The initial set up is easy. Adding new clients, projects, and team members is a breezy. Clockify has streamlined not only our tracking and client invoicing, but also team and independent contractor payments. Pros I have been using Clockify for my business for about 2 years now. The interface is user friendly and has great tracking and accounting abilities meant for businesses. While we tried other platforms before finally landing on Clockify none of them met our needs the way Clockify does. Cons While I wouldn't consider it a con, I would like to be able to insert a button for payment into the invoices and/or have the ability to connect our Clockify through our payment processor. We switched because platform shut down web features. This removed the ability to create reports and analysis. I've been using it for 5 years now and it allows us to track time across projects, export to CSV, then into Xero so that our chart of accounts show what the team has been working on. Prior to this we were using Toggl, and I've tried a few other time tracking apps, but Clockify makes it all too easy. Pros What I like most about Clockify is the ease of tracking time. It's so easy to add new projects and clients on the fly, and the reporting functions allow us an in depth overview of where and how the team uses their time. As an employee who also uses the reporting function, it has been a dream come true. Reports are can be as basic or detailed as I needed them to be and are quick to generate. Cons There was a recent update that changed the way the date and times display that makes it so you no longer see what day of week it is when you are entering time. For example, before it would show "Monday, October 7th" it now only shows. "October 7th". Cons Timer restriction is paid one. and the option for the User role creation is missing. I can track my work activity to be most productive, and know where I am loosing time / money! October 10, 2024 5.0 Clockify is my favorite, and most highly recommended tool for small business! I really appreciate what the free version had to offer and the paid version really is just as good. We are able to really break down where our team is spending their time and increase productivity. It's also helped us spot so many little things (like that we weren't training well enough on a specific task). Pros I love how easy it is to use and how customizable it is from the admin side of things. The calendar view of time is so helpful as well as the plugin for Chrome. We also love the new time split feature! What a life saver when you forgot to switch tasks!! Cons I wish the reporting and graphs were more cumulative! I'd love to see different visual options and the ability to compare two specific data sets on one report in a variety of graphs/formats. That would help us even more easily stay within Clockify always rather than using a third party data service. I can colour-code entries to keep different types of files straight; I can enter data ahead of time, in the moment, or retrospectively; my team uses the app together because we share files; Pros \- the app works great on my Android phone and on my computer - it's user-friendly, easy to understand at a glance, and there are multiple ways you can track time - it's really easy to add new clients and there is space to add as much/as little detail as you need - we've created different templates for the different types of clients we work with, and they are easy to edit when changes are needed - entries can be billable and non-billable - I can add basic details first and edit details later (I often make entries on the fly) - we work on files over long time periods, so the different reporting functions are very valuable when we submit hours for billing - you get a reminder if you leave a timer running - the support folks are efficient and very helpful \*the app really only keeps getter better over time! Invoicing used to be a big chore; Clockify made it simple to pull the hours together from a project and send them to a client. While there are a few features that would make it easier, such as being able to add individual items to an invoice as a flat fee rather than an hourly rate, overall the platform is extremely easy to use and perfect for the fairly straightforward time-tracking and invoicing I use it for. Just using it to add up the hours tracked on a project is a HUGE time savings and well worth the small price I pay for a monthly subscription. Pros I am a freelancer paying for the lowest personal tier of Clockify. The time tracking and invoicing features are why I subscribe to the platform; they're very simple and easy to use and save me a significant number of hours when billing clients. The time tracker is really easy to set up, and it will remind you if you're logging a lot of hours on the same project and probably just forgot to turn your timer off. I can easily sync between using the mobile and browser apps. There is plenty of detail in customizing the time tracking details, such as adding clients, projects, hourly rates, and individual tasks within projects. This also means you can get helpful reports that break down your weekly or daily hours into graphs which can be filtered. The invoicing feature is the main reason that I pay for Clockify, and it's invaluable. Pulling all the hours from a certain client's project over a specific time range is very easy. I also appreciate that I can customize how the hours are summarized on the invoice, whether by date, project, or description. The app will automatically avoid double-billing and if you have already invoiced for hours on a particular day, those hours will not show up on the next invoice, even if you make a mistake and select the same day to be part of the invoice. The invoicing feature, though simple, has probably saved me dozens of hours over the last two years, and it's well worth the minimal cost for the lowest-tier plan. And yes, the price is definitely worth noting as it's very reasonable for the functionality I receive and the number of hours I've saved. When I go through a period of cutting down on bills and subscriptions, Clockify never gets cut. Cons There are definitely a few features from the higher-tier plans that it would be nice to have on the basic one. There are few tools for planning out a job and budgeting, and the invoice form is not very customizable. There's no way to add an item to an invoice as a lump sum rather than as an hourly cost, so if I am charging a fixed price of $600 for a project I have to fill in the "rate" box with "$600" and add "1" to the hours box. But this isn't that hard to deal with. The inability to edit an invoice after I have recorded a payment has also caused me some trouble.
