Clockify has been building and becoming better at providing features that the new job trends may need. I like how they add new features for admin as well as employees to benefit from. It's light and efficient. Really happy with it! Pros Clockify provides the option of tracking hours and adding them manually. However, the feature I like most about it is the variety of reports. It allows you to easily check the summary of all different categories and is so easy to use! This feature is particularly helpful for payroll. Cons I work on different projects for work. Even though it is easy to add the projects, each time they are selected/started in the timer, it allows it to be edited and once it is, the project shows up multiple times. I did not like that. I love the little things like the favicon in my tabs changing when timing/not timing! Cons Nothing, everything is intuitive and easy to use. Maybe the option to connect it to apps like Asana and Slack perhaps. I also struggle with the IOS app sometimes, I'd like a bit more control and the ability to amend time entries. I like the fact that you can enter hours in several ways, including a start/stop timer and a calendar where you can see your Google/Outlook appointments and convert them into billed hours. I like the fact that you can share a project with a colleague and see hours entered by him/her next to your own (although you cannot revise somebody else's hours unless you pay for a subscription). Another feature worth mentioning is that you can give your customers access to a real-time report of the hours you are entering for their project, keeping them up-to-date on how much they are spending on you. Pros After using this product for many years, I am happy to say that they kept their promise and their business model: provide a fully-functional platform for billing for free while adding high-quality premium services for subscribers who pay a monthly fee. Cons I still have trouble in finding a serious shortcoming with this product. Maybe I don't like the fact that all my data reside on the Clockify service and that, apparently, there is no easy way to quickly produce a full backup (one can download data to Excel one year at a time). Pros I appreciate that there's a free option, and for businesses that need less capabilities than a larger companies and need to save money when small, this is a helpful way to get started without incurring another cost. Cons There are certain elements of the free version, like project templates, that seem like they could be included - it's not that hard to create the phases each time, it's just annoying and seems like a feature that could be included to help really small businesses like mine get ahead, which would entice me to use the paid product if I eventually grow and hire people. Similarly, having to manually mark time entries as billable if you forget to set it up right away seems like an odd speedbump in the free version that could be changed. Pros It's very flexible and customizable, and the developers clearly make quality-of-life and comfort features a priority (e.g., SSO, dark mode, restart, etc.), which I appreciate as a daily user. Cons The WORST is that when editing start and stop times manually, the minutes are often changed to one after or one before the number that I wrote. I'm guessing that's due to rounding of seconds, but this is invisible to me on the user side, and very annoying, meaning I have to submit a time one minute after the one I want (for example). The favorites list is not as developed as it could be (the starred units are too high level, I want to star more granular parts). It's also hard as a user to check sums of time logged that aren't pre-configured (with limited, non-owner controls). It helps me to see where my time is spent on projects and where there can be changes made for future projects. Pros I like that clockify is easy to use. This program is great for tracking time on projects. In engineering we use time tracking to verify that we are not under/over charging for our services. We also use the different labels to pinpoint areas that use more time. The labels on each project help future projects for time use and how many areas there are that need time tracking. Cons The only thing I do not like is sometimes when tracking times the program will not let me adjust times. For instance, I need to have the time start at 0800 and end at 1100. Once in awhile I will only allow 1059. No matter how many times I change it to 1100 it bounces back to 1059. I end up deleting that entry and putting it in again. Occasionally when needing to adjust times, getting the correct day and time is difficult. There have been times that the tracking went to another day; while adjusting the time/day it will not allow the correction resulting in deleting the event and re-enter the time/day for the project.
