### "VPN Apps are Notoriously Frustration, but Cisco AnyConnect is Fairly Good"

February 8, 2019

4.0

Pros

AnyConnect is faster and less frustrating than other VPN or remote clients that I've used. Normally, latency, long delays, and repeated attempts to remotely complete a task are the norm, but I've had very little of that with AnyConnect. And, when I do encounter it, it's often the fault of my (often spotty) remote Internet connection. It's not reasonable to blame AnyConnect for bad, slow, or unreliable Internet. When my connection is decent, it doesn't let me down.

Cons

I'm always concerned about information security when I'm using these kinds of clients. They're often done from insecure Wifi when traveling. I'd love to learn more about what Cisco has put in place to ensure that none of the information or work completed gets compromised.

### "Very useful for external computer use at home for work!"

January 20, 2022

5.0

Really really pleased with this tool! A must have for everyone who needs to work remotely and not have to go into work to use the work computer as it allows you to get your work interface with the VPN. Definitely a must have! It is very easy to install and use. Highly highly recommend!

Pros

I use this tool to allow me to work remotely at home, which has been very convenient, especially during the COVID pandemic/surge. With this tool, it basically mimics your computer as a work computer so you are able to do all your work assignments from home. There is an added security for logging on so no one else can accidentally load this on your computer. I HIGHLY recommend this tool as we use this a lot at Stanford. It allows me to finish my clinic notes at home by logging on remotely.

Cons

Sometimes, the software has to be updated in order for to log on, however, there is always an automatic update search that lets me know when I need to update. There is also an option to defer the update and still log on if you are in rush. So honestly, I cannot complain about this software.

### " Secure VPN connection"

January 30, 2020

4.0

Cisco AnyConnect is the best VPN client out there. It is simple, safe and with a stable connection.

Pros

The connection to AnyConnect is simple, secure and stable. Unlike other VPNs, Cisco AnyConnect keeps the connection stable. In addition, it provides security for the company, through secure connection to the endpoints of the company's corporate network.

Cons

It is sometimes difficult to register the VPN client using the registration code received by email. This code only lasts a few seconds.

### "Simple, Stable and Powerful VPN Software"

April 15, 2021

4.0

The overall experience has been satisfactory for Cisco AnyConnect. There are not much issues apart from the internet speed drop. If your internet speed is good enough, the VPN software will work like a charm.

Pros

It is a very good VPN software. The connectivity speed is also good. You can securely connect to any of the VPN options available. It works very well when you have a closed organization network and want to connect to the company resources. AnyConnect provides various functionalities to connect to the internal network securely. The interface is also very simple and easy to use. It also does not take much resources of your system.

Cons

The most common issue about Anyconnect is the Network speed drop. The speed of your internet connection will drop significantly once you connect to the VPN. Apart from this there are not much issues. You need to have a good internet connection in order to use AnyConnect.

### "AnyConnect - Best VPN Client"

August 20, 2021

5.0

It has worked quite well for us, it is much more stable than using Meraki and the end user has fewer problems.

Pros

It is the simplest tool for the end user. And for administrators, it is the one that gives us the most confidence for a secure connection to the organization. Additional soon it will also be able to be used with Meraki, we liked this news a lot.

Cons

In the new versions it is no longer compatible with the ISR4000 and is only supported on ASA and Firepower. I think this is a disadvantage, since it forces you to purchase a separate device for remote connection.

Alternatives considered

[Cisco Meraki](https://www.capterra.com/p/176649/Meraki-Systems-Manager/)

Reason for choosing Cisco AnyConnect

It has been the most reliable and easy-to-use option for our users. The cost is not much and for the home office it has turned out to be an indispensable and reliable tool.

### "Stable, safe and reliable VPN"

September 14, 2018

5.0

It is part of my everyday tasks. One client that can connect to many Cisco VPN solutions, it is great!

Pros

I feel safe when using Cisco VPN to connect a customer's network and do my job. With AnyConnect, I can use it to connect to different setups the customer's may adopt. Not everybody has the same setup and I need to use to different ones everyday. If I would have to use a different client for each setup, it would be a mess. AnyConnect helps a lot in achieving this goal.

Cons

Sometimes it can mess with my network settings mostly by conflicting with other VPN clients that I have installed (from other manufacturers). But it is easy to solve by installing these conflicting clients in Virtual Machines and working from inside it.

### "Cisco AnyConnect - a secure and reliable VPN gateway"

March 14, 2022

5.0

Overall extremely positive experience, Cisco AnyConnect does what it is supposed to do, it is a secure VPN gateway utilizing MFA and auto-reconnect and it is a must-have piece of software for anyone seeking to easily secure the access to their applications or sharepoint locations. The program is extremely quick when it comes to authentication and well optimized when it comes to system resource utilization.

Pros

Cisco Anyconnect provides swift and secure network access regardless of users location. Within our organization we utilize it mainly for external connections. Cisco AnyConnect was a life-saver during the pandemic period where majority of our company had to swiftly adjust to a new remote work-model. We found Cisco AnyConnect with it's lightweight design and user-friendly interface to be a perfect tool for the job. Embedded multi-factor authentication functionality and auto-connect features really make the VPN shine.

Cons

I have been utilizing Cisco AnyConnect for over two years at this point, and I am yet to find any issues with the software.

### "Cisco AnyConnect"

Overall experience has been great. This helps to connect with any VPN provided by the client and you neee not have a separate tool for that.

Pros

The best part is that it also connects even if you are not logged in. While doing the initial setup, you can connect to VPN so that password sync is efficient

Cons

Sometimes it doesn't connect automatically, and gives a hard time when we have important calls. But overall, it works well

### "Protects our systems & your data!"

August 30, 2023

5.0

Pros

This became integral as we moved to work from home and I have been highly impressed by the speed at which it works and how it securely locks unauthorised users out of sensitive information/programs if they are not connected to the VPN.

Cons

Integrating this system was not the simplest process for everyone, as the authentication program/process did not work fully with all phones and if the authentication device is lost or broken, it can be difficult to transfer.

### "VPN Necessity"

July 16, 2020

4.0

When working from home, we have to use Cisco AnyConnect to connect to our company's VPN network. I'm not a fan of the GUI or lack of usability but when there is a strong connection, I only have to connect once and it just goes into the background. I do like the automatic re-connection whenever it loses connection.

Pros

On a good day, Cisco AnyConnect manages to connect me to one of our VPN channels for the entirety of my workday. I do like that it automatically connects and tells you the status in a thinner window. Once you do it the first time, it's not too hard to connect with this tool.

Cons

I don't like the GUI--too austere, tiny windows with small fields and a terribly underwhelming and indistinguishable color scheme. When my company made the switch to have everyone WFH, suddenly our VPN network had to split off into 3 channels to be able to accommodate everyone and boy, it was slow during the first month. I wish there was a message on the window reciting the stats of which channel is best to connect to for faster speeds.

### "Fantastic VPN client that allows non-educated users to easily join the VPN without additional steps."

May 11, 2018

5.0

Constant awareness of my VPN connection. Easy access without additional steps to connect/reconnect. Automatic updates when the admins decide to update.

Pros

Easy as use as entering user and password. No complicated messages: user can rapidly know the status of the connection. If the connection is interrupted a pop-up is displayed and also starts to automatically reconnect (pop-up if succeeded).

Cons

When the admins changed the version, all the users got an automatic update pop up without enough information of the change. Non-educated users panicked since the update window could not be closed. The application should have a predefined (easy to understand) message for these cases for the users.

### "Connect Securely"

March 7, 2018

3.0

The software is a great product that delivers security for remote site connections.

Pros

Great way to connect securely and control employee access. It's convenient and best way to have staff members connect to your network out of the office. Once setup is complete, connecting user's is just a matter of installing the software on the remote device and mapping the server for connection.

Cons

It's difficult for users to troubleshoot when they can't connect if their home network or work network is not functioning correctly. Software should be able to distinguish and alert the user where the problem is occurring. Ex. the problem occurring in their home network or office network.

### "Most Secure VPN Solution"

September 20, 2021

5.0

I used Cisco AnyConnect, in my earlier organization. From my experience, I could say that Cisco AnyConnect is the optimal VPN solution for employees who work remotely. It allows us to connect to the company network. With Cisco AnyConnect, we don't have to be concerned about security issues.

Pros

Cisco AnyConnect is an easy and reliable VPN solution. It is the most secure VPN access for remote workers. At my work, we used this to connect to various environments through VPN. Easy and secure encryption for remote users is one of the key benefits of Cisco AnyConnect. It uses multi-factor authentication to maintain an encrypted connection.

Cons

It may be rather costly to keep software up to date. Sometimes, it fails to connect as expected for unspecified reasons.

### "A useful software for Internet connection"

September 29, 2019

5.0

I pretty much love using the software because it makes my life easier. I don't need to go to school just only for downloading several papers and then go home. I can work by the same way as that I work in the school. And this even increases my working efficiency and productivity. I will highly recommend this software to my friends and colleagues!

Pros

I used AnyConnect this software for the VPN connection. So most of the time, when I work at home, I should have the valid IP to download the scientific paper, like in the school. So I mainly use this software to achieve this goal. And the connection speed is quite fast and there is no delay even if I browse several websites at the same time. I can definitely say that I enjoy using this one for the professional activity.

Cons

What I like least about this software lies in how to use it at the very beginning. When I just started to use this software, it took me some time to figure out the settings, functions, and so on. For me, it is not really easy to use it at the very beginning, but after that, I think everything is good.

### "Easy to misconfigure"

July 29, 2021

5.0

Pros

It has a ton of features to do whatever we need and is generally a very solid product

Cons

Make sure to test/verify your configurations as it is very easy to allow unintentional access when using the dynamic access policies. The client certificate requirement settings are a bit unintuitive as well. It is also very frustrating the ASDM client is essentially required to make changes some of the settings such as the DAP policies. The umbrella DNS client built into the AnyConnect mobility client often causes issues requiring restarts of the local system's wifi or even a reboot.

### "Good VPN agent"

April 22, 2022

4.0

I have been using Cisco AnyConnect for quite some time. I have never had any technical issue with it, so I recommend it if your organization already has the licenses.

Pros

I like about Cisco AnyConnect its ease of implementation. The software has several modules including the VPN agent which I mostly use. Connecting is easy and fast.

Cons

The worst aspect of this application is its license prices. While most VPN tools are either free or extremely cheap, Cisco AnyConnect is quite expensive. It does offer more feature than a simple VPN, but still, the overall cost is high.

### "Savior in stressful Work from home times"

November 19, 2020

5.0

I have been using this tool for almost 4 years and it has always helped me in crucial times by helping me to connect remotely during the critical presentations and in COVID situation, it has proved to be of great use.

Pros

Cisco Anyconnect helps me to connect to my company’s internal network in 2 steps and keeps me connected to my emails on my phone as well.

Cons

Whenever an update is done on this tool, takes me couple of reboots to get the software up and running smoothly. After that, it works like charm.

### "Vpn Secure"

August 9, 2022

5.0

I can say that I am quite satisface with this product.

Pros

I like the fact that it reconnects automatically if the signal or the network went down. I also like the fact that it remembers the Networks that you logged on.

Cons

When I was hired at the company that I am currently working for I had a lot of issues in the sense that it got connected and disconnected over and over again. I found out that it was a very unsual issue: my router was not compatible to the Anyconnect. In the end I had to reconfigure the router in order for it to work.

### "Quality VPN"

February 26, 2019

5.0

We roll out AnyConnect, which has managed our simple auth and MFA options nicely. There is a limited amount of configurations in the UI. We can roll it out for general download fairly easily, but it's quite difficult to find any downloads not off the ASA itself. This is a really nice tool that configures pretty easily and deploys quite nicely off the Cisco ASA.

Pros

We can configure it to be managed by our HaaS provider. They manage updates and configs as we request and the vpn users just login and let their updates roll out on login. This is quite nice to serve out over the Cisco ASA. Cross-OS compatible and works very well with Windows 10 for every release so far.

Cons

Could be more intuitive in the end-user's UI. Slightly limited when it comes to configurations, it was easier to set up cert-based auth on the old Cisco VPN that is no longer supported.

### "Using Cisco Any Connect"

April 29, 2022

5.0

This application is used every day, with just a few clicks.

Pros

This software is very easy to use with only a few clicks. I log in to work using VPN on a daily basis. I usually work from home, but I have used Cisco Any Connect when having difficulty with our network at work. There is some setup involved to enter the VPN, but that is relatively easy the first time using the application. I have also added additional VPN addresses which is also very easy. The current setup at work has multiple VPNs to choose from on a dropdown list. The application is also easy for support to check and is easy for the user to check as well

Cons

Not this software but having to sign in every day. The current "clock" is set for 15 hours so there is basically no interruption. If I am unable to connect to the VPN, I do not know if it is a specific connection to that site, or a problem with my Internet connection

### "Fine, but could use added functionality"

April 24, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like that it's a simple interface. There's not much going on. I select one of three available connections, enter my password, and it connects. It's not complicated.

Cons

I wish that it was up a little bit in terms of connection stability. If my internet connection falters, I wish that there was a back-up type function where the VPN connection would linger, similar to a laptop battery. If I get a little wind at my house, even if the internet doesn't actually go down, my VPN is constantly dropping. It should be able to run on limited internet connectivity. It's frustrating that it doesn't. It's very finicky.
