" April 11, 2026 4.0 My overall experience with Clockify has been a postive and profitable one. I use it daily and was able to restructure my client billing based on tasks and time spent. Pros I use Clockify daily and recommend this product to most of my clients. Clockify is easy to use, cost effective and a usefull tool when it comes to task management and client billing. One of the best things about this product is that it can be tailored to specific needs. I love that there are multiple subscription levels so most people can just pay for the features they need. Clockify also offers free basic time tracking. Once I started using the free version, I was able to really look at where my time was spent and realized I was not using my time as efficiently and profitably as I thought. I also use the mobile app to track time, billing and driving when I consult with clients out of the office. Cons I have not find anything I do not like about Clockify but I also do not use any of the advanced features or highler subcription levels. The time tracking features, reporting and mobile app are perfect for my needs to help me manage my business and small team of contractors. Now I also use Clockify for my own personal and work projects to track my time. Pros The best thing about Clockify is the price. It’s cheaper than other tools if you want to upgrade your billing plan or your team grows. If you work remotely with other people, it’s a great way to track time, see where you’re spending most of it, and spot opportunities to be more productive. It’s also very easy to use and you can quickly create projects and track tasks without much setup. Cons The interface isn’t as polished or visually appealing as some other time-tracking tools I’ve tried. It’s quite simple, effective, but not very customizable. You can’t personalize reports that much, but it’s not a big issue overall. Vice President Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Surprisingly, it does run without messing up anything" August 3, 2026 5.0 At least we are not using paper anymore to keep track of hours which was probably the most important reason for this process since it keeps tracking your time for you so you don’t have to do any math on Friday. And the “Offline Sync” feature seems surprisingly good as well and even saves the data when I lose my internet connection in the basement and the customer service is also good. Pros I like Clockify to log the start and stop of my clock. I liked having the Chrome version so I wouldn’t have to open another tab to get into it. I’m just happy it has been working to track my time without freezing up my computer. I also am glad we were able to replace the paper cards with it – I didn’t like those anyway. Cons The reports are such a pain to review when all I need are my in and out times. Additionally, since some of us are on multiple projects we can’t merge those project tasks together — each one needs to be done separately from each other. Pros Not much, to be honest. We attempted to use it for a while in order to track projects but it never quite did what we needed it to do. Cons As a nonprofit, we needed some very specific features that Clockify did not have and the existing features didn't quite meet our needs either. If you just need to record how you spend your time over a number of projects and then happy to use other systems or apps for analysis or projections- this one is for you. Pros Excellent platform for breaking down your time across multiple projects. In terms of value for money it is reasonably priced - not to high but recommend using the free version till you and your team get a feel for how you want to incorporate it. Very easy to use and has a simple intuitive navigation. There are some lags across multiple devices but that is to be expected when using it in that manner. Cons In terms of issues - main one is it is not easy to add additional time stamps whilst system is running - you need to stop current timer - add the additional ones and then restart. There is also an issue with limited connectivity with other apps. Even at the Free level, it offers Unlimited tracking, users, projects and reports. That is pretty amazing for a free level tool. Pros Clockify is super easy to set up. I needed to provide detailed project time tracking for a client. I did a little research and found Clockify. Within 30 minutes I had my account set up and my client projects configured. I was able to quickly and easily generate timesheets for the client. Cons I really would have liked to be able to integrate the Clockify time tracking with something like Wave: Small Business Software for invoicing. That would have simplified my invoicing process and allowed for better tracking. I think the issues we ran into were more so about the two performing together, rather than separately. Ended up switching to a time tracking tool that works hand & hand with our payroll company. Pros I liked the easy access through the google chrome plug in & the ability to change your time card if you accidentally left your timer running easily. Cons The relationship it had plugging in with Basecamp, I think it could be coded better to automate things. Sometimes it wouldn't show up next to tasks, which is an issue for ease of tracking time. Cons Literally no cons that I can think of. No downtime. When I forget to clock out, I receive an email notification that the timer is still running. It looks pretty and the reporting is very good. As I mention earlier, it's a little confusing when you start - so check any tutorials to get a head start. I don't have much experience of other time tracking tools, but this one is pretty good when you get used to it. Pros I love the timer, so you can set a timer when you start a task - don't forget to turn it off! The reporting is pretty good, it's easy to see what people have been working on. Mae sure you take the time to think about what you want to report and set it all up first, this is well worth the effort or you just get haphazard reporting. I like the fact you can go back in time to add work if you forget. Cons It's not as simple as it seems. It's sometimes tricky to know where to start - is it a task or a job? This still confuses me. Maybe I've missed the basic intro video, but it's not always obvious how to start something and make sure it's recored properly. Cons Sometimes when sending reports it can be easy to forget to change the settings to "last two weeks" and it seems to be defaulted to the last time I used it? It has stopped the constant arguments about whose hours are what hours as everything is now logged digitally. I forgot to log my hours yesterday and I could easily go in and add them after the end of the month. My cold coffee is staring at me but at least I don’t have to deal with spreadsheets. Pros The facial recognition did catch my face. I liked how I can log into the app from my phone, I am rarely sitting at my desk so I appreciate that feature. All you do is tap a button and it goes. I didn’t have to read through the instructions or a manual to learn how to use the basic buttons. Cons It seems like sometimes it will take an eternity to sync the app from my laptop to my phone. I also get bugged by the app asking for gps permission every day. Like why does it need to know I’m in the break room for the fifth time today? The process of setting up with the support team took 2 days of going back and forth and was completely frustrating. My PC didn’t die when I started up the app. I like how the side bar navigates easily. I didn’t need to open a guide book to get to the team settings. I feel relieved that it has the ability to handle multiple projects so I can see were the time is being spent through peak times. Cons As far as syncing speeds go they are really slow between devices most of the time. It helps me keep everything organized so I can bill my hours properly and keep it professional down to the second! Pros Clockify is such an easy program to use for keeping track of your time. For being a free program, I love using it! You can switch from "stop watch" mode to manual entry really easy and you can also label the different projects for each time recorded too which makes it easier to keep track if you are someone who clocks into multiple different projects like me. I like to use it because I don't know of any other apps that do what it does, I haven't really researched it but I would probably recommend to find something else before using this app. Pros I like that it calculates the hours for you and you can even put in tentative hours for future days to see what your week looks like as a whole. Cons I do not like that it has a lot of internet issues. It will have a spinning wheel of death for a couple minutes before it opens and works. I still don't like that it's outdated for iPhone. I know I've had a problem in the past with hours not showing a monetary value which has been a software error however it's been sorted quickly. Really easy to amend and also get useful reports from that can be used internally and shared externally via links Cons There isn't really anything I don't like about it.
