I truly wish there was an alternative Pros The interface is very user friendly, it's easy to integrate with ecommerce and easy to manage replying to customer reviews. Cons It seems like it's a bit of a 'necessary evil' to have, on one hand we need a system to collect customer reviews, but also the ability to reply to any reviews and so we're left paying for this expensive bit of software just to manage our reputation. I received what seemed like an automated reply with no name that they still wouldn't allow my review due to their automated detection technology. Pros The website was easy to use and fill in the boxes to leave a review. I didn't realise though that trust pilot would choose which reviews were going to be added to their website. Cons My review was removed because trust pilot use automated detection technology which checks your location and the review for advertising or harmful/illegal content. I reviewed a local business which I was able to provide documentation for and didn't include any advertising or harmful/illegal content and my review was still not allowed. Several of my friends who also left genuine reviews for the same business had their reviews removed. I get to read from authentic experiences from customers in real time, and it really helps to decide whether or not companies are legitimate. 10/10 product in my eyes. Cons Trustpilot is only as useful as the reviewers that use it. The more reviews, the more reliable Trustpilot's reviews are because we get to read from a variety of sources as opposed to one very satisfied/dissatisfied customer. My profile showed 4.3. And now Trustpilot has deleted 6 reviews from my customers. Now I'm back at 4.0. It looks like Trustpilot is deliberately trying to damage my business. TO ALL NEW BUSINESSES! Our account was set up incorrectly under the wrong company as we operate as two entities. It took 1.5 months to get it corrected and the subscription was useless during that time. 3. We were set up with stars instead of written testimonials as we requested. So I was told it’d be more expensive. This should have been told to us up front. Again, useless during that time. 4. We were given a link so that our clients can submit an UNVERIFIED testimonial. Why would we want that? This was not shared until after I cancelled cancel. 5. Since we’re Retirement Planners and our clientele are older or elderly and aren’t tech savvy enough to create an account after clicking said link so we have a ZERO conversion rate so we have gotten NO benefit from Trustpilot. 6. You get ONE notice of renewal that went into my junk and didn’t see.7. I was told that someone marked my account for non-renewal on 1.3.23 and yet that was not the case. They’re trying to say we renewed for an entire year.8. Today is 5.20 and I have reached out SEVERAL times since 3.2 to discuss our account with someone. It took over 1.5 months for our account manager to contact me.9. They don’t keep good records so they don’t have “proof “of they tell their customers.10. They don’t care about customer service or how it has impacted their customer. Pros NOTHING. We got ZERO benefit from Trustpilot. Complete waste of money. I had a strong aversion to paying review sites for "tools" to help manage reviews. This was a mistake. We couldn't be more thrilled with our Trustpilot account (and their account team). They did a fantastic job helping us get integrated and really walked us through how we could tell our story online better with ratings and reviews. They also helped quickly identify customers who didn't have a great experience so we could fix the problem. Cons Nothing. Gathering reviews on such a large scale ensures the quality of service is made clear and we believe this is vital in our marketing in the early stages of the sales funnel. With so much of it being automatic is has also saved us countless man hours that would otherwise be devoted to requesting and processing feedback/reviews. Pros The ability to collect and moderate reviews is made really easy in their business portal and API links. We are able to send out invitations to reviews automatically to our customers which then enables us to collect a lot of great feedback, but also important constructive criticisms. The stringent rules on who can leave a review ensures that sabotage is non-existent. Only customers who have proved they have had a direct buying or service experience are allowed to review, meaning spam or malicious negative reviews are taken care of quickly. The compliance team at Trustpilot is great for this. The features that they enable us to embed into our marketing and online material (on the upgraded package) offer a great additional trust element to our brand message that is easy to use and easily customised. Cons Customer support is really lacking when it comes to communications regarding account issues. Billing problems result in downgrading of the account and almost complete loss of functionality with no warning, despite having a dedicated account manager. Trying to get assistance from their customer support team late in the afternoon or on a Friday is impossible as you get sent around in circles emailing/calling different people. What's great about is the ease of response and snapshot insights that we're able to receive. I like that even with the free account there are some customizations available. Cons I feel like TrustPilot could be a bit more involved when someone submits multiple reviews about the same issue. Sometimes they'll catch it and note it's not part of the overall score - but other times they don't. Also, if we do a request for more information from the poster and they don't respond, it doesn't give us any avenue to address their concerns and the review should be removed in my opinion. I don't bother to fight these as TrustPilot is not our main review platform, but if it was this would definitely be more cause for concern. President Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Years of frustration, terrible investment" October 13, 2020 1.0 The last straw that finally pushed us to sign up with another review company (Verified-Reviews), was when a customer posted a horrible review about our company and insisted that we discount a product they wanted by 50% or they wouldn't remove the terrible review. We were not ok with extortion and thought showing Trustpilot this totally inappropriate demand from a rogue customer would result in the bad review being removed. Shockingly Trustpilot refused to take down the bad review even after we showed them proof in emails from the customer that they wouldn't remove the review unless we discounted one of our products by 50%. We had enough being taken advantage of by Trustpilots outrageous fees and contracts, then they allow customers to extort us, and customer service was horrible... we are SO glad we left! Pros Trustpilot had a better UI / design than other 3rd party review platforms, that eventually turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing mistake that our company should have recognized far sooner. Cons We find Trustpilot's renewal practices oppressive, with the exponential price demands, very unreasonable, and with terrible service on so many issues we experienced with their back end system. Then the amount of fake reviews being left by spammers was a daily annoyance that we had to manually flag; it became impossible to accept after we'd have multiple reviews left in a day from people leaving fake reviews on our acccount about a TV they bought, or a vacation package, it very quickly dissolved into nothing but a major headache for our team to monitor and Trustpilot's customer service was worthless. Cons There are some things that are missing or could be improven, for example there is not a "news" or "articoles" section.
