Pros: Our company has offices in various places around the country, and we have client-facing reps in multiple offices, so being able to share client information and notes easily is something that we've been working to perfect. Sure, there are project management software solutions, but finding a place to keep a running list of clients and relevant notes has been a work in progress. Google Sheets finally seems to have become the Gold Standard for us. We have so many spreadsheets, and while it can sometimes feel overwhelming the number of Sheets we have shared in our company, it's working for us. Each team has their own, teams have shared Sheets, we create them for fires we need to put out, and more. The fact that they are living documents allow us to see in real-time where we are with various clients, leave notes for each other, see what's coming up, and more.

One of my personal favorite features is that I can tag a coworker into a document if I have a question about something. Similar to Twitter or Facebook, a simple @ and their name alerts them to my comment, so they know they have an action item in a certain Sheet. It's really streamlined some of our processes, and in one case, even eliminated a meeting because we can now simply keep a Sheet updated and everyone just knows to check in regularly.

Cons: There are just a few things that are off compared to Excel, and I'm a Microsoft gal by nature, so there has been a little bit of a learning curve. Other than that, it's simple, straightforward, and gets the job done.

Pros: - Very easy to use.
- No licence fees required to use this spreadsheet
- Auto save for person's important data, so no need to remember for saving of data.
- All the formulas of mathematics can be used very easily.
- Pivot table and pivot chart can be prepared in easy manner.
- V lookup and H lookup is possible very easy and convenient manner.
- It is cloud based so that person can use her/his data from every corner of world, by just sing in with her/his gmail id
- Person can access this spreadsheet from any computer whereas other spreadsheet software required her/his own computer to access data already prepared.
- Large number of sheets can be prepared under one parent spreadsheet.
- If person is using google drive for any specific folder for her/his computer, then all the excel files automatically gets converted to google sheet when s/he access her/his google drive.
- Very easy and simple as offline excel.

Cons: well it is very few and difficult to identify but still there are few
- Some functions are difficult to use compare to excel
- One function of excel which is format printer, till time I am not able find the same in google sheets
- For generating raw wise series of serial nos. for example 1...100 , in excel person just need to take cursor on bottom right hand side of cell and s/he can drag with mouse and then press button of fill series. In google sheet this simple process becomes difficult.
- As the data remains on cloud privacy of data becomes the main issue, and due to this reason only few people use this kind of software.
- Like google drive google sheets also become redundant if there is problem of internet connectivity.

Overall: Easiness of access of my spreadsheet data. And very importantly anywhere access of my important data.

Pros: This is an excellent replacement for Microsoft Excel (for most users, see notes in my "Cons" list for more info): For almost everything I need, Google Sheets replaces Microsoft Excel and more (meaning that it adds features beyond what Excel can accomplish).

Collaboration is key: Real time collaboration is excellent in this software. My current most common use case is doing research with a real time collaborator. Both of us type into the same spreadsheet at the same time as we talk about our research subject and fill out different parts of the spreadsheet. We then leave multiple comments for our research assistant who follows through by replying back to comments, filling in more data, and leaving comments back as questions arise.

Ease of use: Maybe this is more the GUI, but I feel Google Sheets is easier to use than Microsoft Excel, although both are very similar. Google keeps the option menus concise, with keeping the most used features easily accessible.

Cons: Depending on your size of spreadsheet, Google Sheets may move slowly. This started for me when I reached about 9,000 rows in one tab of one spreadsheet with multiple formulas and conditional formatting settings that are constantly running. For me, this is completely understandable being a web-based spreadsheet, and the ease of collaborating with a research assistant outweighs the spreadsheet slowing down. I am now over 13,000 rows of data and 47 columns (which is well over half of one million data points on a single page), and I still believe the collaborative functions outweigh the spreadsheet slowing down.

For most users, not being a copy of Excel is fine and won't go unnoticed. For advanced users do some serious testing before completely switching over to make sure what you need is available. Check the forums (which are very active) for answers to questions too.

Overall: The most important benefits are collaboration, ease of use, and packed features. Google is also excellent at updating features and having a very active forum answering questions that come up.

Pros: I use google sheets quite heavily, in fact I would say that Gsuite @/User/Month accounts for half of our software solutions I use for the company. At 1/17th the cost of the other half of our software solutions. Sheets is so much more than a spreadsheet software. The instant collaboration and sharing /security /publishing features turn a static spreadsheet into a vibrant work space, that with some basic understanding of functions like indirect and vlookup can auto populate information across multiple tabs to be filtered and served to different formats as applicable to their usage. When you couple this with the power of Google Forms to gather the data initially, you can create custom work flows that can power your business processes. In turn using google app scripts to link the sheet to Google Fusion Tables offer real time updates to HTML customized data "cards" which may be published with specific security allowances and embedded or reached via a URL. I use a google form to deliver real time production information to our users in a dashboard format. This same data is delivered in spreadsheet format to ensure that all production is delivered to the client. Additionally a separate uses a queried import range function filters that same data so we can make a confirmation call the day before an appointment. To recap: one sheet powers: dashboard, production delivery, and appointment confirmation... across 3 different interfaces.

Cons: There are only a few things that come to mind when considering shortfalls. One major thing for me is the inability for a user that has the ability to edit a column or range (but not the full sheet) to use a filter on that column. I have solved this issue by creating separate sheets and using import range (so native data cannot be harmed) and allowing users that I would like to allow to filter to have editing access to that entire sheet. They can then apply filters to display the data that has been imported. However, they have to frequently update/reapply these filters as they do not update dynamically as the native data is added or changed.

Overall: I have eliminated the need for two full time positions as I have virtually automated their data entry functions with interconnected sheets and data import functions.

Pros: It has most of the features of Excel, but you can more easily use it and collaborate with others. Sounds weird, but my boss has been stuck in the 1970s and was recording all customer orders (10-25 per day) on paper. The problem was, we never knew who had "the book" to record orders. I suggested creating a Google Sheet for this, and he actually went for it! Now all our sales team can easily fill in orders and record what products need to be restocked. It's not exactly the best system, but it's a huge improvement from where we were.

I also appreciate the ease of use when it comes to adding JavaScript. I was able to put in a little JS that pops you to the first empty left cell when you open the Sheet so you don't have to scroll and select it. Sounds small, but after a few years of using a sheet, that would be thousands of orders to scroll through. I also was able to use JS to automatically create a backup of our Sheet every evening after we close and deposit it into a folder on my Google Drive.

If you have questions about "how to __________ in Google Sheets," Google is your friend. It has provided excellent documentation to solve issues and answer questions about its functionality.

Cons: I wish there were an easy way to set the width of columns to be equal. I like a uniform look, just a preference, but you can't do that easily with Google Sheets. The JavaScript I wrote to pop you to the first empty left cell also takes 15-20 seconds to take effect, even though the code is as efficient as it could be, and there are only a few dozen rows in one of our Sheets. Not sure why it takes so long. Oh well, though.

That's probably about it. I'm not using it for any complex accounting, so I can't speak to that.

Overall: Simplified workflow with keeping track of items we need to order--our entire sales team is able to edit the Sheet at once, which really helps.

Pros: Just a short story of how I started using Google Sheets... First, it was for my personal needs of tracking my roulette progress. There were some simple formulas (addition, multiply etc.), few conditional formatting styles (when it's red on a wheel, I wanted my cell with i.e. #23 to be filled in red etc.). Then I started making some sheets in my company for tracking progress of post-production of some media material (photos, videos etc.), changing statuses of publishing process of some listings and putting it all in some more advanced statistical data, and all of those required improving my Google Sheet skills. To sum it all up, again for the sake of statistical inquiries, I made another spreadsheet tracking all of our business (revenues for our services, salaries of our employees, daily/monthly/yearly statistics based on various criteria. All of these, made everyday work so much easier. And then...
I started optimizing those entire spreadsheets so they load and work faster as there were lots of formulas created in the process...
I learned a lot on Google Products Forum as people out there are really willing to help, and now even I started to answer to some of the questions to return for all the help I got.
Mobile application is also working really nice.

Cons: I couldn't think of any deal-breaking negative side of using this application. Team seems to really be adding new features on a regular basis, and the bugs are being squashed at equally timed manner :-)

Overall: Better productivity for daily tasks. Not having to manually calculate various (and long) inputs in our table.

Pros: This zero cost platform integrates relatively well to other spreadsheet programs such as the common excel. Perhaps the most important feature is its availability to multiple users anywhere with a web connection. A true benefit over An office storage drive is that you and your team have access to this anywhere from any device. Just like most of the other Google platform programs, it offers availability while you¿re in the office, on the plane, or anywhere you have internet. It offers the availability for multiple users to collaborate on a single project and access files that everyone might use. Most of the formulas will transfer from spreadsheet to spreadsheet program with little adjustment.

Cons: One frustrating feature or lack of feature with Google sheets is it¿s inability to formulate cells from different programs. You may work on a sheet and store it only to open it in excel on a different device and find that some of the advanced formulas didn¿t transfer or some of the columns don¿t match. This has only been a minor issue for our team and most have been simple to correct. It just requires you to double check it periodically.

Overall: Multiple members of the team input data into the sheet for their assigned task, as their different deadlines come. This has proven benificial to the entire team as real data is often updated and current. Our benifit has been not having to remote in to a server to add data when away from the office. You simply log into your google account.

Pros: Google Sheets is Google's version of Excel. There really isn't much of a learning curve if you are coming from Excel.

One complaint I hear most often is that Google Sheets isn't 'as powerful' as Excel (in regards to formulas, functions, etc.)

If you know where to look, and if you read the FAQs, you will find that Sheets is very powerful. You need to know where to look. It is very streamlined and uncluttered, which the average user will love. For 95% of the stuff I do in a spreadsheet, I DO NOT need super-advanced functions. (Come on, if you need really advanced stuff, you are already trained for it, or use a full-blown database.)

I like how simple and streamlined Sheets is, but it IS powerful, just like Excel!!

Cons: Unless you really try hard to seek out answers, it is NOT obvious how some of the higher-level functions work (especially if you're used to Excel).

However, to be fair, there is a good "Explore" button, which automatically spits out a whole bunch of information: Averages, comparisons, charts, graphs, etc. It's basically the Google search engine built into a spreadsheet.

The problem is, though, when you have a user who has used Microsoft Excel for 20 years, they will be resistant to anything that looks new. They'll probably call it a poor substitute for Excel, and claim it isn't powerful enough. So, your IT department will need to learn Sheets ahead of implementation, and make sure users know how powerful it is (many times, it's as simple as knowing which menu to use, when looking for a particular feature!)

Overall: Easier to use in 95% of the use cases (easier than Excel). Integrates with all other G Suite apps. Has pretty powerful data insights that automatically spit out some useful results, as long as you've entered in enough data.

Pros: Like GoogleDocs, the collaboration and ease of use is excellent. You can create a spreadsheet and have fairly advanced functionality that you can share amongst your colleagues with ease. The UI and ease of use is excellent and for many functions will handle the job quite well.

Cons: We found that we still need Microsoft excel because of the inability to do tables natively. While you can format a table in Sheets, it doesn't behave the same way an Excel table will behave where the rows auto expand as you continue to enter data. This means you cannot easily have columns that continue to compute formulas as you enter new data and so I find myself having to place the formulas way down at the bottom of the page to make this work. I've been hesitant to use add-ons in sheets because I don't know if everyone else that I collaborate with would need to install the same add-ons as well. For now, we use sheets where we can and have updated several excel documents into drive that we edit using excel.

Overall: Again, Sheets is really darn close to excel so we are able to use sheets, collaborate at an amazing level and we're spared the expensive licensing cost of excel. Of course in office365 the licensing costs are made far more reasonable but we still have licensed copies of excel that are not associated with Office 365. The functionality that we get from excel is available, vLookups, and formatting based on cell data.

Pros: * Ease of accessibility. All Google Sheets are automatically saved on Google Drive and can be shared with anyone and anytime. This eliminates the hassle of sending a file back and forth via email.
* All changes to the sheet are trackable. When the sheet is opened, you will always have the option to look at changes that were made by your coworkers. This makes it easy to track your group's progress.
* The "comments" option is very useful. You will always have the option to leave comments throughout the Sheet. This helps to keep everything organized because the comments are contained within the same platform as the sheet itself.
* Gmail pairing. You will have the option to pair your Google Sheet with your Gmail account. This enables notifications. For example, you can have an email sent to you anytime someone edits the Google Sheet, leaves a comment on the Sheet, resolves a comment, etc.

Cons: * Not as powerful as Excel. If you have every worked with Microsoft Excel, you will quickly realize that Google Sheets is no where as powerful as Excel. If you are looking to use complicated formulas or Macros, Excel is the better option for you. However, if you plan on keeping things simple or would just like a Sheet for organization, Google Sheets is a great option for you.
* Difficult to navigate. Again, if you have ever worked with Excel, you are probably very familiar with the command bar and all of the buttons. Google Sheets is not set up the same way as Excel, so it requires some getting used to. If you do purchase this software, plan on spending some time familiarizing yourself with the control panel and all of the buttons.

Overall: Google Sheets has been very helpful to me as a college student. I use it for group projects because it is shareable, easy to organize, and it has the option for leaving comments that your group members will see.
If I have more complex assignments that require some kind of spreadsheet, I will generally use Excel because I am very familiar with it and it allows me to use complicated formulas and Macros.

I don't know how people ever lived without spreadsheets, and Google Sheets is one of the best!

Pros: I love everything about this software. I use it every day both in my personal and professional life. It integrates with so many things online to keep track of data from a lot of business information. It is great for list making, for problem-solving, for complicated projects, for sharing information, for reporting, and so much more! I find it so much easier to get the bigger picture of anything involving numbers or lists if I put it in a spreadsheet. The fact that Sheets can compete on an almost side-by-side level with Microsoft Excel and costs nothing is mind-blowing. The fact that it is coupled with Google Drive, and has an app that is pretty decent considering what screen real estate you're working with, and can, therefore, be accessed anywhere, on any computer with an internet connection and that you can collaborate with others on it at the same time no matter where the two of you are is just spectacular. I just cannot say enough great things about this software.

Cons: It would be great if there was a built-in workflow/approval process/document status type system for the team collaboration. As well as a label and or file notes that could be viewed by hovering over or clicking on the file but not actually opening it.

Overall: Organization of all the chaos.

Pros: I have been using excel for a good portion of my life and Google sheets has been extremely helpful with collaboration. If you know Excel then Google sheets should come pretty naturally to you for all of the basic functions. It is a little more of a learning curve if you want to insert complex functions or more advanced options.
If you are collaborating among many people with a sheet this tool is extremely helpful. We use sheets to collaborate our schedules and use updates between the co-workers in my organization. We also use it to collaborate some of our inventory and pricing databases. You can have multiple people working in the same sheet at the same time. You can see the people making changes to it in real-time and even tells you the user making the change. You can use a chat function to communicate while you are doing this as well.
Google sheets is also very helpful when you are needing to use multiple different devices to access the sheets. I use my tablet, laptop, and phone to access and change the files. The Android app is easy to use and easy to learn. Anything made in excel can be pulled up in Google Sheets.
I would highly recommend using google sheets for collaboration between spread sheets!

Cons: Everything works well and as intended for the software, so it is hard to determine what I like least about it. I suppose if I could change anything than it would be a more intuitive advanced function selection. As stated previously it is easy to do the basic functions but if you want to do very complex ones, it tends to be a higher learning curce.

Pros: This app can do almost everything Excel can do, and then in some instances, it can even do more things. Where it is lacking, it picks up points for the extra tricks it can do. It links to Google Forms, and it can notify when a new response is received through add-ons. You can move tabs from one spreadsheet to another, or copy a sheet/tab and then send the copied tab to another spreadsheet. You can set permissions for collaboration so that some team members can view, some can edit, and even lock down sections or tabs. It's so flexible for collaboration that I only use Excel when a client needs something submitted in that format, and I usually turn it into a Google Sheet and then download it in Excel format to send it back to them. It's amazingly flexible.

Cons: Drawbacks? There are only a few. Keyboard shortcuts to mimic excel would be nice. The biggest problem I have is when converting files from Excel into Google Sheets. Sometimes the formatting doesn't carry over. It's also difficult to merge cells or re-design a complicated worksheet after the fact, but I've never encountered anything I couldn't get done, and I prefer it to any of its competitors.

Overall: We work collaboratively a lot, and we use a lot of the add ons. It's amazing.

Pros: If you've used Excel or an Open Source Software Spreadsheet (OpenOffice, etc.), then you can make use of Google Sheets. And it's all in the cloud, so you can access from anywhere with an internet connection, and share with collaborators. (And, yes, you can view changes and roll them back in case someone messes up.)

And, of course, if you are a more advance user for the headier stuff, then Excel is your hook-up there... but for 90%+ of people can be served by Google Sheets at minimal cost.

Cons: There really isn't much not to like, except the sort/filter feature could be more intuitive -- basically, if you want to only pull up a specific set of data, you have to "unselect" all of the options, type your criteria, and then check off the criteria that best matches what you were looking for. Sort/filters should also support wildcards.

Also, native printing support would go a long way -- when you hit print (and if you don't use Chrome browser), the "print" will generate a PDF that you then, actually, have to print. So... multiple steps to do a basic function when it really isn't necessary.

Overall: Great, solid basic spreadsheet software, with ability to edit anywhere (with an internet connection, of course), plus the ability to collaborate with multiple persons.

Pros: As a user of G Suite for our business including Drive, we use Docs and Sheets daily for all of our business document needs to keep our business organized. I've never been happy with Microsoft office products, so using Google's simple web-based offerings makes perfect sense. Multiple users can collaborate on the same Sheets document. Formulas, highlighting, charts -- everything that an Excel user expects and is accustomed to is also available with Google Sheets. Online help docs and add-ons allow for various complex formulas and operations to wrangle data and accomplish any reporting tasks that are needed. Google Sheets documents can be imported from CSV and Excel, and most importantly Sheets documents can be saved and exported in various file formats including .xls and .pdf for attachment and emailing to people outside of our company.

Cons: There are certain file size limitations since Sheets is web-based. Once you get into a large dataset or file size over a few megabytes, there are lag issues and of course file size and row limits that you might hit.

Overall: An excellent and affordable web-based spreadsheet application for small business needs. Simple to create, share, collaborate, import, and export.

Pros: - automatic backup, sync, simultaneous use
- excellent collaboration features
- easy to use
- lots of plugins, many of them are free
- very helpful online community

Cons: - limited formulas
- does not work with Gmail for mail-merge etc, like Excel does for Outlook (some plugins can do this, but it is clunky)
- if you have more than a couple hundred rows of data, the system can get very slow

Overall: I have been using Google Sheets for many years now and the product gets better every day. I work in a University and most of the time my spreadsheets have no more than 30 columns and 500 rows. For this size, the product functions very well. Like other products in the GSuite, Sheets is easy to search through, and integrates well with other Google products. This system is built for collaboration. There are also some nifty presentation tools that have been added to the product recently. I have also found great utility in connecting Google Forms to Google Sheets to manage enrollment in different programs. The space used by native sheets is not counted toward Google Drive space usage. The basic product is also free of charge. No ads in Google Sheets, but it may be linked to Google Ads.
Another random feature that I have used for fun (so far) is the ability to integrate live search data from Google, like stock prices, currency exchange rates, etc. This can be very helpful in a different context.

Pros: A significant advantage is that the tools and capabilities of the product are a clone of Microsoft Excel. This reduces the learning curve significantly, which is a huge plus when adopting a new software tool.

It is a fully functional spreadsheet system. I would rate my use of the product as "moderate", meaning that I do not need or try to use the most sophisticated functions or try to emulate the more sophisticated functions of Excel. But for moderate use, it can't be beat.

Cons: Sharing the documents with others. This seems counter-intuitive, at first, because Google and so many of its products were designed with sharing in mind. This is fine in an office environment where everyone uses (or is told to use) the same product. But I'm sharing the spreadsheets with other volunteers in a not-for-profit organization. Most of them use Microsoft Excel, and I can 't force them to use Google Sheets.

So, I have to go through this process in "sharing": After creating the spreadsheet, I save it as an MS Excel document. I email that document to others. I receive changes to the spreadsheet. I go into Google Sheets and open the document. This is the first opportunity I have to see the changes made.

MS Excel files have an extension of .xls (or .xlsx). You can associate this extension with a product other than MS Excel, so that when you double-click the file it will open in another product of your choice - provided it is an installed software product. Because Google Sheets (as well as Google Docs) is web-based, you cannot associate the file extension with the Google app, so you have to go through a cumbersome process when opening MS Excel files.

You're in Accounting...you need to work on numbers and formulas WITH a partner remotely...well, how about doing it in REAL-TIME...together? Working remotely with Sheets or Docs WITH another user at the same time, with changes saved...all in real time?!?! That is a game-changer for those who feel they have to email a spreadsheet multiple times and send multiple emails or texts, or make timely phone calls, to verify the information. Google Sheets is where it's at.

Cons: The only drawback I have found is the Desktop version, in that it has to communicate/verify/sync the account to open the Sheet or Doc. It is often faster to just log in online and go directly to your document or sheet and start working...even though the Desktop version if fully capable of syncing you information. It's just a time con for me.

Overall: Being able to Share a Sheet for Accounting purposes with another user, who can work on the same sheet simultaneously IN REAL TIME...this saves time, energy, texts, emails, phone calls...it makes this online "Office" environment a step up from any other platform.

Pros: Google Sheets is easy to 'program' and the documentation is excellent.

As a web developer, some tasks are just easier to create a script, database or website interface for. But Google Sheets has become the go-to app for more and more requirements, including both internal references and tools, and personal tools.

It's also great for document conversion (input from another format and output as several common and varied formats).

Using a Google Sheet to convert and format copy and pasted content is often much more successful than my favourite desktop spreadsheet apps.

Cons: Occasionally I will need to use a desktop app for importing certain files which Google Sheets had trouble opening, perhaps because of their size, or some other complexity or corruption.

Overall: Google Sheets has sped up our work on several repetitive or complicated tasks for which we were able to quickly and simply make a very useful tool, even quicker than if we coded one up ourselves as a script or database and web interface.

Permission controls for sharing and security of the Google account overall has made it attractive and simple for a wide variety of uses that have enabled work to be completed at a much more efficient rate.

Pros: I love Google Sheets to create spreadsheets for VIPKID. Being an online teacher, online spreadsheets are helpful for myself to keep organized. I also use other teacher's created sheets to help me do my job. VIPKID teachers can use Google Sheets in many ways. We can create spreadsheets for feedback for students. We can share notes and collaborate together using it. I also use it to keep my Manycam files together so if I need to re-download any images to use during teaching for my props. It is very useful! I am easily able to create and copy and paste from the google sheets onto my feedback for my online classes. It is easy to me to switch between the VIPKID program to google sheets to copy and paste the info my student needs to improve their English speaking.

Cons: It is hard to see some of the tabs at the top of the page at times. Maybe a bigger size font/consolidating tabs would be helpful.

Overall: I am easily able to create and copy and paste from the google sheets onto my feedback for my online classes. It is easy to me to switch between the VIPKID program to google sheets to copy and paste the info my student needs to improve their English speaking.

Pros: Quite often I was being asked to send and resend and resend the same spreadsheet with corrections, either to format, formula, etc. WIth Google Sheets, we can now collaborate and make the necessary changes on the fly and print/save in real time. I always create my document in Excel and save it to Google Sheets if I need to share it . The other great feature is that it's accessible from ANYWHERE! Even from your Smartphone! My stress level is back in the normal range again! I highly recommend you get your teams to use Google Docs! Another great advantage is that I can place larger documents that I would otherwise not be able to send via email, similar to Dropbox

Cons: Just as any online app of a program, Google Sheets has some minor limitation. You can update your spreadsheet in Excel Online, but you may not have all the functionalities as the full program. For my use, it works just fine. I created my document in regular Excel and then share it on Google Sheets.

Overall: I am so relieved to not have to send the same doc multiple times and that people can retrieve the docs when they want them and make changes on the fly.

Pros: Google Sheets have become a major part of the new age office system. Some of its pros are as follows
1. At a time, many of the users can edit it at the same time.
2. We can give different access permissions(view, edit and owner) to different users.
3. It can be shared easily across the organization.
4. It could be used as a database using with the Google Apps Script, Google Appmaker.
5. We could easily add macros and add ons with the product.
6. Most of the functionality which we use in excel could be implemented here.

Cons: As it is on cloud, it has some accessibility and scaling issues. Some of the issues are given below:
1. It has a cell limit of 2000000 cells.
2. It takes a lot of time to search when we use huge data.
3. It still has some gaps in VLookup and Hlookup.
4. It hangs sometime when we are trying to do operations on large scale.

Overall: I was able to do a lot of automations using this product using it as a database. Also, it helped me organize various data. I also helped in making it popular in various organization. For project management, asset management etc. It is a great project. But it still need some modifications.

Pros: The most attractive feature of Sheets are its portability and availability on all platforms. It is very handy to be able to develop a sheet on your desktop and have it available on your mobile device. This enables the user to create some powerful tools and have them easily accessible. Additionally, the compatibility in formulas between Sheets and MS Office is very helpful. An experienced Excel user can jump right into sheets without any issues. The contextual help for formulas is far better in Sheets than in other products. Additional formulas available in sheets add additional powerful functionality, such as the ability to automatically pull data from Google Finance (for stock prices and currency conversion). The ability to import from Excel makes the migration process easy

Cons: There are a number of quirks with Sheets that prevents it from being a potential candidate to replace the desktop software. First, it is often quite slow. Formulas often don't update as quickly as they should, which can create some confusing situations. Second, it strips macros on imported Excel files, so any macro functionality would need to be recreated for documents that require it. Third, the menu system is a bit unusual. I often have a hard time finding certain functions, and I've found that some features found in other tools are either hard to find in Sheets or don't exist at all.

Pros: Google Sheets has more than enough functionality in order to create great documents. Google Sheets has a range of functions that can be found in Excel, this makes the transition from Excel to Sheets very easy. While Sheets does not have the capability of Excel, the majority of users can complete all daily tasks whilst having the ability to quickly and easily collaborate. As stated previously, Google Sheets does not have the power of Excel but I have noticed in the past 18 months new features have been added which allows the product to almost match it's counterpart. Users can also open Excel formatted documents in Google Sheets by converting the file. Google Sheets, as many of the other Google products seamlessly integrates with other Google products, Google Forms being an example.

Cons: There is a limit on the number of cells which can be used in a single Google Sheet, at the time of writing this review. While the majority of users won't exceed this limit, there have been occasions where I have had to archive the data on a Google Sheet in order to restore functionality.

Overall: Google Sheets allows us to reduce the number of Microsoft Office subscriptions across the business

Pros: During my time at university Google Sheets was frequently used by my classmates and I. It allowed us to develop spreadsheet calculations, lists, notes, documentation etc. all from remote locations. The live update when editing is one of the most powerful features of this software allowing multiple users to edit and make changes to the same document at the same time. This feature is priceless when working in collobaration with multiple people in remote locations. The ability to access the files on different devices is a huge positive as well. Overall it is great when using spreadsheets for projects and assignments.

Cons: I thoroughly enjoyed using this software and do not have many cons to say about it. The only con that comes to mind is that when editing the same spreadsheet via multiple users is that sometimes the changes can be delayed and cause errors when editing.

Pros: Google sheets is amazingly versatile. I use it for everything from planning vacation budgets to modeling revenue projections in my business. I've even used it as a makeshift database for a very early stage SaaS I'm working on in my spare time. It allows you to connect cell data to the outside world, as opposed to just being limited to working with what's in your workbook, and is a super secure way to store sensitive data that needs to be shared amongst your team because every Google Sheet can be access-restricted based on email address of the user.

Cons: I discovered recently that each Google Sheet has a 200,000 cell limit. That sounds like a lot, but if you are working with a lot of data and don't want to use a dedicated database (rare, but happens sometimes), you'll need to figure out to restructure all your tables and data so that you fit everything you need to within the limit of the software.

Overall: Allows me to quickly and easily build everything from calculators to SaaS prototypes without needing to rely on any external database tools.

Pros: With Google Sheets, I can access all of my sheets if I have access to wifi or on my phone. It has all of the basic features I need to do basic statistical analysis or to keep track of data. With extensions, Sheets allows me to easily take the data from Google Forms and transfer it into a Google Doc template which saves a lot of time. I also enjoy that I can share the files out directly instead of uploading them and having to have others download a file.

Cons: For heavy statistical analysis, another program may be needed.

Overall: I use Google Sheets for many different personal and work related activities. For work, I use Sheets to keep track of reading data for four buildings along with my caseload. It easily allows me to share the information with teachers and principals. I mostly use it as a step between Google Forms and Google Docs. With extensions, Sheets can automatically put the data I collect into a Doc template and can automatically be shared to key people. I also use it for coaching to keep track of attendance, fees, skills, etc. Lastly, it's easy to use and access for personal reasons such as budget, recipes, etc.

Pros: The one thing I like about Google Sheets is the ability to collaborate with others on the same document. The possibility of working on the same document with my colleagues gives me it very convenient for us and most of all, we are able to work faster through everyone's contribution to a task. This is coupled by the fact that Google Sheets are essentially stored in Google Drive which means you get double advantage: Cloud Storage of files and ability to seamlessly collaborate on the same document.

Cons: For me, what I don't like about Google Sheets is that it has limited features as compared to the Desktop Version of Excel. Also, I find that I work slower when using Google Sheets as compared to when am using the Desktop version of Excel.
Another challenge is the fact that I have to have an internet connection in order to work with Google Sheets since the application is in the cloud. Lack of an internet connection means you can't access the service.

Overall: I love Google Sheets. Best collaboration option for spreadsheets!

Pros: It is great that you can use it everywhere and that you can also use it offline. It will update your sheets once you come back online. It's got easy to use menus where you can find what you need and you can copy and paste formulas throughout the whole sheet, if necessary. It's great that you can make a sticky line, like you can do in Excel, even on your phone. Everything you type is updated to your Google Docs account straight away and is accessible everywhere you go.

Cons: What I dislike is that you can't use all the features that are available in Excel. For example, a lot of things aren't automated in Sheets and you can't let it fill in today's date automatically. There are also some advanced features that not many people will use but are still useful that Sheets still doesn't have, like for example analyzing statistics. There are also a lot of formulas that Google Sheets doesn't have that are available in Excel.

Another thing I don't like is that you can't use some features on mobile that you can use on a PC, like colour coding fields automatically.

Overall: I can use this software on the go. I absolutely love that it is anywhere and everywhere and that it saves automatically.

Pros: I love that I can use Google sheets to crunch numbers and create data sets that my team can access and collaborate on anytime, anywhere in the world. Google's answer to excel provides all the functionality of a spreadsheet for its users, in the cloud. With cross-sheet functionality, a wide-spread of functions enabling users to create a wide variety of formulas that allows its users to collaborate and create unique data sets for any purpose they need. Google sheets also hosts a great community of people in the forums that use the software and helps users create sheets that perform as they desire.

Cons: Google Product support is limited to community forums unless you are an administrator. The community forums are very helpful and will help you accomplish whatever task you need but you won't get one-on-one support as you might with other products.

Overall: Online collaboration, mobile access, and an unbelievable community of users to help crunch data, create dashboards and analyze data in a functional tool that makes work easier.

Pros: *Google Sheets allows data to be shared real-time without emailing a file back and forth.
*Two people can be working on the same spreadsheet at the same time. Awesome!
*Works very similar to popular spreadsheet software, and is intuitive to use. The main difference I have encountered is it is in the cloud.
*Google sheets had a forms feature that creates questions in a nice online form and dumps the data into a spreadsheet for further editing and review.

Cons: *People who are not familiar with Google Sheets have a hard time figuring out the file-sharing part of it. It isn't super intuitive and an untrained person may accidentally make sensitive data public. People need to understand this functionality first.
*I haven't figure out how to easily print and or use a Google Sheet to mail merge from the cloud without downloading it first. It may be a feature, but I am more comfortable with those functions when the file is actually on my computer.
*Some of the formula features function differently than what I am used to on my desktop, which creates a little learning curve and more clicks.
*If you have bad internet, then it doesn't work well.

Overall: Allows team members and clients to be able to share information and work on the same spreadsheet remotely without confusing efforts of sending files back and forth.

Allows us to set up an online Form and gather data into a single spreadsheet.

Cons: There isn't a lot to dislike about, however some advanced features are lacking and it is harder to format than offline tools maybe because of using these other tools for so many years but I know Google will catch up soon. And unfortunately Google Sheets does have a limit on the amount of cells per document which takes some work around. But we have never utilized all the cells in other spreadsheets anyways.

Overall: What I like is that Google Sheets is easy to use and the interface is also nice. Along with that the performance is smooth, the integration with other tools from Google including easy sharing, the compatibility with different devices, being able to import spreadsheet files from other software like Microsoft Excel, efficient printing options and the availability of templates for a quick start and being able to edit it in groups online. Just to name a few of the features available. Although it does not have all the feature of an offline (expensive) spreadsheet it works pretty well with what I want. I would definitely recommend this spreadsheet to other looking at a free tool that can be used within a single or a team setting.

Pros: Google sheets has so many tools, functions, and options that you can make your tables/charts/data as complicated as you want to. Need to work with lots of complex formulas or recycling spreadsheets? No problem. Maybe you're having trouble trying to figure out what formula to use? The Help section has a lot of good information. I also really like the fact that you can go back at the history of edits that were made so that if you do make a mistake or want to develop a different type of chart, all is not lost.

Cons: It turns out that it is possible to make a change on a sheet that you are not currently viewing - found that out the hard way! i.e. I had selected a cell on a sheet, then went to a different sheet to look something up, thought I selected a cell on the page I was viewing - didn't actually - then started typing on a page somewhere else. Yikes! This is of course my fault, but I wish you weren't able to type/edit unless you are viewing

Pros: Google Sheets is a great free spreadsheet software that autosaves as you use it, so you'll never lose your data! It has basic functionality that you get with Excel and it's a bit more intuitive. You can create formulas to calculate numbers and also text information. I use it for a number of business purposes, including account database, tracking sales and revenue over time, and totaling inventory. Since it's cloud-based, you can easy share documents with others over email and edit the document in real time. You can also download and print in various formats (PDF, CSV, etc).

Cons: My documents always take a little while to load--not too long, but noticeable. I use sheets with Google Forms and I've had issues with adding data to the sheet manually and not syncing with the new data chronologically.

Overall: It's such an easy program to use and the best part is it's free! I recently got a new computer and don't want to purchase Excel, so sheets has totally replaced it for me.

Pros: No one can compare with features which google provides. I'm simply love this google sheets tool/platform which google provide us.

Very very easy.
Versioning control is best.
Collaborative functionality
No need to save data exclusively - auto save feature
Multiple people can edit single sheer at one time.
Color notation while using sheets.
Too good templated like to-do list, daily expense, monthly, weekly and daily calendar
could based solution and many more thing

Overall I'm very happy with this product. MUST USE!!

Cons: Frankly speaking there is no single thing which I think for cons. however in some features like VBA and PowerPivot excel is still faster than Sheets.

Sheets still has script and plugins but these things needs to operate manually.

Overall: Online solution one for all - all for one. We are using sheets and can work simultaneously on many things with multiple people. sheets has changed view of online work drastically.

Pros: Most people already have a Gmail account for personal or business purposes, and Sheets continues to allow Google users to create spreadsheets almost to the same level of it's Microsoft counterpart. With the ablity for two or more users to go in live and view and edit in real time it elminates any comfustion of who is working on the most up-to-date version of the spreadsheet. Add in that the document is always auto-saving there is no longer a worry that a report will crash killing that last hours worth of edits and updates that were made.

Cons: While for most users Google Sheets will be more than enough when compared side-by-side to Microsoft's Excel. More experienced users may find tasks like vLookup, Pivot Tables or linking tables more complex they are used to. There may be a bit of a learning curve to find where all the shortcuts are hidden or to visually make their Google Sheet look like their its Excel doc counterpart.

Pros: I use google sheets for everything tabular data related. I love how you can import and export any data file type, so you can easily use Microsoft Excel files and CSVs in Google Sheets. You can also easily generate the charts and graphs and add pages just like you can in Excel.

The app is also great. The way they designed it makes it more usable than I assumed a spreadsheet would be on a mobile phone. It involves horizontal scrolling, but for the most part it's still pretty decent.

Because Google Sheets is cloud based, you can access your files from any of your devices as long as you have an internet connection. I've done my major data input sessions on the desktop, looked numbers up on my mobile, and worked on the go with my tablet pretty seamlessly.

I've switched my small business accounting over to Google Sheets, and it's totally free to use. My day job at a large multinational corporation also uses Google Sheets as their main spreadsheet application, and they pay for a corporate Google account. So, it's great for businesses of any size!

Cons: The only thing that's kind of a bummer is that you need to have an internet connection for it to work. My wifi has dropped out occasionally and I'm unable to work when that happens.

Pros: I use Microsoft Excel at work, but use Google Sheets for home uses, including our family budget and the budget for the baseball team for which I serve as team mom. I have some pretty sophisticated formulas and linkages built into my Google Sheets documents and it functions extremely well. I love the ease of collaborating with other users on the Google suite of products...this functionality works so much better than with Microsoft products. I also like the ease of sharing documents from my computer or phone.

Cons: Google Sheets is powerful, but it does not have 100% of the functionality that Excel does. However, for the difference in price, I'm definitely willing to use it. The biggest thing that I probably miss is the ability to link cells from different spreadsheets.

Overall: I love a good spreadsheet with sophisticated formulas and Google Sheets can handle pretty much anything I want to do for my personal uses!

Pros: Google Sheets is essentially a simple to use version of Microsoft Excel. It has way less features, but the features that Google has included are really the only ones that you need. The interface is crisp and elegant. One of the best features is that you can grab a whole column or row and slide it up or down to put it in a different place. Sorting data is a breeze: say you have a list of data that you want to sort first by date then by name, etc. You just select the data by clicking and dragging to highlight, then click data, sort and tell Sheets what you want to do; it's so simple. Sheets also automatically saves your work as you type, so you don't have to remember to save while you work or at the end.

Cons: One of the things that is a bit odd is that there is not a list of formulas/functions to use when you type an "=" sign. This means that if I want to get the sum of a column, I have to type the word "sum" after the equal sign to get a list of functions to appear. If I don't know the name of the function I want, there is no readily available list to pick from.

Overall: I use Google Sheets to keep track of any kind of data that I need to sort, from to-do lists to customer lists, to transaction lists.

Pros: My favorite thing about Google Sheets is the ability to share the file and allow others to contribute. In my personal life it makes planning family events a smooth process & in my professional life it allows me to work projects simultaneously with remote employees!

Cons: I would love the ability to give somebody temporary access for updates only and then automatically change their rights to viewing only. Reason being is I have ran into experiences where I need somebody to contribute one item, but they continue to sort the data or contribute after which is difficult. It would also be great to restrict access to certain columns or portion of the data and keep others and view rights only.

Overall: It has helped in everything from planning guest lists for weddings to contributions client billing cycles. I have intentionally set up family members on Google so they have access to Google Sheets to plan family vacations from across the country. A must have!

Pros: * Easy to use, with excellent support, documentation and online help.
*Excellent dynamic graphics in real time.
* you only need a browser and internet connection, it does not require licenses or additional programs.
* allows collaborative work.
* you do not need to worry about storage because it is in the cloud, the files can be compiled, created and edited from a PC, a tablet or any mobile device.
*It is free and compatible with the file extensions of most of the most used office applications

Cons: * unfortunately it does not allow the offline edition of the files and then update itself when having connection, since it is an application as a service in the cloud

Overall: it has allowed me to save a lot of administrative time to be able to work in a group the files. In addition to the ease of being able to update the information from mobile devices while traveling or away from the office. It is an excellent work and study tool

Pros: I love being able to just have a wifi connection and have access to all my documents and spreadsheets. The other nice feature is it's so easy to share them and so many choices either via email or by downloading them and printing them out. The other nice feature is when you select to download (aka export) it gives you the option of either a PDF, rich text doc, word doc. So it has you covered.

Cons: You need to make sure you have a strong internet connection due to the amount of data it pulls over and a computer which has a lot of RAM. It seems on computers I have used it on which have only 8GB of RAM it take's it longer to load the screens than one which has 16GB. On the documents side, it would be nice if you could make the PDF fillable, so you could fill them out right on Google docs and then be able to print out the fillable form.

Overall: It makes getting access to my documents easy and I don't have to worry about forgetting them on another computer or a flash drive I left somewhere. If I have to get a document to someone all I have to do is have a WiFi connection and I am good to go.

Pros: Google Sheets is a good alternative to Excel, when you have to create quick spreadsheets on the fly. While somewhat basic if you have in-depth spreadsheet data needs, I'd say most things that the average user does in Excel can be accomplished with Google Sheets. And there a plenty of Google Chrome add-ons that expand the functionality.

When I'm traveling or out on my Chromebook, it's my go to spreadsheet tool.

Cons: While Google Sheets has improved its chart features, if you're an advanced or hard core spreadsheet user, you'll likely want to stick with Excel's macros and Pivot Tables.

If you're uploading an Excel spreadsheet into Google Sheets, proceed with caution and keep a backup of your original Excel file tucked away somewhere. Macros can go loopy on transfer from one platform to the other, and other functions don't always play nicely in both spaces.

Pros: This is a non pretentious tool. But this does not mean that can not have a huge impact in your life and business. The simpler, the better. I personally noticed a huge change on my business when I started to use if to measure each month how we where doing with some basic KPIs. I was very disapointed to not be able to find a non expensive tool to make simple graphics and basic projections of costs expenses for my new start up. I tryed one that closed. So I started to work with "google sheets", it did a fantastic work and allowed to grow the team. And gave a solid base to growth.

Cons: I find that it is a bit too generic and basic. There are few columns by default. i would love more engaging and impressive looking graphics. Anycas, I understand that simplicity and freedom to make and change everything fast, is a strengh for this tool.

Overall: After doing start up business for some years, I noticed that the thing I tracked and reviewed the evolution each month for some hours became the more success parts of the business. Even when they were side activities, when I make the review, I became engaged to the data and made it be right. But I also use for many other things as content calendar, remember some info, etc. Best of all, it is free and reliable.

Pros: I love the ease of use and that it has most (if not all) of the features that are offered in Excel. We use Google Sheets for all of our shared documents because it is easy to work collaboratively at the same time as opposed to opening "read-only" Excel documents. We manage events for several of our clients and this is the best software to keep lists of sponsors, runners, etc. Everyone has access and we can update in real time which is important when we are all making phone calls. Having the Google Sheets app on my phone is also extremely helpful since I can edit on the go!

Cons: Sometimes the shortcuts are different than those in Excel, which is occasionally confusing when switching back and forth between the two. I think there is a way to change this, but I have not yet done so.

Overall: It allows myself and my team to work collaboratively on tasks- at the same time!

Pros: Among the positive elements that I find in Google Sheets for my company are:

-Management of the simultaneous spreadsheet. Sometimes we have to manipulate a database between several people, and this software is great for doing this.

-It has an internal chat that allows to expose points of view, synchronize actions and add necessary data to fill the administrative database.

- Extract information from the network and attach it to our documents, converting it into a link in the same document. Very useful for fiscal tax references

Cons: One of the negative elements is that, in relation to other databases, the tools necessary to analyze variables such as tables, dynamic tables and graphs are not so complete, having to resort necessarily to other software to complete the task in the office

Overall: Google sheets is an integrative solution that complements the potential of a spreadsheet with the particularities of cloud storage, allowing documents to be modified in real time and simultaneously, a powerful function that enhances any work environment.

Pros: I can sign into docs on any computer, thereby ensuring that I can access my lesson plans anywhere. Most school systems in my area have Google Drive accounts, and it's simple to share the lesson plans with all of my accounts so they're always with me. I also write scripts in docs so my creative team constantly has access to the most recent update.

Cons: Safari does not allow you to print from Google Docs. Instead you ahve to download a PDF each time you wish to print. Docs itself is very simple if you're used to Microsoft Word - too simple, some might think. Add-ons provide more options, but it can take a lot of time to research and find one that does the job you need. Docs should take the best parts of the most popular add-ons and incorporate them directly into Docs.

Overall: I love the ability to work in a team on the same document, and always have my documents with me.

Pros: We have been using this since last 8 years if not more. The best thing about this is the capability of being able to share among the group of people easily.
Say good bye to many versions of an excel sheet in your own laptop and merging of data from various people into one sheet.
The new google forms sync makes it a no brainer to try to mend every process of yours as per the sheets.

Cons: Not being able to use the sheets data as a data base is a very big con. Internet is flooded with a request for the same.
Alot of times the application of sheets get limited due to that.
Another ask would be able to group a couple of rows and minimise them on the basis of header.

Overall: The whole team can easily collaborate on a project, idea, documentation, all at once. The only problem is sometimes its a bit difficult to control the revision of a few data cells but that can be managed by locking a few rows etc.

Pros: It's in the cloud! I never have to worry about accessing my spreadsheets if I am not at home or work or wherever. It automatically saves after every change which is great in case the power flickers or computer goes bonkers. I also love to utilize the fact that I can embed charts and pull data from Google Sheets directly in my websites. This makes it really easy for someone from the office with no web development experience to be able to make updates to company web apps.

Cons: There is a file size limit which is so much smaller than Microsoft Excel. It also seems to have much less features than Excel in the menu, although I have been able to use the script editor to overcome some of these shortcomings (and probably all, but it is time too consuming). So whenever I am working with large files or completing more complicated tasks I use Excel.

Pros: The ability to link a lot of people into viewing and editing the task listed on the software is quite commendable.
The friendliness of the software cannot be over emphasized, as the software can be used on mobile devices and then stop there and continue using it on your laptop without having to worry about saving the document is a major plus.
Also, the mathematical inclusion in the software is another good point, as it helps makes what you are doing easier and faster.
Also, the ability to limit a user's privilege on the things he can do is also really nice.

Cons: Well, aside the fact that the mathematics involved when using the software can be too much, hence making you confused and deciding to just calculate outside the software and input the values directly into the app rather than using the mathematics feature in the app.

Pros: Everything is in the cloud. You don't have to worry about losing your data. It's super easy to share your sheets and have people collaborate. I personally use it to collaborate on large projects with 20-30 people involved. Although Google Sheet plays at being low key, it's actually really powerful with a plethora of benefits over its competition.

Cons: Everything is in the Cloud. There is no easy way to get around this - no internet, no sheets. There is an offline mode as well but doesn't work that well. The user interface is a little clunky and the app could do with more functionality. Google sheets misses some of the functionality that are pretty mainstream on other Spreadsheet software.

Overall: Google sheets have a lot of advanced formulae that allow you to integrate different sheets you own. When it comes to sharing and cross-compatibility Google single-handedly wipes out the competition.

Pros: I truly loved Google Sheets up until today actually. Their ease of use and auto save was great for a not so tech-savvy individual like me.

Cons: Today, Google Sheets encountered an "error" that will not allow me to access the most important spreadsheet I have for work. I proceeded to contact Google support and interacted with one of the rudest customer service reps EVER - extremely unhelpful and blatantly condescending to me. I was hoping there would be a survey to fill out about him, but I was not sent anything so this will have to suffice... if anyone from Google is reading this.

So now I have lost a spreadsheet I have put over 300 hours of work into AND was met with no support from Google. TERRIBLE. I trusted Google Sheets and all Google products to keep my documents safe and I will not make that mistake again. Shame on you Google.

Pros: The ability to share and edit spreadsheets across and entire organization has us using sheets in ways we would have never thought possible 3 years ago. We use it as a solution for inventory transfers, product weight calculations, product cost, and even general form creation. The potential seems limitless and everytime we are trying to tackle a new paperwork issue, it seems like sheets always comes to the rescue.

Cons: While it is a great to replace excel as a way to have collaborative spreadsheets, its also missing many features that would bring it on parity with excel. Our business has some pretty complicated excel spreadsheets that make use of visual basic that simply cannot be converted over to sheets.

Overall: The benefits we have received from this software is almost too many to list. I would say if you are looking for ways to collaborate with excel or forms, sheets is #1

Pros: Like any software product from Google, Google Sheets has a lot of advantages over its competitors. For example, it is very simple and easy to use (all functions and interface are extremely clear and simple), it allows you to open existing Excel files at my disposal. I use this application almost every day and see how quickly developers implement new functions and improve existing ones.

Cons: One of the advantages of Google Sheets is its disadvantage. I mean storage of data in the cloud, that is, on third-party servers. Of course, if I only conducted personal records, nothing terrible would happen if someone stole them. But with the data of customers it is more difficult - with each of our customers we sign a confidentiality agreement, but it turns out that by storing information on Google servers, we can not guarantee its security.

Pros: We can merge it with any Google product to collaborate our data.
We can have a Google script personalised for perticular Google sheet.
The Google sheet provides version controlling so that we can retrieve any of the version in future if any issue/incidence happened.
The Google sheets are stored on cloud so we can get the data any time anywhere with internet connection.
Many automations and functions are provided to make it functional.

Cons: The cloud comes with all necessity of the internet connection 24*7.
We can't access anything if internet is not there.
If we compare it with other data management and analysis data-sheets, the functions provided are really very less.
If you are a nontechnical person, it's difficult to use and really very hard to add so.e functionalities.

Overall: Automations that I want with the help of Google script.

Pros: This is free software. There is no charge for it. No expensive licenses and paid upgrades. You just need a Google account (so maybe you are paying with your information).

This program easily handles the major spreadsheet extensions and can easily export into different types. It provides a robust battery of functions and tools to be able to manipulate and see the data you enter in. You can even create charts, multiple pages, and complex documents by layering functions.

All of your sheets are also stored on Drive, which makes it easy to access them from anywhere. You don't need to install any software (except on mobile devices) to be able to access your files.

Cons: You are stuck with the same default font options as the rest of Google's document suite. If you're making spreadsheets, this probably isn't a big issue to you.

The sort columns feature doesn't always work as expected. If you sort a column of numbers 1-20, it will sort correctly, but trying to sort a column with the words "chapter 1", "chapter 2", "chapter 3" ... "chapter 20", Google can't figure out the correct order for some reason. This should be an obvious bug that they would fix.

Pros: It's pretty powerful for a free spreadsheet program. For daily office work, it's absolutely the most useful. Everything from organizing rows/columns, making pivot tables and charts, and also crazy formulas. Microsoft Excel is bloated and confusing in comparison.

There's one add-on that I absolutely love, that allows me to use my spreadsheet to email multiple people a custom email.

Cons: There are things I can do very quickly in Microsoft Excel that Google Sheets struggles with. BUT -- there's things I can do in Google Sheets that takes 3-4x as long in Microsoft Excel. Unfortunately, I do have to bounce between the two programs for my use case.

But most people aren't organizing big data like I am.

Overall: Collaboration. We don't have to create multiple versions of a spreadsheet... we can just share 1 link and everyone on the team can edit it.

Pros: Everything completely! It is such a complete editor that you can create quality professional documents. The best thing is that you need a Google account to be able to enjoy software that will allow you to create and modify spreadsheet files, to these you can insert graphics, forms, images from your photo gallery, Google Drive, Google Photos, an image URL, etc. . It is so versatile and easy to use that you will not want to change it. It also contains a wide variety of font types for text, voice dictation, option to print and download your documents in different format, including PDF and xlsx (Microsoft Office Spreadsheets). You can publish your document so that everyone can see it on the Web or share specific users with different permissions.
It contains many formulas to create complete and dynamic calculation sheets, formations of dates and numbers, coins, etc.

Cons: You should consider that your documents could be seen by uninvited people if you badly give permission or if someone discovers your password you can access them. However, you can detect it by reviewing the history of changes and visualization of your document.

Pros: I use this primarily to share spreadsheets with peers who need to do editing at the same time. With this, I am able to make changes in real time while not having to worry about conflicting changes/conflicting copies of the document (which has been a problem in the past when my co-worker and I both have a spreadsheet open and dropbox will create a second "conflicted copy" instead of combining our changes). So many things you can do in here that you can do in Excel, ie sort by A-Z and also things you can do with Google Add-Ons (once you download them), ie finding and removing duplicates quickly. You can also download to open it as an Excel sheet, and vice versa.

Cons: Overall, Google Sheets is very easy to use and a great tool for any business, small or large. I have no issues with it.

Pros: It is very versatile, data processing capacity, large number of formulas that facilitate the execution of different processes. You can make large-scale calculation sheets, efficiently work dynamic tables and excellent to perform statistical data presentation through graphs

Cons: It is not 100% integrable or compatible with the formulas that use other software of the same type, this means that sometimes the cell formulation must be done again causing a rework when migrating to other software or sharing the information with people who Do not use this same tool.

Overall: Excellent, since it allows me to create tables of large amounts of data. Its processing speed is very high and its versatility when making formulas is very high. Its interface is friendly and very intuitive, similar to other similar products on the market. It has as a plus the power to share the file directly from the cloud without having to send it by mail, only giving authorization to the desired user.

Pros: Google sheets does an amazing job at provided key features of a spreadsheet program to teams in a natively collaborative environment. The built-in chat window AND the ability to live edit the same sheet is incredibly helpful for teams located in different offices.
The add-ons features bring a unique edge to sheets. If someone in the community has the desire to design a feature/plug-in that they think is useful, the add-on store makes it super easy to share with other users.

Cons: There are some advanced features of spreadsheets that are missing, limited, or only available through 3rd party add-ons. The benefit is that often someone else has already built what you're looking for. The downside is that sometimes you have to pay an additional fee for the features you might be looking for.

Pros: The best part is that it is cloud based and has a workable API. I can create easy databases with equations, then share it with my team without having to set up a server or access. Simple click and share and permissions all built in to the software. FREE.

Cons: I think the limit is something like 200,000 cells - but in 10 years of using it, I have only run into that being an actual problem once. Also, if you export to .xls it exports all the tabs - but these are so minuscule they don't even count, I just needed to fill the con space with SOMETHING.

Overall: I can create databases with ease and send information where it needs to go using the API. We can track anything and with formulas built in, if you know Excel there is practically no learning curve. They did a great job at bridging the gap, making it free, and cloud based. I can create something even on my cell phone.

Pros: Google sheets is easy to use, its is very easy to transfer Excel knowledge but when using a new feature it is so much more intuitive. I love that it is instantly available (I don't have to wait for excel to load) and we can share and colloborate across the organization. As Chief Operating Officer, I use Google Sheets for just about everything I do.

Cons: The biggest pain is when I am using a Google Sheet with Text and need a line return. I have to use Control+Enter. It is also hard to format text in cells. I have not printed as much from Google Sheets as I have from Excel, but I think the print formatting isnt as good (but I rarely need to print now that we can share docs)

Overall: The benefits of easily sharing hundreds of spreadsheets is tremendous. The ease of use of Google Sheets has made this a tool we can't live without.

Pros: Usually with spreadsheets, we often need to collaborate as a team. Google Sheets lets us have functionality similar to Excel but in the shareable Google Drive format. Allows math functions, formatting of cells, and even example templates (ex monthly budget) you can use and customize for yourself.

Cons: To make documents available online is something you have to think of ahead of time and set up. (And in Google Apps, it's a little less straightforward than with a free Gmail account). So if you're going to be stuck without Wifi, think of which docs (and on what computer/device) you want to access them so you can make sure they are available. And while I haven't explored this entirely, it seems like there is less chart/output options than Excel.

Pros: My favorite function in google sheets is being able to sort the columns. I also love being able to "share" with other users. I like to be able to make it a "view only" so that another person can't mess it up...LOL but also at times like to allow editing. Can also chat on the screen with others when shared with them. I love that I can make a change and that change is automatically saved for all that I have shared it with and I do not have to send it over again.

Cons: This is both a pro and a con for me depending on what the needs are. But at times not being able to share a sheet with someone because they cannot open it unless I give them access. I can't always allow access and during these times I have to copy and paste into another sheet program to send to my clients.

Pros: I love that it loads faster than Excel and is available everywhere because the files live in the cloud. It does absolutely everything that I need. I found Excel to always be cumbersome and complicated for daily use. If you need to follow a course to use a product, it probably is a bad product. Sheets gets shaped by the community and you can see it when you search Google for an issue that you cannot seem to solve. Either the community already posted about it or there is no solution yet but there are plenty of tickets raised so the feature is in the pipeline. Absolutely love it.

Cons: Of course there is a lot of work being done, but some design features have not been implemented for a long time. When you run into such issues.

Overall: Available everywhere, no fuss, intuitive design.

Pros: I like that Google Sheets can do calculator functions for you because sometimes it'll be more convenient to have them ready on your computer rather than lugging a graphing calculator around. I also like how much easier it is to organize things in columns or rows, since for project management we have some volunteer sign-up sheets and it makes it helpful that we can do this with sheets since it's so easy to read.

Cons: Not sure that there is anything that I really dislike about the software except the way that images are imported. It can be hard to move them around but most of the time when I use this software I don't need to import any images so for the most part it's fine.

Overall: I was able to use this all year long in my Advanced Statistics class and was also able to convert data to graphs really easily.

Pros: Portability, being able to access any given file from my laptop, iPad or iPhone at any given time is the best, not being limited by a file on a physical drive, that is actually the main reason I've used Google Sheets for more than 5 years now.

Lately they have included some powerful features such as dynamic tables opening the possibilities to handle a lot of more tasks than ever.

The latest mobile versions have improved dramatically, making it even easier to access and edit formatting and more features.

Cons: It is kinda tricky to get the files to work offline, for when traveling and internet access being a little restricted in some roads. Other than that it's a fantastic and even a game changer for my workflow

Overall: Easy access to all my key reports and files on the go.

Pros: - Google Sheets allow me to collaborate with my teammates when working on a table or data without having to create conflicting copies of the same file (as it happens with Dropbox sometimes)
- I enjoy the fact that Google Sheets give almost as much functionality as the Microsoft's Excel
- Personally, I like the design of Google Sheets more than Excel

Cons: - if you are switching from Excel to Google Sheets, sometimes the learning curve might be steep (depending on the functionality you're looking for)
- not all the functions are available in Google Sheets compared to Excel (but I personally haven't found that distracting or demotivating... Possibly because I don't need complex macros or something)

Overall: Great for data analytics and custom filtering, so we use it often for all kinds of data.

Pros: - I just love how easy it is to share and collaborate on a document with multiple people, without having to constantly save and email the file back-and-forth
- Automatic saving of the document is great, as is the fact that you can access it anywhere from Google Drive
- The documentation is very good and it allows you to look up functions very easily
- Exports well to other file formats without corruption of the file

Cons: - Having used excel a lot in the past, find that this software doesn't contain quite as many functions, but considering that it is free and hosted online this seems reasonable.
- Visually it feels too much like it's trying to look like excel - would be nice if it had more of a unique feel

Overall: Collaborating with others on spreadsheets has never been easier!

Pros: -Easy to use
-Can open existing .xls spreadsheets
-Automatic saves
-Cloud storage, so data can never be lost, or no need to worry about thumbdrives
-"Share" button allows easy sharing with other team members
-New features added often, and no need to update software. Browser access means the latest edition software is always being used.
-No need to create a special google account. Only a gmail account is required.

Cons: -Not as powerful as Microsoft Excel, but highly functional
-If it's a big spreadsheet and wifi is a little slow, it may be slow to update
-When using "share" button, always call your teammates and confirm they received the request. Some email systems block google requests.
-Must have a Google/gmail account to access Google Sheets

Overall: Never worry about losing data again, Google Sheets is cloud storage and saves automatically. The "Share" function provides accountability to team members. They can no longer say they "lost" that email with the attachment, or complain of a corrupt file. Google Sheets is just as easy to use as Excel, and does not require the license fee and maintenance. Updates are real time, so last minute changes can be added, even after the "Share" button is used.

Google sheet is very comfortable, reliable and easy to use tool.

Pros: All google docs are cloud based which makes it accessible from anywhere anytime when you have a internet connection even from your moile through Google doc mobile app. It allows me manage sharing permission, let other comments, suggest or write directly on the doc in real time. any number of person can work together on same document same time updating it for each other. With just browser we can access fully featured, more then capable cloud based application. Its top feature for me includes ease of sharing, auto savings the changes and google search and linking.

Cons: you must require a Google account to use this, if you use google platform across you work then I do not think of any major cons infact it will be a advantageous for user in that case.

Pros: Opening a file in Google Sheets is almost like opening a file within Excel itself without having MS Office installed. It has many of the most important features from Excel, it has various formatting, conditional formatting, Workbook tabs, formulas, trend charts, etc. Even most of Excel's keyboard shortcuts also work in Google Sheets! I use it almost daily to manage files that I need access to anywhere I go. It is so portable and works with different operating systems and browsers, and even on my mobile devices!

Cons: It is obviously not Excel, so many of the really advanced features of Excel that you could find in Excel's Data, Page Layout, Insert, and Developer tabs aren't on Google Sheets, but those I would consider less commonly used anyway.

Pros: While I was a quick adopter of Google Docs, Google Sheets took me a little more time to warm up to.

I like Excel, but the ease of accessing my Sheets documents from anywhere is a major bonus of this software.

I now use Sheets to manage client social media calendars, projects, and have even begun using it for budgeting and income tracking. I think this is a flexible tool that is easy to use and navigate.

Overall, I prefer using Sheets over Excel and will gradually make the shift to using primarily Sheets-based files.

Cons: Sometimes the features of the product are limited on their own and require a plugin to do some of the heavy-lifting.

Overall: -Easy access to files on-the-go from multiple devices
-Flexible use within my business
-Easy-to-navigate user interface

Pros: This software is similar to Office Excel, with the difference that everything is online and the information is automatically saved. Everything you do in the program will be saved in your Gmail account and you will have access to the information through Google Drive. The saved information can be downloaded and used in Excel format. A spreadsheet can be modified online by several people, even if they are in different countries. It is a valuable tool for those of us who like numbers.

Cons: If you do not have access to the internet, you will not be able to modify the information. If you lose your account password and you can not enter it, you can never have access to your work

Overall: I can organize my information in a better way and I can keep track of my personal expenses

Pros: I love using Google Sheets for my ESL kindergarten lesson plan format. It is easy to resize the boxes and easy to manage when wanting to add and delete columns or rows.
This is very comparable to Excel, but better. I love using Google apps for almost everything that I do with my lesson plans and creating things for my students. I love being able to have it save automatically on my drive and not having to worry about saving it. Also being able to access it from anywhere is a huge plus!

Cons: I don't like that we can't change the margins with Google Sheets. I wish that it wouldn't download a pdf before printing.
So far that is the only thing that I find that I don't like.

Overall: It saves automatically and you can access from anywhere after logging into your account.

Pros: As my title says, Google sheets are web-based version of regular sheets program, You can manipulate your sheets online and have google save your documents to your Google Drive, making your Sheets available on the go and anywhere on the world. I love the fact that multiple people can connect to one sheet and work on it together, sometimes this is a must and i believe that lot's of people are using this option already. I dont have to mention that it's FREE.

Cons: Google Sheets can be considered a lite version of this software, therefore there is not that many advanced options like in convenient apps as is Excel, Other then that Google Sheets are perfect

Overall: I use it daily to track all my work, work with my spreadhseet tables and share them with my Firends and collegues.

Pros: Remember back in time when people had to get a copy of Microsoft Office some other way for free. Well we don't have to do that anymore because Google Sheet is free and it is only one sign up away. What makes this product great is the ability to share and work on a spreadsheet together with your team members, friends or coworkers. The format is simple and easy to use and no crazy menu.

Cons: This is free, therefore, there are limited features that makes things easily accessible and save time Google Sheet still has all the functions but it requires extra steps. There are some issues with privacy where Google is collecting data but hey its free.

Overall: I'm still using this because I can access it anytime and I'm not required to bring a usb or email it to myself when I'm working outside.

Pros: The strong collaboration tools that Sheets provides is it's single biggest pro. Sharing and permission control is easy and intuitive. It also helps that the sheets created on this are available anywhere, including my phone.

Cons: For complex pivot tables, etc. I still go to Excel as running this on Sheets can tend to be slow and I have not even explored the in-depth functionalities in Sheets as the idea of doing such complex things on the cloud with an internet connection seems like it would be really slow.

Overall: Whenever I have to create a spreadsheet I want to share with someone to collaborate and does not have in-depth data analysis, Google Sheets is my go to as the collaboration mechanisms are just so easy and strong. The detailed version tracking, ability to add comments and even chat with others right there are a great plus

Pros: Honestly, without Google Sheets my daily work would be a lot harder. Some people may need and use it on a deeper level at work, but I think no matter what you require it for it is a tremendous product. We use many different software products to organize our workflow and recruiting processes, but I couldn't do it without my standard Google Sheet that I keep updated every day. It allows me to have a one spot overview of everything that is going on, without having to click through various funnels.
Additionally it has been very useful in matters of Accounting and any form of structured comparison and overview needed for work.
I have used Google Sheets for many years in various jobs and couldn't imagine a better tool.

It does almost everything that you would expect spreadsheet products to do.

Pros: Very easy to use for the most common functions used in the most common ways. You can quickly get things done in very intuitive ways as long as what you are doing is what most other people do. Cheaper then Microsoft especially when part of a suite of apps for your whole team.

Cons: When you are trying to do something slightly different then what most people do, you will find that customizing or tweaking charts and graphs is not easy to do. Complex spreadsheets that your finance and data team expect become unwieldy so you may find some teams spending on Excel for specific functions.

Overall: Cost effective standard for teams to share spreadsheets. The majority of our employees' spreadsheet needs are handled easily and quickly in Sheets. Very easy to use, so new employees can get up to speed quickly.

Pros: This app through Google has given our company the ability to share our spreadsheets around and allow for edits from every department. This may even surpass Microsoft Excel in my books because of the ease of use and the shareability of our files.

Cons: There are some more advanced functionalities that are either much more difficult to accomplish or not possible at all. This is expected with this spreadsheet program though especially when it is essentially a "light" version of Microsoft Excel. But overall this is still an A++ in my books.

Overall: This program makes my job so much easier and has amazed my coworkers. When we used to send 100's of files back and forth with different changes things would get disorganized and mistakes would be made, but this program has helped streamline our work and avoid error with ease.

Pros: This software is exactly like Excel except for FREE! Which is awesome. I use the same types of functions I do in excel that I do in google sheets. I like that it is similar because I have taken multiple excel classes and can use them in google sheets. I also like how you can invite other people to edit/view AND see if there are other users in the same excel sheet. Also like how it is in the cloud so I can access it from multiple devices if I wanted to and it saves in real time so if my computer crashes when I'm in the middle of working in it, I won't have a panic attack.

Cons: There is nothing not to like about this software, it is the exact same thing as excel except for free.

Pros: My favorite thing about this software is how easy it is to access, use, and share. I never got into excel, and essentially grew up learning spreadsheets on Google Sheets. I have never ever come across something I couldn't do with the software, and everything that I don't know is easy to find with a quick Google search.

While it takes some time to understand and learn some functions, I have dealt with HUGE (1000's or rows) spreadsheets and it always handles it well and allows me to make some really dynamic calculations which is my main use for it.

Cons: I suppose that some people who are much more technical might find this lacking when compared to Excel functions, but I certainly don't.

Overall: This allows easy access to spreadsheets that I can share and collaborate on with no problem at all. It also makes it extremely easy to make dynamic spreadsheets that allow me to calculate a lot of things related to work without having to draw up a new formula every time.

Being able to build a sheet relating various cells to each other, then just change a few key variables to watch the outcome change is awesome. I couldn't live without it as it lets me run many different scenarios very easily.

Pros: Google sheets functions exactly the same as Windows Excel... without the bloat! The best thing about sheets is that you'll never lose information due to accidentally closing the app. This was something that I struggled with in the past. I would accidentally close an excel spreadsheet and if it didn't autosave, I'd have to start again from scratch. Google Sheets automatically saves as you type data in. You can do a search for keywords on every spreadsheet. This saves me time because I am able to get back to a spreadsheet that I was working on by typing one word and clicking open.

Cons: There is nothing that I dislike about Google Sheets. It is a perfect application and Google does an excellent job of keeping up with updates.

Pros: As someone with lots of their time spent doing data entry, Google Sheets is invaluable. Using the cloud-based storage, you can work on your spreadsheets from virtually anywhere with an internet connection. It also makes collaborative work a breeze, updating your spreadsheet in real time. Overall, it is not only an excellent alternative to Excel, it could even be considered a replacement.

Cons: Some features of Excel and specific formatting is different in Google Sheets. This is to be expected with different software, however, it would be very handy if there were at least some options to mimic it.

As it is free, Sheets is the quintessential replacement for anyone on a budget looking to organize.

Pros: All of the necessary features used in Excel are offered in this app. Very functional and add-ons do exist for more advanced functions not offered directly from sheets. It's cloud based so there's no need to worry about storing the data on a thumbdrive. This also means you can access it on any device you have access to your Google account. Sheets allows you to enter formulas (including vlookups) and pivot tables. Another amazing feature is that you can share and edit your sheet with other google users.

Cons: Though the software is accessible from any device, certain features are excluded from the phone app. For instance, you may construct a pivot table from a laptop, but you can only view the table from your phone's app.

Pros: I like having the ability to access Microsoft Excel and Word for free. I prefer Mac products such as "Pages" and "Numbers" for personal use. However, I must work with Excel and Word every day for my job, so this is a really great software which allows me to use these programs without purchasing the entire Suite.

Cons: I would like if the Google Sheets allowed for more "features". For example, when you edit a Microsoft Excel in Google Sheets, you have very limited ability to do design graphs and charts and advanced formulas. You are limited to the basic functionality.

Overall: Great use for so many people. If you want full functionality and features, buy the full Microsoft Suite. Google Docs allows you to electronically share and store files such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Pros: I love that Google Sheets fits so seemlessly into the Google Drive family. Its so easy to incorporate information that correlated to a doc, presentation, etc. I use this only daily for my job.

Cons: Sometimes Google Sheets feels like it could be way more than it is. I love the simplicity, but also feel like they could make this something unique, not just another spreadsheet product. The formatting capabilities aren't always what I would like (I'm a designer, so making it look good is really important to me) and I sometimes find that the mathematical values are hard to input and change.

Cons: I cannot think of a con to list. I have exclusively been using google sheets for a few years now at home and switch back and forth at work depending on which teams I am working with. Easy to switch without any loss of features that I have noticed. I am sure for advanced users Excel is still more robust but for me it is not worth it to pay the expensive subscription when Google Sheets is super comparable.

Pros: The ease of use and sharing is what makes Google Sheets stand out in contrast to other products out there. My company uses Google Sheets on a daily basis in a collaborative setting. What makes Google Sheets compare over other products is that we are all able to edit the spreadsheets at the same time. I highly recommend Google Sheets to those out there looking for spreadsheets that need to be viewed/edited by a multitude of eyes.

Cons: What I like least about the software would be that I had not discovered it sooner! If I had used Google Sheets more in college then my knowledge of spreadsheets would have improved much more than the current level I am at now.

Pros: Google Sheets is an effective collaboration spreadsheet program. It enable me to follow in real time what my collaboration partners are contributing to a document ,within seconds after they make a contribution
It has got an effective text wrap feature which enable me to maintain cell texts in their cell ,preventing them from bleeding into another cell. It puts me under no barrier to make monthly licensing fee ,therefore it has saved me a lot of money over the last 12 month period.

Pros: One of the main advantages of this application is that it does not need to be installed on the computer, and the data is stored in the cloud. The second advantage is the ease of operation, especially if you are familiar with Microsoft Excel.

Cons: Unfortunately, Google Sheets does not have the ability to use Microsoft Excel, and I often have situations where customers or colleagues send data to Excel, and it is more convenient for me to store and process information in Google. Another drawback of the system is its excessive simplicity. I, for example, create relatively simple tables and I'm fine with them, but my colleagues are missing some of the functions that Excel has, but they are not available in Google Sheets.

Pros: Available on the Google platform for team collaboration.
Autosaving all the work for multiple users is amazing and probably my favorite feature!
If you're familiar with Excel, then the transition to Google Sheets should be fairly seamless. For features that you may be familiar with in Excel that are missing in Google Sheets, be sure to check out the add-ons. I've found many features I'm used to in Excel in an add-on. They're easy to install and easy to use.

Cons: It would be nice if basic features like add/delete rows were in the toolbar. Also, the table functionality needs more design options for us color-coded visual thinkers.

Overall: Easy collaboration with team members which autosaves multiple users at once.

Pros: The first thing you have to on your mind, this a free software. Also, the most avantage for sure, It's online... you haven't to install it in order to use it. It has a tons of tools like the popular Excel, you have all the familiar functions, macros, features and again...
One more thing, collaboration, you can share and edit in real time with your friends, coworkers, etc in the same sheet at the same time.

Cons: It's so difficult to talk about a cons of this software but If I have to say at least one, you can't use it on China because it has been blocked.

Overall: If I have to make simple or advanced calculations, I always use this software because if you have internet and a web browser, you have google sheets. It's fast and powerful

Pros: Google Sheets can't really be beaten in terms of being able to collaborate on a spreadsheet. We use it every single day in order to work on the same product at the same time, or to communicate things to parties outside of our own company.

It handles most of the things I want to do and is far more efficient in terms of ease-of-sharing than working with Excel.

Cons: I wish it was more similar to Excel, as there are often times where new users get confused about how to do basic tasks. This difference in layout is likely due to copyright-related reasons, however.

Additionally, I would like to see formulas in Google Sheets. If they already exist, then I have not been able to find them.

A good alternative to handle spreadsheets in a simple and easy way !!!

Pros: You can work offline, so that it works you need to install the Google Drive webapp for Chrome, run it and enable documents offline

The dates can be edited with the help of the calendar, a double click on a cell containing a date will be sufficient to display a miniature calendar that will serve as an assistant in case it needs to be edited.

You can embed graphics from among many options you have.

The spreadsheets are bigger and faster.

Cons: If the spreadsheet has several sheets with a lot of information, making changes can be very slow.

The relationship between these documents with Microsoft Office is not so good, you can lose formats and sometimes certain information
