Now I also use Clockify for my own personal and work projects to track my time. Pros The best thing about Clockify is the price. It’s cheaper than other tools if you want to upgrade your billing plan or your team grows. If you work remotely with other people, it’s a great way to track time, see where you’re spending most of it, and spot opportunities to be more productive. It’s also very easy to use and you can quickly create projects and track tasks without much setup. Cons The interface isn’t as polished or visually appealing as some other time-tracking tools I’ve tried. It’s quite simple, effective, but not very customizable. You can’t personalize reports that much, but it’s not a big issue overall. Even at the Free level, it offers Unlimited tracking, users, projects and reports. That is pretty amazing for a free level tool. Pros Clockify is super easy to set up. I needed to provide detailed project time tracking for a client. I did a little research and found Clockify. Within 30 minutes I had my account set up and my client projects configured. I was able to quickly and easily generate timesheets for the client. Cons I really would have liked to be able to integrate the Clockify time tracking with something like Wave: Small Business Software for invoicing. That would have simplified my invoicing process and allowed for better tracking. Pros Not much, to be honest. We attempted to use it for a while in order to track projects but it never quite did what we needed it to do. Cons As a nonprofit, we needed some very specific features that Clockify did not have and the existing features didn't quite meet our needs either. I love using clockify to track my projects with various clients. I even use it to audit my personal time! Pros It's easy to use. Even the free version covers a lot. I love being able to track various projects and various clients. The flexibility with adding time by clocking in/out vs adding time manually is nice. Summary and reports are easy to export, making it easy to invoice clients. Cons It's a little difficult to find where to change billing amount for the clients. Pros All the required functionality is built in from Time Tracking to Project Budgeting and Billing, Tracking actuals vs budget, Invoicing, Project performance management. The platform itself is very easy to setup, manage and use, which for our company was key. Also comes with straightforward though completely usable time off and expense tracking functionality. The time tracking plugins are awesome especially for busy teams that would rather spend time building functionality than recording their time. The customer support provided by Cake team is top notch. Given the price for comparable tools in the market, which may come with more functionality, however given our requirements Clockify was the perfect fit for our needs. Cons One of the areas that needs further improvement is approvals, both for time and time off requests as well as for expenses. Need the ability to route the approval to either a Team Manager or Project Manager (should be configurable when setting up the project). Also users should not be able to self approve time and time off requests. Pros Fantastic value for money and simplicity of this software makes me keep coming back to it to use again and again. It's not as burdensome as other time trackers and doesn't require 5-6 clicks to just get a timer going like others do. It fits my workflow like a glove. Also - offline time tracking - so important. Cons The last time I used it, it was lacking in integrations with other softwares. If there is a notion integration that would be appreciated. March 9, 2025 5.0 Overall, I found Clockify to be very efficient, both in functionality and cost effectiveness. It improved project management, including when we used freelancers. We were able to identify bottlenecks in productivity and optimizing our workforce. Pros We loved the ability to tracking time spent on specific clients and break that down into tasks and projects for that client. Timesheet can easily be submitted to supervisor for approval, making payroll processing easier. Integrates well with Asana and Quickbooks for billing our project specific clients. Before Clockify, many times revenue would fall between cracks in reporting time, so it really reduces revenue loss. Also, Clockify was a big help in tracking workloads, employee productivity, and expenses. Cons Not good for mobile employees as it doesn't have GPS tracking. Manual entry of time led to a couple of time where employee reporting was inaccurate. Strict monitoring is required. It looks pretty and the reporting is very good. As I mention earlier, it's a little confusing when you start - so check any tutorials to get a head start. I don't have much experience of other time tracking tools, but this one is pretty good when you get used to it. Pros I love the timer, so you can set a timer when you start a task - don't forget to turn it off! The reporting is pretty good, it's easy to see what people have been working on. Mae sure you take the time to think about what you want to report and set it all up first, this is well worth the effort or you just get haphazard reporting. I like the fact you can go back in time to add work if you forget. Cons It's not as simple as it seems. It's sometimes tricky to know where to start - is it a task or a job? This still confuses me. Maybe I've missed the basic intro video, but it's not always obvious how to start something and make sure it's recored properly. Cons We could not find a perfect integration with our payroll system. At the moment, we use Deel, and there is no integration. " January 25, 2026 5.0 My overall experience with Clockify was a positive one, and it provided the time data we required and presented the information in a clear and concise way to ensure we could analyse the data to interpret what it meant for our tech audit. It was a useful tool and led to a successful project. Pros We recently used Clockify to obtain data about where team members are spending large amounts of their time in order to make tech improvements and efficiencies. It is easy to use and customisable so you can create as many time recording categories as you wish, and also colour co-ordinate them for ease of use. It provides automated reports to collate the data. It was the best value for money we could find to achieve what we required. Other teams were interested in using it to track time spend on specific projects to help with billing and project collaboration amongst team members. Cons Occasionally it was difficult to make a manual adjustment to a time record, say if you left it running, but I think this was a small bug and you could fix this by deleting and manually enter the time record. I didn't use their customer service, but I suspect they could of resolved this, as other users did not experience this issue. It works just as well on mobile as desktop devices. Pros You get a lot with the free plan of Clockify, including tracking time against specific tasks and projects. September 14, 2025 4.0 User friendly. Once you understand the basics it is very easy to use! Just need a bit of tweaking by programmers for timing issues. Pros Provides a daily breakdoen as tasks are entered for easy calculations when invoicing clients. And you can then produce a report for weekly review. Cons Manual time entry does not allow for calculation by seconds - so need to allow for this when entering calculations. I have tasks that regulsrly take 3.5 minutes and have to stagger entries between 3 and 4 minutes so calculated correctly. We are able review the teams work load at a glance and help moderate any bottle necking of workloads for any one staff member. It helps to identify inefficiencies and evenly distribute the work load. Pros It is highly customizable and great to use for small and large teams. Aesthetically it is also pleasing to customize and modify to some very fun colors. It is a very accurate tool as well and provides great insight on data analysis. Cons It can be finnicky and you must be diligent in using it properly - punching in, pausing and punching out, switching amongst tasks and entering any one off tasks that may come up. Pros I like that you can keep projects together under one client. you can I really like that you can keep track of several different sessions of working on the same project under one line. Other tracking software forces you to add those sessions together for a daily total. I like to use it because I don't know of any other apps that do what it does, I haven't really researched it but I would probably recommend to find something else before using this app. Pros I like that it calculates the hours for you and you can even put in tentative hours for future days to see what your week looks like as a whole. Cons I do not like that it has a lot of internet issues. It will have a spinning wheel of death for a couple minutes before it opens and works. I still don't like that it's outdated for iPhone. The low cost is a plus for those just starting out. January 13, 2025 5.0 User friendly, very quick access via the Google extension, almost zero learning curve as intuative. Reasonably priced and suited me better than some of the alternatives. The reporting is in depth and certainly goes to the level I need (B2b marketer). So all in all, tracking time made simple. Pros So easy to use and you can select client, project and task options so keeps everything very simple. Adding the Clockify to the browser bar using the extension means its all but a click away so if youre like me and jumping from one task to another (regardless of start of the day intentions) then this really helps keep track of where tike is spent and for whom. Cons Two things, one, sometimes if its left running then i need to manually find errors and resolve. And two, the trial was, understandably, a little limiting so I felt I had to purchase the full version to really see if I'd keep using it. I particularly like the fact that it’s got a free version that can do a lot, it gives you an idea of what the app is and helps you decide if you want a paid plan and surprisingly there’s even more advanced features and I like the fact that it can integrate with other tools. Cons The mobile interface feels a little bit too much, if I may say it needs a cleaner more easily accessible interface. The constant bug is also an issue which Ofcourse requires frequent updates. I know I've had a problem in the past with hours not showing a monetary value which has been a software error however it's been sorted quickly. Pros Very straightforward to setup and get started with. Really easy to amend and also get useful reports from that can be used internally and shared externally via links Cons There isn't really anything I don't like about it. Pros It is a very user friendly platform. It is easy to understand how to start registering the time spent on different tasks during your shift. You can add as much records as needed and make modifications if needed. It is nice to have a google chrome extension to make the process faster. Cons Would be nice to have a undo option because sometimes by mistake registers can be deleted and cannot be recovered and you must remember the start and end time to add it manually.
