I searched hard and couldn't find any decent alternatives. Cons If the plugin breaks then it doesn't look great on the website - the geotargeted text disappears altogether, which isn't ideal. Using credits cost to much, so I tried using it with a Maxmind database. Worked well, except adding the the database needed to be done through FTP - there is no user interface in the plugin for that. Support was fast to respond and helped with minor things. Never found a way to make the plugin work a 100% with caching though Cons The plugin claims to be compatible with caching plugins such as WP Rocket. However, what it does is disable WP Rocket on the first page load. Far from ideal in my mind. The user interface could use some more help notes and a feature to upload your down database. Ended up finding an alternative, since the caching never got to work. Review Source Jesús G. Ingeniero de proyectos Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "This is a great, ease to use and efficient solution when trying to show content by geo data" December 5, 2017 4.0 As the GeoTargeting plugin website says, the plugin are based on IP's databases that will let you accurately target 99.9% of your users. That database lives in a server and plugins calls the API to return the user location, so that is an incredible feature, because the plugin updates instantly and fast. Another nice feature is that the GeotWP team think in our money! They have built a "cache mode" that let the site owner save credits (a credit is like a cookie that is spent when a new user visits the site) and spend less money while having the best geotargeting results. Pros I like the simplicity of setup, it just requires a simple wordpress installation and you can start showing or hiding content by your specific preferences. The plugin adds a button almost everywhere where you can select countries, regions, cities, even small towns (by IP range) where you can show specific content. Cons I think dev team could improve a little bit more the UX in the admin panel, considering that people who use WordPress tend to be a non-developer. Review Source Kevin D. We were also able to display different product images depending on the release date of their new hardware. Very helpful to their marketing team and our overall sales success. Pros The ability to add countries to regions so I could consolidate and shorten the length of code required to perform our needs. There's also a free tier which is really useful for me when making the decision to purchase the product. Pros High accuracy of geo-targeting content to the right audience from the right country. The plugin extends beyond just post and pages, it appears in other plugins as well. The pricing model based on and API call is a fair one as the are quite aggressive in caching location of the client to make sure no extra calls to the API is made. Personally tested this myself while in different countries. We have found features such as the ability to hide menu items based on location, and the ability to hide content very useful. We have used it to successfully make the website accessible to international visitors. Cons While the features are great and work as intended, we have found the accuracy of the location detection to be very sub-par. I'm not the most technologically capable person, so anytime I've had a question about how the product works, the response has been clear and effective. I also don't think there is any software like this online, so this is great. Cons There isn't much I don't like. Sometimes I wish the capabilities of the redirect were expanded to more than just pages. The setup is also a little tricky.
