October 8, 2024 5.0 I was mainly looking for a time tracker that makes it so easy to switch tasks that you don't hate tracking your time. What I didn't expect to find was an app capable of doing most of my invoicing for me with almost no additional effort. And now, thanks to tagging, I can quickly see a concise summary of how I've spent my time over any arbitrary time period, which helps me track efficiency and how much budgeted time is left on a project. All at the click of a button. It's powerful stuff! Pros Clockify offers several interfaces for tracking your time in different ways. The three things I love most are: (1) being able to quickly switch between tracked tasks with minimal effort, (2) adding my own user-defined tags to each task so I can look at my time and billing in several different ways, and (3) being able to generate exactly the info I need to write itemized invoices for several clients, all with a single click. Cons I don't really have anything negative to say. It's rare for an app to be flexible, simple, powerful, and intuitive all at the same time. Clockify is all of that. Review Source DJ Dante J. Clockify is by far the best time-tracking app for me. I have several clients each with several projects. I usually work on several projects in a day, not to mention my own, unbillable projects. Clockify makes it so easy to keep track of what I'm doing. I feel so organized and efficient using Clockify. Pros I love how easy it is to record my hours on different projects for different clients. And I love how easy it is to edit those hours if I make a mistake or forget to end when auto-recording hours. Cons I don't really have any "cons". What I would loved is an added feature to be able to flag time as "already billed", and then run a report for billable unbilled hours and billable billed hours. If this is already possible and I'm missing something please let me know! The first thing that I like is that to set it up is not complicated at all. You do not need to be a tech guru to get it right. The fact that you can even track your time across different projects is a fantastic one for me. Another highlight for me is that I can actually integrate my Asana, Slack and Google workplace so I can keep track with no stress or fear of missing out on anything. Pros As someone that does remote jobs, what I like the most about Clockify is the fact that it is very easy to use and you can also get a very good report that makes tracking time very easy. October 8, 2024 5.0 This is the second online tool I have used for my accounting keeping, and it is a HUGE leap forward when compared to the previous one (which I used for another year before that). I only wish I had switched to Clockify sooner because the whole (otherwise tedious) task of keeping track of time/tasks/money turned that could actually be fun! Another (nerdy) thing I really love is the visual representation of the data.. It is really cool and informative when looking back to the past months, analysing tasks and projects. Pros What I like the most with Clockify is the flexibility to see different data with just a click away. Then the ability to export that data takes another click. I work as a freelancer, offering my services to 3-4 different entities, with which I have different agreements and work approach. Hence, it is quite nice that Clockify gives me flexibility when adding a projects, keeping track of tasks, etc. Cons I have been using this software for a bit over a year now and there aren't features that I dislike. Perhaps one thing that threw me off was the thing with setting up a project... A couple of times I forgot to set the hourly rate, did some work and only then I realized that I needed to plug in my hourly in order to see the amount earned, and for some reason it didn't update the old entries.. (this may have been a function available to the paid tier, though.. ) So as I said, nothing that I really dislike.. It has helped me establish trust with clients, as I can outline exactly what I've worked on and the time it took. Clockify also helps me prioritize my day, as I can report out what I've spent my month on so far to ensure no client gets left behind. Pros \-Label time spent by both the client AND the project -Have a running clock or enter time retroactively -Free plan for freelancers -Reporting feature perfect for billing (I include a detail report filtered by client & time period with monthly invoices). An unexpected benefit is that by using Clockify, I am getting better at estimating future tasks & projects. I can review how long something took me the last time I did it and use data to base my project estimate on. Clockify helps me from over/under estimating when bidding a project. I can easily change times when I accidentally go over, for example, or change the time zone when I'm required to. Cons I'd like an option for more themes. Maybe more dark themes that change the colors a bit. Just to give it more variety. It is very easy to quickly review the tasks done and time spent on each task to calculate the velocity of team members and assign tasks for next sprint based on that. 2. It is easy to share the list of tasks done in a certain time frame with the clients on the go if needed 3. It also acts like a task management tool personally for me as I put estimated hours at times for a week to see if the tasks make sense as per priority and then clock the exact time. 4. It helps track productive hours rather than just normal in and out times. 5. The interface is simple and does not require lot of user training. Most of it is self explanatory. Cons Clockify doesn't integrate well with anything in my experience. We use Airtable to track tasks and Slack to communicate. Slack and Airtable work together really well. Clockify doesn't. So I can't see tasks the hours it took side by side in either platform. It's a great way to track my time and I use it as a basis to input my timesheet. It would be great if Clockify has a planning capability - I am using another app to integrate it to my calendar for now, and then using Clockify to record the time I spent on those tasks. Pros It integrates with my calendars and task. Able to tag tasks by clients, projects, etc. Can track billability as well. Happy to have the timer and auto tracker! Support has been great either. Cons Bugs - the last time I used the plugin, my Chrome keeps on crashing and it took me awhile to find the issue out. Cons Sometimes it doesn't sync properly and if I forget to refresh, it will appear as though the clock is still running. Cons That it doesn't do the work FOR me ;) haha. Probably the only thing is that that the terminology between Clockify and my integrated software isn't consistent.
