Pros: I can pay people what they need, and bill people what I need. I like the API interface with it as well. That is always a plus in my book.

Cons: I don't really like that they are based out of the US. It makes it harder to talk to someone higher up in the company with the hours that I keep.

Overall: I can pay people easily, and get paid even easier. I can automate most of that using the API and that is what I love the most about them!

Pros: Some accountants prefer this software. Affordable. Seems more modern than Quickbooks in the interface and user experience.

Cons: Some accountants do not prefer this software. I felt like it had a steep learning curve. I never really could figure out how to take advantage of it so I went back to Quickbooks

Overall: I didn't really use it long enough to benefit.

Comments: This is so amazing!

Pros: Its a user friendly and it has large feature selection, better than any accounting software inever used!

Cons: xero is not super simple but when you get the hang of it, everything will be fine , its very quick and so powerful!

Pros: Robust accounting software which has been customised to individual country accounting systems, which is a bonus because many are specific to one location.

My accountant is happy working with Xero and so that makes our working relationship easier, especially being able to do remote check ups and ledger corrections.

Automatic bank feeds are well implemented.

Cons: User interface is slow to get around, could do with being a modern single page app really.

No native versions for desktop, even though it is the sort of application you need to move around fast and enter a lot of data into.

Mobile apps are clunky and not very task driven. Data entry could be smoother.

Receipt functionality is half baked. Why can't it trim and optimise receipt images like popular scanning apps do? The file upload area is hugely annoying to use, needing a tedious preview process to see what the receipt is but not allowing data entry at the same time. This effectively means you have to have a look and remember what is on your receipt.

Servers feel slow, not helped by old multipage form style design of website. Needs to be a progressive single page web app badly.

Overall: Cloud accounting that my accountant enjoys more than I do!

On the plus side, my team can enter expenses on the move, albeit in a clunky way.

Reconciliation and bank feeds are well implemented.

Pros: The entire interface is a little more friendly than Quickbooks Online, but takes some getting used to if you're a QB user. I like how you never really have to do a month end reconciliation as you just reconcile each transaction as they come in. I went with Xero because another management software that I had chosen only integrated with Xero, not QBO at the time. So I decided to give it a try and ended up liking it.

Cons: The reporting options aren't as customizable as I'm used to in QB. For example, I would like to print out a P&L by month, showing Jan-Current Month to date. But I can only print a monthly report going backwards- showing the current month first and then going back each month. So instead of left to right: Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr etc. It will only give me Apr- Mar - Feb - Jan.

Overall: Overall it works and keeps my books in good order and is simple to use.

Comments: Before you move to Xero I strongly recommend to consider above comments

Pros: - Cloud base. - 100 Users at no additional charge. - Start Up business: Yes - Payroll extra feature but available when you pay a premium

Cons: - No Telephone Support. - No Remote Support. - No Back-Up. - Their terms they are stating that they don't take responsibility in case they lose your data (remember it is cloud) - The software seems to be affordable however they make money from third-party apps this means if you are not careful you are ending up to spend more. - They offer a free migration up to 2 years of your books however you will get a surprise, not inventory and other areas of your books need to be reconciled so another words be prepared to spend quite a lot of time. - Additionally, Xero has got Transaction limitation on the monthly basis which they don't tell you which is.

Comments: I am very disapointed in Xero. After all the troubles I have had with using there service they do not want to refund my money. This is the 3rd company I have created with them and this is not the first time there has been problems with the bank reconciling.

Pros: *It has some good features and alot of support videos. *it is fairly easy to use *Has a decent app.

Cons: Worst support I have ever dealt with. No phone contact support I was being sent back and forward through email between Xero and my Bank to try and fix the reconciling problem. After 3 weeks of contacting Xero and my bank and still the problem was not fixed I decided to cancel my subscription

I am a happy user.

Pros: The interface is simple and effective - the integration with Dear Systems for inventory management is very good.

Cons: It's not always intuitive and the management reporting is clumsy/clunky. The reporting side is the weak point.

Comments: Overall I like it more than any other softwares for small businesses

Pros: - navigation around icons is easy -easy to understand -can attach documents -can view attached docs easily

Pros: Accounts receivable reports, Integration with Bill.com, ability to copy from invoice to PO, Bill and vice versa.

Cons: No actual bank reconciliation. No undeposited funds to combine more than one check when received from customer. When print checks to pay bills, lists all items instead of just the invoice amount and number on the check stub.

Overall: The only benefit and reason I use Xero is because Client insisted because it integrates with his retail sales force application Magento.

Pros: I recently started using it and there are many things that I have not discovered yet. So far everything is working very well, I think it could be a good option for the company where I work. The options of bank connections and reconciliations I think will be very useful

Cons: They should leave multi-currency from the most economic plan. It would be great to have it from the beginning

Pros: It has medium difficulty, but it has a large community to answer questions, I like the ease with which you can customize the invoices and how you can perform the reconciliation of a bank operation with several of the accounting

Cons: There are accounts that are of the system but if errors are recorded in that account it is practically impossible to correct it without having to modify a large number of accounts

Very basic and limited function. Can quickly outgrow if your organization plans to grow

Cons: Development team does not put out obvious functions in time. Very limited functionality and is better used by companies outside of the US.

Comments: Xero is for me the best alternative /competitor for QuickBooks. Love the smoothness and the features are flawless. I got to try out the trail version and I'm impressed at what the capabilities are. Good recommendation for accounting in the cloud.

Pros: - Best advantage above some other great cloud accounting systems is the multi currency feature - Great invoicing features: send automated invoice reminders, customize templates, bulk invoicing. - Inventory: Bulk import, best seller tracking, untracked and tracked items. - Connect Apps to increase effective accounting, inventory management or sales.

Cons: - Some like cloud based systems, others don't. Thing is you have to have an internet connection in order to work. - For enterprise purposes, you might look for a more advanced system. But this software covers almost every aspect of running a good business.

Pros: Saving a lot of time compared to Sage 50. Everything is so much easier to view in real time and share around the team.

Cons: Some terminology is different to Sage so that takes a little getting used to, but other than that all good.

Pros: It's web based, looks good, and works (ish) with many systems through the API. They fixed the Stripe integration, finally, which was a problem for years. The customer service is fantastic. I've been on a first name basis with my personal customer service representative since day 2. Every time I have a problem he quickly helps me figure it out, regardless of how basic. The interface is intuitive and flexible. What I like best is the unlimited user capability for no extra charge. It is also convenient to have multiple people logged in at the same time. This allows people to be using it in the field as well as the bookkeeper in the office.

Cons: The phone app is not as expansive or fully functional as I would like. It can be used but not the best. It is sometimes easier to log in through my phones web browser than through the app. Setting this service up was a PAIN. I hate dealing with accounting anything, and honestly quickbooks was a way easier and painless setup. But now that I have it up and running it's going okay.

Cons: - Xero offers some amazing invoicing features (like bulk invoicing), there is only a single invoicing template, and it¿s very underwhelming. - There are hardly any customizations options; in fact, all you can do is add your logo - In order to import .csv files into Xero, you have to spend a significant amount of time downloading Xero¿s unique invoice formats and reconfiguring your file to fit their templates. - The lack of a project/task feature and the lack of job costing could be a big deal breaker for some small businesses

Pros: Cloud availability, choice between manual or automatic accounting, incredible reports, easy to print, beautiful, fun to use, don't have to be an accountant to use it, fantastic break-down of categories and overhead vs. cost of goods. Shows great percentages - growth overall, percentage of sales per category and percentage of expenses per category - easy to understand the nuts and bolts of your business with Xero and make quick changes to your business model when a problem arises.

Cons: Balance sheet leaves much to be desired - harder to figure out than the rest of the software and difficult to understand in conjunction with the profit and loss. It's not possible to see a comprehensive financial picture - perhaps what makes it so great for non-accountants is its simplicity makes it hard at times to get into the nitty gritty. The billing aspect of Xero is atrocious, just really, really bad. Invoices on "repeat" stay in a strange ticker until you command them to be sent, it creates a lot of problems. Definitely have a separate billing software if you use Xero, especially if your clients are on subscriptions. I wish it integrated better with a growth planning tool - integrates with CRMs fine but doesn't help you look into the next couple of years, or present a future picture to investors.

Overall: Understanding the numbers! I'm finally educated about my own business, which sounds ridiculous, but so many business owners are creative dreamers that never look at the numbers. Even ones that are successful don't look at the numbers because they feel like it's not necessary - and that's the biggest lie in the world. It's so easy to share the reports with people at all levels in the company, and I feel a fantastic sense of control with the numbers because of Xero.

Comments: Xero makes accounting fun rather than a chore, the system learns as you use it and automatically completes reconciliations. The phone app loads fast and is easy to navigate.

Integrates well with email and the other cloud based software apps we use. Link to IRD makes filing tax returns quick and easy

Cons: I only use Xero for one business. If you operate more than one business the email integration is a bit clunky. There are a large number of 3rd party apps which integrate with Xero to perform peripheral accounting functions eg time sheets, job costings etc, not all of these are as easy to use and learn as Xero.

Pros: -Xero appears more professional than Quickbooks. -Offers the currency I use -Simple to use -Double-entry accounting -Offers expenses, invoicing and uses the CoA

Cons: It tends to be a little repetitive for certain things. The invoices also look weird (expenses as well) for inputting. I prefer Quickbooks in this sense. And then invoices require additional approval, even though i'd be approving my own invoices...It also took me some time to find the CoA

Pros: Over the last 5 years I have found Xero to be so much easier to use that what I used before (Quickbooks). It is also a great value, since it includes accounting, payroll processing, payroll tax filing and payment, and just about everything else I need to run the finances of my business. The tight integration with Paypal to receive payment on invoices is especially nice.

Cons: Over the past few years Xero has a addressed some of the less convenient aspects of the platform. The only thing that is still annoying is that there is no automatic feed for my bank. Only 4 U.S. banks (plus Paypal) have direct feeds. Users who bank with other institutions, have to go through a cumbersome process with Yodlee to update their feeds. That means entering the username for your bank and a confirmation code sent via email every time you want to update the transactions.

Overall: Easy to use, lots of value for the money.

Using Xero has made financial reporting to committee members a breeze

Pros: As a lifelong spreadsheet user for every kind of financial record, report, explanation I subscribed to Xero expecting to drop it within days. I even doubled up on every entry, one in Xero and one on a spreadsheet. Within 2 weeks I said goodbye to spreadsheets completely and became best friends with Xero. It's a great piece of accounting software, easy to use, great help guides and really does provide an abundance of reports . I can honestly say it has saved me hours of work each week and I have just completed my year end which for the first time ever (in over 30 years) was an absolute breeze Definitely here to stay!

Cons: A couple of the functions could possible do with a couple less keyboard actions to complete but nothing major and certainly doesn't deter from plus points

Overall: Saved hours of time, produced much more professional reports

Cons: There's only one thing I would need that isn't currently available and that is a way to accommodate accrued sales

Comments: Please make it more user friendly and make available some telephone support or have an option to do an online chat to sort out issues

No built-in Debtor Chasing, which is something a business needs in order to ensure payments are made on time.
It is cumbersome and time-consuming.

Pros: The reports look very professional and modern. It is simple to navigate the software and it is very cheap to purchase.

Cons: It is a little to simple for large companies to use, it is better suited for small businesses that have their less need for extensive internal controls. Large companies would probably need something tailored to suit their needs. Xero has a very good easy to use chart of accounts (for setting up). I just feel off the shelf software is really only appropriate for small business. Auditors do not like off the shelf products due to the way data can be manipulated .

Overall: Used this when I was working in public practice, lots of small business clients would drop their data in to us on a usb key and it was easy to import into our version of Xero so that we could work on it. Data can also be emailed, so saved time for clients having to visit our office.

Pros: Xero helps me manage the financial side of my business. It is available on my PC & mobile devices, so that I have access at all times. It is fairly easy to set up Xero, although, as a non-finance person, some of the accounts and how to get everything set up correctly is a little confusing. The good news is that support is there to help. Things like customizing invoices is straight forward. I also appreciated the direct connection to PayPal.

Cons: I am not sure it is the software's fault, since finances & taxes aren't straight forward, but it is difficult to get all your accounts right. Here again, it could be an issue with my credit union, but I was not able to get my credit card (which required a separate connection) to connect yet. PayPal also gave me some grief, but I think that might be sorted out now. These things just make the accounting process less straight forward, even if they aren't Xero's fault entirely.

Overall: The largest benefit is an overview of my business finances. Invoicing is also a vital aspect of the tool.

Pros: The thing we love the most is that any if our key staff can keep their purchases sorted, inputted and up to date while they are on the go. Not one document sits in a tray to be entered later.

Cons: It would be great if the app was developed to do more than it does already. Reports is something that would be handy on the go. Possibly on the go quotes too.

Pros: I love that I can invite my accountant to the software for end of the year handoff for taxes. I also really appreciate the ability to attach paypal or stripe to easily accept online payments from my clients.

Cons: I believe the expense report filing could be made easier or have more support in understanding how to categorize expenses when you are still learning how to do business accounting.

Pros: Has to be the bank feeds. Makes the process of reconciliation painless , especially if you are not a bookkeeper. Deals well with paypal and other credit card batch deposits. Makes on the fly data entry easy.

Cons: They need to sort out the Accounts Payable and Receivable reports to include invoices up to the end of the month but including subsequent payments made after that date. Makes sending customer statements tedious if you don't do it on the 1st of the month and even more inconvenient if you need to produce a aged supplier report for 20th month (may just be a NZ thing)

Overall: Mainly integration with Cin7 and Magento

Pros: I love the ease of use to set up and to create rules to remove repetitive actions. It takes approximately 10+ hours off my business a month. I also run two other businesses via the software and have a similar experience. The help is really easy to search and the customer support is great in terms of time to reply to requests and accuracy of responses.

Cons: It can take a long time loading a list of suppliers, for example. Minor changes in data imported off bank statements can mean rules dont function as expected.

Overall: It saves a lot of time. Makes repetitive tasks mostly a thing of the past. Excellent reporting.

Pros: The reports setting and it's filter, the automatic bankline features and the fact that it does stick rigidly to accounting principles so you can't go that wrong. The import from excel feature does save hours.

Cons: I dislike how you can't look (and potentially undo) things that you have just done, for example falsely raising an invoice from the excel function since there is no batch delete option for awaiting payment invoices which may have been incorrect.

Overall: Makes book keeping easy for me. Very easy to navigate rent payments and such.

Simple affordable software. My accountant & Xero has made me into a happy book keeper!

Pros: Running 2 busy little cafe's where margins are always challenging, we need constant access to our accounts all day every day. Xero have made it so easy to use that you don't mind working with it every day.

Cons: As someone who is on the move or on the restaurant floor a lot of the time, I would love to be able to access some of the basic everyday reports from the mobile (app) version.

Cons: I don't fully understand the reports and how to really take this software to the next level for full financial management and budgeting. But there are plenty of experienced bookkeepers who can be engaged to assist.

Comments: Really good bit of software for the small businesses being run internally. When you get to the complexity where you need an accountant, might be time to move on.

Pros: I have been a customer of Xero many times from the start and seen their march to dominance first hand. It is a great software application that could be used by anyone, and not just the accountants on behalf of business small business owners. We loved it so much, which resulted in development of solutions through our UnifiedVU platform.

Cons: Unfortunately as the market grows, Xero has become little bit complex. The roll out of some of the APIs have been slow, especially in the areas of Payroll in the UK.

Comments: By incorporating Payroll, we were able to streamline our wages and salaries, it saved us a lot of time.

Pros: It is very easy to use. Retrieving reports from the software is great, almost everything you need for reporting is available or customisable. They also regularly add new reports. The Community is good, I have referred to questions placed by other to find out how to do something.

Cons: There is limited inventory management and you are limited to only 2 active tracking categories. More guidance could be available when setting up a payroll system - there have been times when leave balances have not updated on an anniversary.

Pros: As a 1st time small business over, Xero is great value for money and quick and easy to use. With 0 employees it is easy to reconcile transactions between my business bank account and my accounting software. It's all done for you! Just go through and confirm which is for what. It only takes a few minutes. Having easy access to discuss or query my accountant at any time through the cloud set up. Pros: Ease of use along with multi platform support we use Mac iOS and Windows so it's important that we get the same feel across all . Xero has a very easy to use app but most of the time we use the browser version. Online invoicing while not an exclusive Xero feature is a real cost saver.

Cons: I had some experience with MYOB and Quick books and this was quite a leap as the feel and tech is quite different. The ability to connect o other products is not great if you go outside the already integrated packages (which we did) At the moment we still do not have an integration point between the LOB software and Xero and still have to double entry.

Pros: The Dashboard feature shows all the relevant information you need in one easy to find spot. I don't have to look in 5 different places for one information. It also send out automatic reminders on overdue invoices, which takes a lot of the work off of my plate. Entering and paying invoices is also very easy and straight forward.

Cons: Setting up the banking details for payruns wasn't very intuitive. There were several hurdles that you have to go through, and it can be difficult if you don't know exactly what xero is asking for. Reconciling the bank is also a bit confusing, but only at first. Once you learn how to split payments it become a lot easier

Overall: A very simple and easy to use software that allows me to track all of my financial information. I also like the fact that I'm able to upload a copy of the invoice to xero so I don't have to go fishing around for the paper copy

Comments: It would be useful if salary and job history was displayed against each user - as it is you can only see their current role and salary, so it is really difficult to track individual/group progression for reward and benefit purposes.

Pros: It's cloud based, and easy to edit pay runs, and the reports are simple to run. The number of hours for holidays can be edited for half days etc.

Cons: The online help forum is difficult to navigate and doesn't usually answer my questions. There is no explanation/error report when something goes wrong - e.g. if a pension filing doesn't go through, Xero will notify you that it has failed but gives no indication as to why. There is very limited functionality for recording people data.

Cons: Invoicing has some limitations, eg there is no way to add a date field to an item. I have to manually type this in the description on every invoice which is tedious. The find & match doesn't work very well for me. I receive bulk payments for multiple invoices (sometimes 50+ invoices in 1 payment). It's time consuming trying to filter and match all invoices, especially when the max list per page is smaller than the number of invoices I have to match.

Comments: You will be happy with this software. Make sure you have a good accountant or bookkeeper backing you up as their are new features all the time. Be proactive and make use of them!

Pros: I love the feel of it. I find it very intuitive. It has great reporting options and I love having the app on my phone. The app works great for taking pics of receipts on the go (right in your system) and for invoicing on the go.

Cons: I wish it had Canadian payroll! That being said the payroll integrations with Wagepoint and Payment Evolution are great.

Comments: Very impressed with the ease of Accounting. In Particular it handles foreign currencies very well, the bank reconciliation integration is great and the output of reports into excel is very good as it uses the excel total formulas making it easy to customise

Pros: Ease of use, excel functionality, bank integration

Cons: Doesn't have a heirachy structure to allow reporting and roll up by cost centres. Xero Has a tracking facility but it doesn't have the roll up functionality .

Recommendations to other buyers: Great for a small business

Our small business uses Xero to great effect with invoicing and tracking of all finances.

Pros: Extremely easy to use. Allows transparency and access at all levels, and has streamlined our finances and flow.

Cons: Not much to dislike, other than the ability to reap increased rewards from referrals. Personalisation to the back-end could be improved.

Xero marketed hard to accountants & I was conned into changing - my accountant won the prize for the most clients converted!!!

Comments: I have found this to be a frustrating system, I am accustomed to MYOB support, when I need to learn something new, the email approach of responding in 24hours makes it really impossible to gain any relationship. When I complained, Xero response was "Sorry you want to leave us - heres how to change"!

Pros: Xero is from New Zealand & has expanded extremely well via a strong programme of marketing to accountants. As a SME not much to like!

Cons: Lack of customer support - Xero doesn't consider me a customer only my accountant. Ive paid in full, & my account was cancelled with no notice, my wages were late. All this because Xero shut me down on Friday night - the message read "Your account has been suspended - contact BDO"

Very good cloud based small business accounting software.

Pros: Full cloud based and mobile optimised. Easy to configure cost codes and get going virtually immediately.

Cons: Found the pricing initially confusing with free trials of different lengths. Just pay monthly and it's an easy cost.

Comments: I stopped the service and they kept all my company information and accounting details for the entire year. They wouldn't let me access them unless I paid. That's right THEY RANSOMED me for my own accounting info. Since it's only a web based program, if you don't want to pay anymore, you don't get to access any of your data. Isn't that fun. Sure you can export and document with everything crammed in there, but you can't use it easily or transfer it seamlessly to quickbooks etc. And the other issues: the interface is lousy. Their transaction recognition is really bad and their rules don't work very well. So if you are like me and have a lot of credit card transactions, good luck, cause you'll be at the screen for hours. I could go on about how it won't recognized the payee from the bank account line because it thinks it's the reference line etc, but you should never have to learn this for yourself. Be warned. The reporting is a joke. An absolute joke. You spend all month or year inputting data and then you want to go pull up some reports to see how everything is... well sorry you can only use their pre-designed reports with little or no customizable function. Want to pull income and expenses for specific categories and accounts... nope sorry, you can do specific accounts or categories or accounts, not both. Infuriating to say the least (this is why I decided to stop using) There is literally no customer service. That means literally. None. You cannot get anyone on chat or phone. The only thing you can do is email and wait. No real-time interaction.

Pros: the colors were nice. It's pretty cheap. The bank accounts seem to refresh 50% of the time. The name is easy to remember

Cons: * online based so they keep you information of you cancel service BEWARE * transaction recognition is terrible - you'll spend hours entering the same transactions * Reports are non-customizable and basically useless * Customer service does not exist. Literally does not exist. No possibility of realtime help under any circumstances.

Pros: Matching recipt transactions to Bank Accounts is so easy and simple, and the reason I moved away from another (albeit free) solution.

The basic chart of accounts is a good starting point for a non-accountant like me, plus I like the ability to add custom tracking options (although there is room for improvement!)

Managing expenses is simple.

The limited customer service interaction I've had to date has been average, although still waiting for a resolution.

Cons: You can't invoice different people at the same company using the Xero address book; there are a myriad of various work around a but no simple and obvious solution. When I researched this on the community forums I saw it is a long standing and high demand customer request which to date hasn't been addressed or satisfactorily acknowledged by Xero.

Further, in this research I noticed that they seem to struggle to effectively communicate with customers via the support forum and are lacklustre in acknowledging when something is wrong. Growing pains of a booming SaaS business? Possibly, but it doesn't take much to get this right and they don't seem to.

Overall: Huge time saving an visibility into my accounts. Plus I use it across a few businesses which helps.

Pros: It was an inexpensive alternative to Quickbooks, which we were looking to get away from. Overall, it's not a bad option.

Cons: The syncing with our bank account is somewhat laborious and slow. I wish that were a bit more seamless, but it might be due to the security settings of our bank. Not sure.

Pros: Xero is much easier to use than some of its competitors. I love that payroll calculation are done (without added costs) and filling is so easy!

Cons: I don't like that you have to pay extra for sales tax filing. I don't feel as though it should be a premium service.

Pros: Auto import of bank transactions for simple, easy reconciliation. Very easy to set up and very flexible in the use of a standard chart of accounts or use your own.

Cons: Does not handle projects and/or jobs very well although with a bit of thought can work around.
Don't like how contacts database can very easily get out of control by the automatic addition of new nonsense contacts created from bank transaction imports.
Waiting for a Project/Job Costing module to be added.
Payroll not as slick as rest of the accounting app.

Overall: Time saving in bank reconciliation

good software, let down by dated design interface and unstable bank feeds.

Pros: I love that it is cloud based and the app is very user friendly. I also like that I can toggle between all of my businesses in the app without having to enter username and password for each account.

Cons: The only disadvantage is that more people are not aware of the software. I found it slightly difficult to find an accounting firm in my area that was proficient in using XERO.

Pros: Web based, mobile friendly, always up to date. It can do everything Quickbooks does, but better and more intuitive

Cons: Learning curve is steep, but that's to be expected. You have to learn how to do stuff you previously knew.

Comments: Really easy to use - customer experience is fantastic. Don't need to be a genius to work it out. Very sexy look and great customer service if you ever get stuck. Plus you have other users who can assist.

Cons: Quite expensive relative to others.

Comments: Online accounting has been a game changer for my business. I shudder to think of the hours wasted previously with offline behemoth MYOB. It has saved me an insane amount of time!

Pros: Xero does a good job of keeping invoices, bills and expense claims separate. I use Xero mainly for expense claims, and it's very easy to add multiple line items, and calculate tax rates, etc.

Cons: It seems to take an extra step to see a visual of an old receipt submitted. Sometimes the software runs a little slowly.

Using Xero for 2 years. Beats Quicken by a long shot.

Pros: It actually syncs and works, as opposed to Quicken and quickbooks that have so many glitches it is ridiculous. The reconciliations are very reliable. You do not have to worry about pressing a wrong button and having to redo everything or having duplicate entries like happened to me in Quicken where I lost 6 months of reconciliations in a single data upload.

Cons: Little pricey. Software is only used for accounting once a month in my case. I however syncs like 10 different accounts for us. Amazing.

Overall: Amazing syncing capacity.

Pros: Great for in office businesses and can I say invoices are the bomb with Apple Pay. I experienced a 75% increase when the option for Apple Pay came available. Love it

Cons: There isn't much to say. The only thing is cost. When I was starting out I couldn't afford the costs with the account.

Comments: It's not all that popular in the US yet, but I believe it will be within a few more years

Pros: The software is very intuitive compared to many other programs. Also, you can reconcile transactions as you record them

Comments: Fine for very small businesses and sole trader. Get an ERP if you are any larger.

Pros: Editing of invoices, journals, and other transactions. Bank feeds and uploading statements. Reconciling is a breeze. Exports to Excel provided throughout.

Cons: Very slow except on a 1Gb network. Setting between different entities not preserved. Settings not preserved by session Big exports often hang

Comments: Fantastic program to use for small to medium size businesses.

Pros: SImply easy to use compared to a lot of other packages. Easy to edit any incorrect items that are costed wrong. Love the integration with the banks, a super handy feature to save a heap of time.

Pros: Great layout, pretty robust system that seems to just make sense for me and the way I work. Lots of reports (that my accountant can run remotely). I do all of the day-to-day accounting and management of finances, but if I run into a question, I can go to the xero community and find an answer to my problem (or lack of understanding). I also like being able to upload receipts for reconciling, etc.

Cons: I seem to have a problem logging on/writing checks after hours or weekend evenings. Occasionally, things just seem to get stuck in a loop and eventually time out.
