnel make changes to the VPN server infrastructure that impacts end-users, its important to consider when and how to coordinate those changes so as to minimize the impact and frustration to end-users.

Overall: Enterprise-class product for VPN access to maintain productivity and security from remote or insecure network locations.

Pros: I've used the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client over the last 10 years while also managing AnyConnect client-to-site configurations on ASAs. Both as a user and administrator, the product is straight-forward: through a few easy and well-documented steps, the VPN configuration is created leaving the client to simply login via the GUI which will provide them with the appropriate release and version of AnyConnect for their OS. Whether they're on a Mac, PC, or their mobile device, the process and use of AnyConnect to access our corporate network is easy and transparent for the non-technical user which means less time spent teaching and troubleshooting.

Cons: Around a year ago, I worked with users and also personally experienced issues following a Windows update. Cisco TAC was able to work with us on changes to the .xml profile and get us up and running. 99% of the time, the product works fine. On the rare occasion that there are issues, more meaningful error messages would aid in determining root cause.

Overall: Cisco AnyConnect has provided our users with an easy solution for securely connecting to the corporate LAN. I've found that Cisco's TAC group has also done a good job of supporting the product on the rare occasion when an issue does pop up. Overall, this is the perfect solution for our company: you're hardly aware that the product is even running and the support of the application by Cisco has given us nothing but confidence with its use within an enterprise environment.

Pros: I'm not a firewall expert, but even I can get AnyConnect setup on a Cisco ASA 5XXX series in about an hour. It's a pretty straightforward process with lots of guides available. Installing it on the client is even easier, and the best part is that it's only two or three mouse clicks to get connected, so it's very easy to teach to an end user. The connection is rock solid, I've never had issues with connectivity.

Cons: Licensing anything with Cisco is confusing, and this is no exception. Even though I've done it several times, it still takes me more time than I'd care to admit to figure out the correct SKU for the software license I need. It's also annoying that many ASA's need to have a 512MB RAM stick installed before AnyConnect can be used. Configuring AnyConnect to use Radius is also pretty confusing for me, although this more a function of the ASA than AnyConnect.

Pros: -I like Cisco AnyConnect's small footprint. it only uses the screen real estate that is needed.

-It provides multiple VPNs for me to connect to. If the east coast VPN is down, I can try the west cost VPN.

- it shows me the my ip address which is a nice feature

- it has a drop down of local wireless and wired networks that I can use to connect to the VPN, along with the signal strenght of each wireless network which is very handy.

- It just works, I never really have any problems getting onto my VPN which is the most important featur in my book

Cons: - it kicks me off after 24 hours, I'm not sure if this is cisco limitation, or a company restriction, but it would be nice if i could stay connected forever.

-rarely despite entering all the correct credentials i still can't access the VPN, but I think this is a company issue instead of a cisco issue

Pros: On the user side, the user-experience is extremely simple: once the client is installed, just enter the VPN server's URL, a username, and a password. Details are saved so that subsequent connections are even simpler, only having to type the password.

This is in contrast with configuration steps for other VPN software that I had to deal with in the past: getting the right port, picking the security protocol, entering a "shared secret", etc. Several pages of instruction are replaced by just a few words.

Connection is fast, and I haven't noticed any effect on bandwidth.

Cons: The AnyConnect client must be installed on all devices that will connect, which could be an issue if some platforms are not supported. However, all mainstream devices have an easy-to-use client.

This ease of use comes at the price of a software license (paid by the service administrators, not the users). When Open Source solutions such as OpenVPN are available, this could be a major drawback.

Pros: The best thing I like with Cisco AnyConnect is that it's really an easy software to use

It has a very minimal interface; so comfortable for your eyes. Multiple server option are available for your selection. You can even switch between the servers. In general, provides high speed secure connection. You can see statistics and connection history; which is a very good feature if you want to see what happened before.

Cons: No advanced options are available. Would be better if user based connection options are allowed. Can get disconnected easily if your internet speed is not so high.

Overall: In overall, I'm happy with Cisco AnyConnect. It is really easy to use. You do not need any training to use the software. Spends not much RAM; so it does not makes the computer slows down. Very robust as long as you have a moderate speed internet.

Pros: I have been using this AnyConnect VPN for about 8 years and I have always been satisfied with the product. I mostly do VPN to my school domain or my server. AnyConnect is a reliable product to do my job. The speed is amazing, and the layer level of protection is about right. Recently, they just added one more level of protection with mobile phone DUO. I think is a right move which adds on protection without much hassle.

Cons: Cisco AnyConnect doesn't have any problem! Even if I'm away for the computer a long time, VPN stills connects.

They must better communication between the personnel that makes the changes in the VPN server and the final user of the application. Sometimes I found the mismatch between them.

Overall: Overall, it's very easy to use, reliable and well-protected.

Pros: What I like about this product is that it is a very "hands-free" product. What I mean by this, is that AnyConnect once installed and set up on one's PC basically does not require much tweaking or adjusting or essentially much manipulation when it is being used. It stores networks in its memory along with security details and connects automatically and quickly to those networks and only prompts the use when there are no recognized network connections available.

Cons: What I like least is the way that it disables the default network connection software. Sometimes when there is a network issue or a network connection issue, the computers standard network software is the best tool to use to troubleshoot network errors. With AnyConnect, it essentially hi-jacks any capabilities the computer's native network software has which in turn does not allow for troubleshooting unless Anyconnect is explicitly disabled. I would like to see this product work a bit more smoothly with a computer's native software and network settings, or at least for more popular operating systems such as those by Apple and Microsoft.

Pros: AnyConnect is faster and less frustrating than other VPN or remote clients that I've used. Normally, latency, long delays, and repeated attempts to remotely complete a task are the norm, but I've had very little of that with AnyConnect. And, when I do encounter it, it's often the fault of my (often spotty) remote Internet connection. It's not reasonable to blame AnyConnect for bad, slow, or unreliable Internet. When my connection is decent, it doesn't let me down.

Cons: I'm always concerned about information security when I'm using these kinds of clients. They're often done from insecure Wifi when traveling. I'd love to learn more about what Cisco has put in place to ensure that none of the information or work completed gets compromised.

Pros: Compared to other Mac VPN packages I've used, AnyConnect is so easy. As a user, you can connect anywhere to get your work done. AnyConnect has never crashed, and is so reliable even if the internet connection is not. I rely on AnyConnect to get my work done and I truly appreciate not needing to drive into the office. I can leave work on time, and finish up in the evening after kids are in bed.

Cons: On VERY unreliable internet connections, AnyConnect will give the impression you are still connected when the connection has indeed gone done. It will sometimes be able to auto -reconnect your VPN, but not always. In those cases, you need to close and restart once you stabilize your wifi. (Move closer, etc.)

Overall: just works. always, anytime, every time.

Pros: This is a easy to use VPN solution. It can be setup in a matter of minutes for the most basic of connections and get users VPNing into your infrastructure. But it can accomodate the most demanding users too. The client is very robust traversing a multitude of different NAT and Firewall combinations to make a stable connection back to your corporate office. They offer support for all of the major operating systems including Linux, Mac, Windows, Android and iOS. It has become one of the most common VPN clients in use today.

Cons: Can be a little pricey to maintain software maintenance on. Requires an ASA device to be an endpoint for the VPN and to my knowledge there is no virtual ASA available.

Overall: Secure VPN Solution for your workforce

Pros: I feel safe when using Cisco VPN to connect a customer's network and do my job. With AnyConnect, I can use it to connect to different setups the customer's may adopt. Not everybody has the same setup and I need to use to different ones everyday. If I would have to use a different client for each setup, it would be a mess. AnyConnect helps a lot in achieving this goal.

Cons: Sometimes it can mess with my network settings mostly by conflicting with other VPN clients that I have installed (from other manufacturers). But it is easy to solve by installing these conflicting clients in Virtual Machines and working from inside it.

Overall: It is part of my everyday tasks. One client that can connect to many Cisco VPN solutions, it is great!

Pros: Easy as use as entering user and password. No complicated messages: user can rapidly know the status of the connection. If the connection is interrupted a pop-up is displayed and also starts to automatically reconnect (pop-up if succeeded).

Cons: When the admins changed the version, all the users got an automatic update pop up without enough information of the change. Non-educated users panicked since the update window could not be closed. The application should have a predefined (easy to understand) message for these cases for the users.

Overall: Constant awareness of my VPN connection. Easy access without additional steps to connect/reconnect. Automatic updates when the admins decide to update.

Pros: We can configure it to be managed by our HaaS provider. They manage updates and configs as we request and the vpn users just login and let their updates roll out on login. This is quite nice to serve out over the Cisco ASA. Cross-OS compatible and works very well with Windows 10 for every release so far.

Cons: Could be more intuitive in the end-user's UI. Slightly limited when it comes to configurations, it was easier to set up cert-based auth on the old Cisco VPN that is no longer supported.

Overall: We roll out AnyConnect, which has managed our simple auth and MFA options nicely. There is a limited amount of configurations in the UI. We can roll it out for general download fairly easily, but it's quite difficult to find any downloads not off the ASA itself. This is a really nice tool that configures pretty easily and deploys quite nicely off the Cisco ASA.

Pros: Easy to deploy, secure, high availability based on your ASA setup. It has great potential with certificate based authentication but that's tricky to set up. We use password and 2FA with secure auth OTP.

Cons: I suppose an option to use Windows authentication automatically then ask for 2FA code would be nice but not as secure. The VPN before sign on feature could be more customizable such as a button to bring it up on the login window. A customized instruction help guide for our users accessible through the client would also be great.

Overall: Very positive, it's secure and you can lock down the TLS and Cipers then control access from the FW

Pros: Gives me the ability to connect to our business's network remotely through a VPN. Once I am in, I stay connected until I either disconnect or shutdown my computer, which is nice that I don't have to connect constantly. Additionally, I feel like it keeps my computer pretty secure.

Cons: Sometimes, when it searches for available wireless networks, it will return with nothing, which I know is not the case as I am in an area with several local networks to connect to. I think some of it may be from my Surface Pro, (which, let's be honest, has plenty of it's own issues,) but sometimes I will have to restart my device a couple of times before AnyConnect will find the available wifi in my area, even if it is one that it has connected to before.

Overall: For the most part, other than the initial connectivity issues I have run into, AnyConnect works pretty solidly. There is nothing flashy about it, which I consider a good thing when it comes to the process of connecting to wifi, and I get a good sense of security from it.

Pros: Cisco Anyconnect affords all-around access to employees to their company's network.

It allows employees to connect from other networks even while traveling and using your mobile hotspot.

It gives any user secure access to the enterprise network from any device, at any time and any location.

Cons: I have faced connection issue many times, which requires a pc restart. sometime it could be disturbing while you are in the middle of an important task.

Overall: Cisco AnyConnect is a secure option for the enterprise and I would recommend it as it has made the work easy, and one can log in from anywhere and complete their office tasks at any time.

Pros: I like that it's a simple interface. There's not much going on. I select one of three available connections, enter my password, and it connects. It's not complicated.

Cons: I wish that it was up a little bit in terms of connection stability. If my internet connection falters, I wish that there was a back-up type function where the VPN connection would linger, similar to a laptop battery. If I get a little wind at my house, even if the internet doesn't actually go down, my VPN is constantly dropping. It should be able to run on limited internet connectivity. It's frustrating that it doesn't. It's very finicky.

Pros: This software was easy to use for my company to log into the company domain from their computers. We could either have a physical keyfob or an app on our mobile phones that would give us a login number (number would change every minute for security reasons). We liked having the option of using either method and its security measures.

Cons: We had a few instances where the physical keyfob batteries died on users who were away from the office and had complications accessing the domain when needed. Keyfobs were fairly new as well. Small hiccup, but inconvenient for those users.

Pros: My entire engineering team uses anyconnect daily to connect to our customer's network and design large scale machines in Autodesk Inventor. I have used other VPN connections that are not fast enough to support CAD software, but this one has given us zero issues in years of use.

Cons: Our system uses an RSA token, which keeps it very secure. However, if a user loses the token, they are not able to log into the VPN and work. This may not be an issue for all configurations of this product.

Overall: Fast VPN connection from across the country. Secure connections using an RSA token.

Pros: As I regularly work away from the office, I rely heavily on AnyConnect to access company networks. It is reliable enough that I barely notice it's there, which is exactly how it should be.

Cons: This might be attributable to the data center or internet connection used, but I have occasionally found that certain applications don't work very optimally when AnyConnect is in use. This would be the same with any VPN solution, though.

Overall: I use it daily to be productive wherever I am, and I'm very glad of that flexibility. Basically, I can get more done in the time available to me with AnyConnect.

Pros: While the user doesn't "see" much of this program it is a must for protecting a network. It is simple to use and seems to be very stable when in use.

Cons: The only issue I've found with this program is that, if your computer goes to sleep, the system disconnects. While this may be a good way of doing things it can make it challenging if you tend to "sleep" your computer often for the protection of it.

Overall: Our University has utilized Cisco AnyConnect for a number of years. When off campus this program is really effective for maintaining security and is really easy to use.

Cons: There are times that when I lose a connection, I am not able to completely disconnect and the only way to resolve the issue is to shut down every running application and completely reboot my machine. This is tough because I am losing productivity time.

Overall: Overall, I've used this for several years and have had great success with it. I'd say that it is solid at least 90-95% of the time. When I have issues, I lose valuable time, but they issues are rare enough that I wouldn't look at using anything else.

Pros: This was an easy system to deploy, run and set up on the user's end. We had virtually no issues with users installing and setting up their VPN Access. We even integrated it with an RSA provider and had no issues. We are much less concerned about data security now that our employees can all access the needed network resources quickly and easily.

Cons: The user interface is minimal, but it does have some annoying notifications when you first connect. Once users are familiar with them, however, no issues arise. None of our users have complained about its functionality.

Pros: Setup was a simple process to get users connected to the corporate network while in the field. You could download the software and point it to the VPN server or download it from the external management website and it would have all the server information setup already. This allowed us to give users a link to the webpage where they could follow the instructions.

Cons: If on a cell connection and signal was temporarily lost, occasionally it would not auto-reconnect. This can cause some headache with end users trying to access corporate information.

Pros: What I like most about this software is that it allows me to connect to the various institutions that I work for in order to access particular files and softwares that would be inaccessible for me otherwise. This software is an elegant solution to a simple (but important!) problem.

Cons: What I like least about this software is that it will occasionally time out, or log me out. When this happens, if I am working on a file or using a software that is on a different server, then I am often unable to continue working or even save the file.

Pros: This is a great tool for connecting to a network that uses a Cisco ASA. Easy to set up and a onetime download can be used for multiple connections (although not at one time)

Cons: Sometimes the software running in the background will create a lot of event logs and sometimes hog resources. Does not have a default disconnection on it, and I have been know to forget to close it, and leave my VPN connect open for days. .... Just checking on it now, and I am still connected to a VPN from last week.....

Pros: Easy to install and connect from either PC or Mac. Only disconnects when the Internet connection goes down, but then will auto-reconnect when it comes back up.

Cons: Not easy to install or use for personal use. My company uses this on their computers and had a hard time getting it to work on additional computers that I needed.

Overall: My company requires VPN access for remote computers to use many of their systems. It's not fun to have to log into the VPN every time for so many things, but this software makes it as easy as it can be.

Pros: AnyConnect is super easy to install, log in to the portal and down load the client. From there it is really quick and easy to establish your vpn connection. Point it to your VPN in the simple Connt box, put in your creds and enter. VPN made simple.

Also works well with DUO dual authentication.

Cons: Does not usually automatically update. Most of the time you have to manually update to the newest version.

Overall: We use AnyConnect for all our VPN needs. Our field techs like that it just works.

Very safe to use and can be used anywhere with any internet connection. Allows me to work remotely with the same ease that i have in my office. Auto-disconnect when there is no activity for a while.

Cons: Pricing, it is fairly expensive but you get what you pay for, which is knowing your users are safe when they connect to your servers from outside the office.

Overall: I didnt encounter any problems and its a very reliable software. Very easy to use and can be used anywhere.

Pros: Easy to set up from a user perspective. Gets the user up and running quickly and easily. There are a variety of options available.

Cons: For a less tech savvy end user, the options are sometimes overwhelming in how they are presented. They sometimes update the app without any notification and change the wording of screens that commonly pop up, causing confusion.

Overall: We used this as our main vpn application for desktop and mobile. It had it's share of issues, but was overall very solid and easy to administer.

I Use this EVERY day, and it's so easy - I forget it's there.

Pros: I love how effortless this software is. I use it to remote into my office each day, when I boot my up my machine a friendly little window opens up letting me know I'm connected to my office and files.

Cons: I'm not a fan of how it interacts with my 3rd party anti virus files, as programs like Avira will often throw up accessory warnings that my hosts file has been modified, and blocked.

Overall: Over, great - I use it every day to remote into work - and it's super effective for everyday business needs.

Pros: Cisco anyconnect is easy to setup and use. Additionally the ability to select multiple networks makes it easy when you have multiple systems to log into.

Cons: Anyconnect can be unreliable at times. I've had several instances where I've needed to reboot in order to reconnect with a network. This could be caused by many sources, but I've noticed it happening more with anyconnect than other VPN softwares.

Overall: Ability to work remotely and access all company data and systems.

Pros: It's a simple VPN connection interface.

It is installed based of a custom URL.

Doesn't seem to affect the Internet speed.

Cons: Sometimes it takes a while to connect.

The installation is not very intuitive, since you need to get a specific URL to download and install, instead of downloading from a generic page and configure.

Overall: Doesn't seem to slow down my internet speed. I use it daily and works correctly. I'm able to have meetings with people around the world without interruptions.

Excellent VPN solution, easy to install, configure and maintain.

Pros: This is great for when you're working remote and easy to login and use. Doing so allows us access to our company's server so we can work efficiently from home when we need to.

Cons: I've never had any specific issues. Service has cut out before, but I'm not sure if that was a Cisco related issue, or our company's own server.

Overall: We use Cisco AnyConnect to log on to our company's secure server, so that we have access to files and systems when working remotely from home.

Pros: I've had no issues with my VPN telephone which uses CISCO. I do love that my voicemail can redirect right into my email inbox, so I don't have to actually listen to the messages. I also often will respond to messages from the VPN phone, directly from my gmail account, which saves me lots of time!

Cons: I find it difficult to get through my voicemail through CISCO, as there are a number of key-combinations/codes.

Pros: We migrated to AnyConnect from another VPN solution and the difference is huge. Cisco's solution runs smoothly and you almost can't tell it is running. It runs in the background and you only need to login once, and do nothing beyond that.

Cons: There's nothing I dislike about AnyConnect.

Overall: We migrated from another VPN solution and its another whole world. It resolves our problem to create a unique network between two countries overseas.
