I will say that it is a great platform for customers to provide feedback and for companies to receive feedback. It's also super easy to use for both customers and administrators. Cons There are some flaws with the review reporting function. Often times, customers would write illegitimate reviews, but if the reasoning for their illegitimacy didn't fall under TrustPilots cookie cutter categories for reporting, they would get denied. I take the time to respond to the reviews, but actually receiving reviews takes little to no effort after setup. Cons We had some issues with setup that meant that we got a high number of disgruntled reviews from people that had accounts with us, but were not customers (because we are not in their state). We were unable to get these removed because "we sent them the email". This was not really explained to us during setup - we were told people that left bad reviews but were not customers would be removed. It provides many useful tools like reporting and the possibility to include multiple modules to integrate Trustpilot in other environments. Cons Trustpilot pricing is quite expensive. It certainly helps me to make an informed decision about a product etc, It's logo and name very recognizable. It seems authentic and confident. Cons I am using it for years as a customer but like to know more about its background. What is at the core that makes it trustworthy. It looks to me a self-acclaimed status for Trust Pilot. I recently wrote a review on it and it was submitted and was happy to have edit option as I needed to fix typos. However I was totally thrown back when I clicked on to become a certified reviewer. It needed me to fill a form, be ready with an ID etc. It was such a lengthy process. I wanted to help but it felt so stressful so I just closed the window. I find that the UI is really clean and I like that the reviews are in date order. Pros Before purchasing something from a specific site for the first time, I always consult Trustpilot so that I can evaluate the experiences of other buyers. It has definitely prevented me from purchasing things from unscrupulous merchants and I find it impressive that they offer this for free! It's a great source when you can't rely on word of mouth from others in your circle. I also like how when negative reviews are posted, companies can reply to the review. This helps to give you a sense for how the company treats disgruntled customers and also lets you see their side of the story. Cons There aren't many cons to speak of but I think it would add to the experience if Trustpilot were to show words or ideas that were most commonly used in the reviews somewhere on the page. Pros First of all, I REALLY like the design of the site! They have a really high quality site from effects to icons, everywhere. Very easy to use. That kept my attention to this site at the first time. I also like that they show you how many reviews you have done in total and how many people have read them and found them useful. That kept me going for writing more reviews. Also, a VERY VERY good feature is that they notify the company/site you are reviewing for your review if you want to. It is VERY easy to write a review, in two steps really, two steps! And last but not least, they have almost ANY site that there is out there for you to review, amazing! Cons Honestly, I can't find something that I don't like about this site but if I have to say something maybe I would say that they don't pay you for the review you write, after all you put some of your time there. But this won't stop me for doing more reviews in the future. I'm just saying it would be really nice if they put this feature in the future. We saw a boost in SEO with the use of the TrustBoxes and it has also been a huge help to our overall online reputation management with organic search stars on Google etc. There were some features that we were having issues with that best fit us as a company but would not translate to others. However, Trustpilot listened and even scheduled a conference call with their head developer. Very exciting stuff. Pros Very user friendly which was very important for overall implementation at our companies. Trustpilot is always updating their platform to benefit the company and reviewer. Cons I have found there are more negative reviews than positive reviews, which makes sense because more people would want to comment on a complaint than praise.
