I still use it today when my projects require hourly tracking. Pros I have been using Clockify since 2021 and found it to be an excellent value for the money. It’s very easy to get started and to use. Tracking projects and then generating reports are where it excels. Cons Honestly, I didn’t find any “cons” when working with Clockify. I haven't found another website that I prefer over this one. Pros its free which I like. I do like the ease of use for keeping track of multiple clients, as I am a VA for a few different people. I also like that you can do timer or manual time entries. Cons its not super user friendly to keep track of time taken off of a retainer. and the PDF invoice isn't super great but it works for what I need! Review Source Paige S. Cons I wish it were a little easier to use for people that aren't technologically advanced as we do have some older individuals at our office. August 7, 2025 4.0 The onboarding/sales process was great and we felt very supported with a really knowledgeable member of staff showing us the ropes. I like how you can assign hours to different projects which really helps when people are doing additional hours. Pros There is a lot of functionality to explore and we are probably not utilising it to it's fullest just yet! The expenses function is so easy and great to use on the go. Cons There's not much I don't like about the system but overall it was just a huge change from the outdated ways we were doing things before so it was a bit of a learning curve for some employees who may not feel very tech-savvy. Pros What I like about the most with clockify is the fact that I could keep track of the employees clocking in on the sites with the GPS locator as well as keeping track of the billing hours. Cons What I like the least about clockify is the fact that if an employee did not clock in and you need to edit it it's a little bit time-consuming to correct that manually. We are able review the teams work load at a glance and help moderate any bottle necking of workloads for any one staff member. It helps to identify inefficiencies and evenly distribute the work load. Pros It is highly customizable and great to use for small and large teams. Aesthetically it is also pleasing to customize and modify to some very fun colors. It is a very accurate tool as well and provides great insight on data analysis. Cons It can be finnicky and you must be diligent in using it properly - punching in, pausing and punching out, switching amongst tasks and entering any one off tasks that may come up. Pros I like that you can keep projects together under one client. you can I really like that you can keep track of several different sessions of working on the same project under one line. Other tracking software forces you to add those sessions together for a daily total. Pros Brilliant software for tracking the amount of time employees use for jobs so that we can ensure the right amount of time is being offered to them in the future. This means less burnout for employees and deadlines being met consistently. The free plan is also great - we never felt a pressure to upgrade for a good service. Cons There's no auto-scheduling or shift swaps and no ready-made reports available. It helps me keep everything organized so I can bill my hours properly and keep it professional down to the second! Pros Clockify is such an easy program to use for keeping track of your time. For being a free program, I love using it! You can switch from "stop watch" mode to manual entry really easy and you can also label the different projects for each time recorded too which makes it easier to keep track if you are someone who clocks into multiple different projects like me. I like to use it because I don't know of any other apps that do what it does, I haven't really researched it but I would probably recommend to find something else before using this app. Pros I like that it calculates the hours for you and you can even put in tentative hours for future days to see what your week looks like as a whole. Cons I do not like that it has a lot of internet issues. It will have a spinning wheel of death for a couple minutes before it opens and works. I still don't like that it's outdated for iPhone. Cons We could not find a perfect integration with our payroll system. At the moment, we use Deel, and there is no integration. The in depth reports are so useful for various payroll needs as well as to understand profitability per client/project. I love that I can add it as a browser extension and easily log time without having to switch tabs. Cons Sometimes when sending reports it can be easy to forget to change the settings to "last two weeks" and it seems to be defaulted to the last time I used it? Not sure, but I have accidentally downloaded the wrong report - possibly just user error. We are now monitoring True hours vs Quoted hours, which has an obvious effect on profitability and resourcing. Pros Time tracking from Clockify has been an absolute lifesaver working in an agency! I can track hours designers and copywriters spend on client work and create clean reports for billing. This Chrome extension is used by your team to start/stop timers without having to leave the place where they are working. Cons The UI on mobile is a little cumbersome and I'd love to see some deeper integrations with some of our invoicing tools.
