I truly wish there was an alternative Pros The interface is very user friendly, it's easy to integrate with ecommerce and easy to manage replying to customer reviews. Cons It seems like it's a bit of a 'necessary evil' to have, on one hand we need a system to collect customer reviews, but also the ability to reply to any reviews and so we're left paying for this expensive bit of software just to manage our reputation. In fact, I'd say best ever. Pros The best thing about Trustpilot is its reliability. As the name suggests, the reviews are always pertinent and trustworthy. For the products and services I have already tried, I find that my opinion is on a par with the majority and where I have not heeded the advice, I have regretted it. Cons Some of the more professional services like car traders seem to have their own reviewers. I think Trustpilot could improve their coverage. They will likely respond to this review with a generic statement about "contract terms" and directing us to their support team – but that is exactly the issue. Their "support" consists of canned responses that do not address real concerns. Any business considering Trustpilot should be extremely cautious and ensure they understand the full implications of their subscription terms. There are alternative platforms with far more ethical business practices. Pros Trustpilot’s platform is well-known, and having customer reviews in one place can be useful for businesses. The integration options are solid, and the basic functionality does what it promises. Cons Trustpilot’s aggressive renewal tactics and lack of transparency make them a risky partner for any business. I received what seemed like an automated reply with no name that they still wouldn't allow my review due to their automated detection technology. Pros The website was easy to use and fill in the boxes to leave a review. I didn't realise though that trust pilot would choose which reviews were going to be added to their website. Cons My review was removed because trust pilot use automated detection technology which checks your location and the review for advertising or harmful/illegal content. I reviewed a local business which I was able to provide documentation for and didn't include any advertising or harmful/illegal content and my review was still not allowed. Several of my friends who also left genuine reviews for the same business had their reviews removed. My profile showed 4.3. And now Trustpilot has deleted 6 reviews from my customers. Now I'm back at 4.0. It looks like Trustpilot is deliberately trying to damage my business. TO ALL NEW BUSINESSES! It helps you see what others think before you decide to buy or try something. Trustpilot also has ways to spot fake reviews, so you know the feedback you’re reading is more likely to be real. Businesses can respond to reviews too, so they’re held responsible for how they treat customers. For example, a couple of months ago I had a terrible experience with a travel company. I was not having any luck with them. I attempted to post my complaint to BBB, but for some reason they rejected my complaint. I tried again and they said it was a duplicate complaint and rejected it. I came to Trustpilot to let others know of my experience and hopefully hear from someone higher up in the business. Because of Trustpilot, I received a call directly from the company and a full refund. Thank you, Trustpilot! I had a strong aversion to paying review sites for "tools" to help manage reviews. This was a mistake. We couldn't be more thrilled with our Trustpilot account (and their account team). They did a fantastic job helping us get integrated and really walked us through how we could tell our story online better with ratings and reviews. They also helped quickly identify customers who didn't have a great experience so we could fix the problem. Cons Nothing. Gathering reviews on such a large scale ensures the quality of service is made clear and we believe this is vital in our marketing in the early stages of the sales funnel. With so much of it being automatic is has also saved us countless man hours that would otherwise be devoted to requesting and processing feedback/reviews. Pros The ability to collect and moderate reviews is made really easy in their business portal and API links. We are able to send out invitations to reviews automatically to our customers which then enables us to collect a lot of great feedback, but also important constructive criticisms. The stringent rules on who can leave a review ensures that sabotage is non-existent. Only customers who have proved they have had a direct buying or service experience are allowed to review, meaning spam or malicious negative reviews are taken care of quickly. The compliance team at Trustpilot is great for this. The features that they enable us to embed into our marketing and online material (on the upgraded package) offer a great additional trust element to our brand message that is easy to use and easily customised. Cons Customer support is really lacking when it comes to communications regarding account issues. Billing problems result in downgrading of the account and almost complete loss of functionality with no warning, despite having a dedicated account manager. Trying to get assistance from their customer support team late in the afternoon or on a Friday is impossible as you get sent around in circles emailing/calling different people. Web Content Manager Consumer Goods Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great Experience using Free Version" December 7, 2022 4.0 Pros Full disclaimer, we are using the free version of TrustPilot and have been for a year or two. What's great about is the ease of response and snapshot insights that we're able to receive. I like that even with the free account there are some customizations available. Cons I feel like TrustPilot could be a bit more involved when someone submits multiple reviews about the same issue. Sometimes they'll catch it and note it's not part of the overall score - but other times they don't. Also, if we do a request for more information from the poster and they don't respond, it doesn't give us any avenue to address their concerns and the review should be removed in my opinion. I don't bother to fight these as TrustPilot is not our main review platform, but if it was this would definitely be more cause for concern. President Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Years of frustration, terrible investment" October 13, 2020 1.0 The last straw that finally pushed us to sign up with another review company (Verified-Reviews), was when a customer posted a horrible review about our company and insisted that we discount a product they wanted by 50% or they wouldn't remove the terrible review. We were not ok with extortion and thought showing Trustpilot this totally inappropriate demand from a rogue customer would result in the bad review being removed. Shockingly Trustpilot refused to take down the bad review even after we showed them proof in emails from the customer that they wouldn't remove the review unless we discounted one of our products by 50%. We had enough being taken advantage of by Trustpilots outrageous fees and contracts, then they allow customers to extort us, and customer service was horrible... we are SO glad we left! Pros Trustpilot had a better UI / design than other 3rd party review platforms, that eventually turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing mistake that our company should have recognized far sooner. Cons We find Trustpilot's renewal practices oppressive, with the exponential price demands, very unreasonable, and with terrible service on so many issues we experienced with their back end system. Then the amount of fake reviews being left by spammers was a daily annoyance that we had to manually flag; it became impossible to accept after we'd have multiple reviews left in a day from people leaving fake reviews on our acccount about a TV they bought, or a vacation package, it very quickly dissolved into nothing but a major headache for our team to monitor and Trustpilot's customer service was worthless. Cons There are some things that are missing or could be improven, for example there is not a "news" or "articoles" section.
