Pros I like that my customers can freely say what they feel about my business and having a customer take their time to give a review means I can offer support outside of my own business. This in turn increases my overall customer service experience and offers potential customers transparency and unbiased business practices. Cons I didn't like the fact that people can't be screened for legitimate reviews so that hurts my business sometimes because some people come on Trustpilot to give negative reviews so that really messes up the metrics. For businesses with less than 10,000 reviews, the overall TrustScore is recalculated immediately after a new review is posted. For businesses with more than 10,000 reviews, TrustScore recalculation happens once per day, since the TrustScore will not change as quickly once this threshold is reached. The formula for calculation considers three factors: time span, frequency, and Bayesian average. -Time span. A TrustScore gives more weight to newer reviews, and less to older ones. The most recent review holds the most weight, since newer reviews give more insight into current customer satisfaction. -Frequency. Businesses should continuously collect reviews to maintain their TrustScore. Because the most recent review holds the most weight, a TrustScore will be more stable if reviews are coming in regularly. -Bayesian average. We use a Bayesian average in the calculation, to make sure that a business with fewer reviews starts off with a balanced TrustScore. This means that we automatically include the value of 7 reviews worth 3.5 stars each in all TrustScore calculations. January 28, 2022 5.0 We had tried two other review management software along with Trustpilot before implementing it. After testing it appeared to have the right cost to experience balance. Within a few weeks we were getting our reviews, finding out issues that customers were telling us about that they probably were not going to mention without prompting. Pros We used Trustpilot to monitor our customers after they received their orders. We set up an email to be sent a day after the expected delivery date to confirm the order was proper (printed cards) and asked for a review. We received about a 25% response some months. I think our average was about 10% overall. We would also set to post all current reviews that were 5star on the home page of the website and all 3+ stars on the testimonials page of the site. We could match the look and colors to match the site and even used custom stars to match. The online software was easy to use and integration was essentially copy and paste. Cons It wasn't easy to remove 1 star reviews. LOL. Actually there were not many things that I would say were issues with the software other than a non-tech person may get confused on how to set it up. However the documentation was good and support an email away. Gathering reviews on such a large scale ensures the quality of service is made clear and we believe this is vital in our marketing in the early stages of the sales funnel. With so much of it being automatic is has also saved us countless man hours that would otherwise be devoted to requesting and processing feedback/reviews. Pros The ability to collect and moderate reviews is made really easy in their business portal and API links. We are able to send out invitations to reviews automatically to our customers which then enables us to collect a lot of great feedback, but also important constructive criticisms. The stringent rules on who can leave a review ensures that sabotage is non-existent. Only customers who have proved they have had a direct buying or service experience are allowed to review, meaning spam or malicious negative reviews are taken care of quickly. The compliance team at Trustpilot is great for this. The features that they enable us to embed into our marketing and online material (on the upgraded package) offer a great additional trust element to our brand message that is easy to use and easily customised. Cons Customer support is really lacking when it comes to communications regarding account issues. Billing problems result in downgrading of the account and almost complete loss of functionality with no warning, despite having a dedicated account manager. Trying to get assistance from their customer support team late in the afternoon or on a Friday is impossible as you get sent around in circles emailing/calling different people. I had a strong aversion to paying review sites for "tools" to help manage reviews. This was a mistake. We couldn't be more thrilled with our Trustpilot account (and their account team). They did a fantastic job helping us get integrated and really walked us through how we could tell our story online better with ratings and reviews. They also helped quickly identify customers who didn't have a great experience so we could fix the problem. Cons Nothing. The salesperson was not willing to be flexible with the contract. At least 99% of SaaS companies offer a monthly plan vs a 12-month plan. This company only offers a 12-month plan and bills quarterly. Completely false advertising of their pricing and commitment. Pros It's nice to have another place where folks can review our company. Cons Beware of total sales scam! First off, we've received nothing but 5-star reviews, but somehow Trustpilot only displays a 4.1-star average. It's as if it's some kind of tactic to get us to reach out to them so they can sell us on a BS 12-month contract. Their website is a total bait n' switch, as it says nothing about being billed quartlery (only shows monthly price). They also bury their mention of a 12-month contract way at the bottom in the FAQ section. For businesses with less than 10,000 reviews, the overall TrustScore is recalculated immediately after a new review is posted. For businesses with more than 10,000 reviews, TrustScore recalculation happens once per day, since the TrustScore will not change as quickly once this threshold is reached. The formula for calculation considers three factors: time span, frequency, and Bayesian average. Regarding payment terms - these should have been made clear in your contract. September 4, 2023 5.0 I found it tricky to use, because I have several email addresses, and trustpilot doesn't enable me to link them, thus downgrading my own reputation, which detracts from its value. Pros What I like most on trustpilot is it enables to make comparitive judgement on similar suppliers, by means of a dashboard style score. Cons As a consumer, there is little chance to modify or update reviews once they have been made, you can't add a reply, so if the supplier sends you a white widget by mistake, and you ordered a green widget, then supplier makes a false claim, saying we sent you a green widget, there is no continuance of thread.That example could allow occasional complaints to be glossed over, on the other hand, if the company responded and said we're sending a green widget today, and you then wished to edit, or reply and change overall opinion and rating you cannot, again as an end user.
