### "My default spreadsheet app"

May 20, 2026

5.0

Pros

My go to replacement for Excel, the web experience has really come a long way and it's not as bloated Excel. Plus the sharing is super simple

Cons

Just the requirement to be online, a reasonable desktop app would be nice that puts all Docs/Sheets/Drive all together

### "Great tool for spreadsheet collaboration"

May 1, 2026

5.0

I absolutely love google sheets. I oversaw the finances for a pretty international group (not a business) and we were able to have individual sheets for each group in each city and connect all those in a master sheet that would consolidate the information and process it in one place.

Pros

I love that it is free and that I can access it on my phone very quickly. I love that I can control who I share it with and who can edit and who can only see. It is very easy to use and I can create formulas and eve link to other sheets in those formulas.

Cons

I think the creation of charts and visuals could be better. I think the user could have more control of that.

Switched from

When you use sheets, different people can collaborate and you have 1 unique copy. Otherwise, you have multiple copies with different people's edits. Madness.

### "Google Sheets"

July 1, 2025

3.0

Overall my experience has been good, but between the mobile issue and the fact that some formatting is only done automatically and can't be manually adjusted, the program isn't what I would like it to be

Pros

There are lots of great customization options, automated setup, and a large variety of ways to store and showcase data.

Cons

The mobile app is basically useless due to the fact that data doesn't display correctly within the intended cels - it will instead overlap with cell borders. This makes the entire spreadsheet format unusable

### "Simple, Reliable and Very Useful for Daily Business Operations"

April 22, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience has been very positive. It has helped us improve visibility of data, reduce manual work, and build useful trackers without needing expensive software. We still use it regularly because it is practical, reliable, and quick to adapt when business needs change. For day-to-day operations, it has been a very valuable tool.

Pros

What I like most is how flexible it is. We use Google Sheets for all sorts of things like tracking purchases, monitoring hire costs, invoice logs, cashflow, and general reporting. It’s easy to update, easy to share, and multiple people can work in it at the same time. It also works really well with other Google tools like Forms and Drive, which helps us keep processes simple.

Cons

When spreadsheets become very large or complicated, they can be harder to manage and sometimes slower to use. You also need to keep things organised properly, otherwise files can become messy over time. For very advanced processes, a dedicated system may be better than relying only on spreadsheets.

Alternatives considered

[Microsoft Excel](https://www.capterra.com/p/176574/Excel/)

Reason for choosing Google Sheets

We considered Microsoft Excel, but Google Sheets was a better fit for the way we work day to day. The main advantages were real-time collaboration, easy sharing, cloud access from anywhere, and no issues with different file versions being emailed around. It also works well with other Google tools we already use, which made it easier to build practical internal trackers and reporting systems.

### "Similar to Excel but More Collaborative"

May 6, 2026

5.0

Easy to use, no risk of losing work because you forgot to save, and easy to share with others to colloborate with!

Pros

I love that my work is auto-saved and viewable in real time with colleagues or other people working on the product. It is very user friendly and easy to set up with formulas being very similar to its counterpart Excel. The graphs/charts functionality is also more intutitve to set up in Sheets.

Cons

For my own uses, I love everything about it. Some people who use it in a more complex way say that it can not handle what Excel does, but I really cant speak to that.

### "Very Useful"

May 5, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have had a great experience with Google Sheets. I have used many of its features and it has helped me stay organized with my team.

Pros

I like how user-friendly Google Sheets is. It is easy to use formulas, edit cells, and share with others. It is a great tool to collaborate with others. The options for templates are endless.

Cons

I least like there is not an ai tool to help create formulas. I think adding a chat bot would be useful to enhance the user experience.

### "Made spreadsheeting enjoyable"

May 18, 2026

5.0

I went from disliking spreadsheeting, to enjoying the capabilities of Google Sheets - now making the experience enjoyable, and I'm finding more reasons to open it up for every-day activities and planning.

Pros

As it's cloud-based, and I have never liked spreadsheets in general, having real-time collaboration and integration has meant I've actually enjoyed learning all the functions and features, and having access to templates makes things easy to get going. Now with the integration of Gemini, it really pushes the ability of the platform.

Cons

Sometimes it struggles a little bit with important XLS files, but overall it does a good job of retaining the formatting, formulas etc.

### "Powerful and Collaborative Spreadsheet Tool for Everyday Use"

June 16, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Google Sheets has been extremely positive. It has become an essential tool for organizing data, tracking projects, performing calculations, and collaborating with teams. The ability to access spreadsheets from any device and work with others in real time significantly improves productivity. I particularly value the extensive formula library, ready-to-use templates, and integration with the broader Google Workspace ecosystem. Although there are some limitations when handling very large datasets, the ease of use, collaboration features, and overall reliability make Google Sheets one of the best cloud-based spreadsheet solutions available today.

Pros

What I liked most about Google Sheets is its seamless collaboration capability. Multiple users can edit, comment, and review spreadsheets in real time, making teamwork extremely efficient. The platform is easy to use, and its familiar interface allows users to become productive quickly. I also appreciate the wide range of formula calculation options that support everything from basic arithmetic to advanced data analysis. The built-in templates save time when creating budgets, project trackers, schedules, and reports. Integration with other Google Workspace applications further improves productivity. Considering the features available and the fact that it is accessible from anywhere, it offers excellent value for money.

Cons

One drawback of Google Sheets is that performance can slow down when working with very large datasets or complex formulas. Some advanced spreadsheet features available in dedicated desktop spreadsheet software are either limited or unavailable. Customer support for free users is relatively limited and often relies on community forums and online documentation. While the user interface is generally intuitive, managing extremely large workbooks can sometimes become cumbersome. Occasional formatting inconsistencies may also occur when importing files from other spreadsheet applications.

### "Great spreadsheet program, easy to use, endless possibilities!"

May 28, 2025

5.0

I've had a great experience with Google Sheets. For long distance work, and collaborating with teams. It shows real time changes, and it's easy to access online via Google Drive, incredible!

Pros

I like that it's integrated and part of Google Drive. I also appreciate the ease of sharing it with other teammates and being to collaborate at the same time. Great for working with others, and easy to follow changes made.

Cons

I haven't had a specific problem with it. The only thing I wish knew more of is how to use all the possibilities available within it, there are many possibilities and the more you know the more you can benefit, but sometimes I feel like it's difficult to learn it all.

I made the change because not everyone from my team had an apple device, and Google is quite universal as anyone can use while online. It was more accessible for the team, and it turned out to be easier to use in my opinion.

### "Google Sheets does EVERYTHING I need it to. Developed an entire payroll system, tax calculation, paystubs and all"

May 12, 2025

5.0

Overall, I have been VERY pleased with Google Sheets. I can't imagine using anything else for my sheet tasks anymore. They integrate nicely into other software, there are tons of extensions you can safely use. Again, I have developed an entire payroll system down to calculating federal taxes, tracking what is due and printing paystubs, all using Google Sheets.

Pros

I LOVE Google Sheets. I use it for a lot of my work functions. I have an entire payroll system I developed in sheets from inputting hours, to calculating pay, to calculating the federal taxes to withhold, to printing the paystubs and tracking the payroll taxes due. Google Sheets saves me the expense of Microsoft Excel and its features are just as robust and rich, and sometimes more user friendly.

Cons

I have literally nothing I don't like about Sheets. If I've ever encountered any, I don't remember them, so they must have been things that weren't so important.

Google Sheets is a super handy tool for organizing data, whether you're tracking a budget, managing a project, or planning a trip. Since it’s cloud-based, you can access your spreadsheets from pretty much anywhere.

Pros

The best part is how easy it is to collaborate—multiple people can work on the same sheet at once without any confusion. Plus, it saves automatically, so you don’t have to worry about losing your progress.

Cons

t’s not quite as powerful as Excel when it comes to advanced features like complex macros or heavy data analysis. And if your sheet gets too big or has a lot of formulas, it can slow down a bit.

### "Simple Group Spreadsheets"

March 13, 2025

It has been very helpful in tracking information personally but also making data available to the different teams I work with.

Pros

Having a spreadsheet that is so easy to use and accessible is helpful on the go but even better when working with a team. It’s just so easy for everyone on the team to have instant access to the content and data.

Cons

It doesn’t have the power of Microsoft excel and you will need to spend time searching how to do some things, or even asking other people how to do things on it.

### "A Powerful And Collaborative Spreadsheet Tool with Outstanding Value"

January 11, 2026

4.0

Google Sheets offers a user friendly interface that’s easy to learn for beginners That layout is clean and intuitive and common spreadsheet tasks are straightforward to perform and Formula calculations are reliable for everyday business and personal use and customer support through Googles help center and community forums is generally helpful though not always immediate. Its strongest advantage is collaboration making it ideal for teams that need to work together in real time. it may not replace high end spreadsheet software for advanced analytics it excels as a flexible, accessible and cost effective solution for most users..

Pros

Google Sheets its a collaboration and accessibility and Real time editing, comments, and suggestions make teamwork seamless especially for remote or cross functional teams that fact its cloud based and free for most users adds exceptional value for money I also appreciated the wide range of built in formulas , automatic saving and easy integration with other Google Workspace tools like Docs, Forms, and Drive.

Cons

The main drawback is its limitations with very large or complex datasets Compared to advanced spreadsheet tools performance can slow down when handling heavy formula calculations or large data volumes While templates are useful and that template library feels more basic than some competitors.

### "Google Sheets: Where Numbers Go to Party… and Panic"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Google Sheets is like that coworker who’s brilliant but chaotic. Amazing when it works, stressful when it doesn’t, and always keeps you slightly paranoid about what someone just deleted.

Pros

Collaboration is instant—you can watch your coworkers panic in real time. Automatically saves everything, so at least your mistakes are preserved. Formulas are powerful… when they actually work. Free and cloud-based, so your spreadsheets follow you everywhere.

Cons

When multiple people are editing the same sheet, it’s like trying to play Jenga while blindfolded. Rows move, columns vanish, and your carefully colored charts turn into abstract art. Someone deletes a formula you spent 30 minutes perfecting, and suddenly your “quarterly report” looks like a toddler’s doodle. Hundreds or thousands of rows later, you start to feel like you’re trapped in an infinite spreadsheet dungeon. Where does it end? What am I even doing with my life? That one missing row becomes a philosophical quest.

### "Excellent product for small business"

April 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google Sheets has become an integral part of my small business experience. Whether I'm tracking my schedule, figuring out my quarterly expected tax payments, or staying on top of expenses vs revenue, Google Sheets is the first tool I reach for.

Pros

As a therapist in solo private practice, having the ability to use a HIPAA compliant version of Google Sheets allows me to keep my own books and track my own schedule seamlessly. For a free produce I absolutely couldn't ask for more! The formula calculations allow for me to automate things including my quarterly expected taxes, on top of tracking my expenses and income as I go to stay prepared for tax season. The user interface couldn't be more intuitive. For those in small business who need/want to, there's a simple way to share your sheet with anyone you wish. There's a variety of templates to get you started as needed, and while I've never needed to contact customer support, I'm sure it's just as high quality as the product itself!

Cons

I wish the multiplication function were a little easier to find the first time I use it in a sheet - there's a lot of scrolling required, which is totally fine and literally the tiniest of things to dislike. The face that this is the only thing I can think of speaks volumes to the product.

### "Google Sheets Honest Review "

July 22, 2025

5.0

Overall, I use Google Sheets for personal work, like personal budget sheets, tracking expenses, etc. and I've never had an issue with it! It comes with many templates but there are some features you won't find, like you can with their competitors. I use Microsoft Excel with my job, since they provide it and there's more features included, but honestly if it wasn't provided, I would be using Google Sheets and avoid the costs of Excel. I used Google Sheets for all of my wedding planning and tracking gifts, and it worked out great! I love how you can still share the sheet between multiple people, and easily transfer your work to the mobile app, if preferred as well.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use Google Sheets, especially across Gmail accounts. It's nice that all of Google's apps are in the same spot too and most can be used on the internet, without having to download a separate application.

Cons

The only thing that I don't really like is Google Sheets doesn't have as many options as their other competitor(s), BUT the service is free of cost too, so I can't really complain that they don't have as many options/features as the competitor that is very expensive.

### "Fast, Collaborative, and Great for Everyday Use"

April 1, 2026

5.0

Google Sheets has been a dependable tool for managing data, tracking tasks, and collaborating with others in real time. It’s intuitive, lightweight, and perfect for quick analysis or shared projects. While it can struggle with very large datasets and lacks some advanced formatting options, the convenience and seamless collaboration make it an excellent choice for everyday work.

Pros

Google Sheets is easy to use, highly collaborative, and works smoothly across devices. Real‑time editing is reliable, formulas calculate quickly, and the interface is clean. Templates are helpful for quick setup, and the cloud‑based design makes sharing effortless.

Cons

Large or complex spreadsheets can slow down, and some advanced features require add‑ons. Offline functionality isn’t always consistent, and formatting options are more limited compared to full desktop spreadsheet tools.

I’ve used it for everything from project tracking and budgeting to data analysis and reporting. We followed BOMs, WIPs, and downtimes in a single location, created dashboards that alerted bottlenecks, and standardized handoffs so supervisors, planners, and finance all functioned off the same numbers without needing to follow files behind them.

Pros

Templates, pivot tables, and a wide function set enable the team to model capacity, demand, and yields easily, while version history, comments, and access controls ensure that production, QA, maintenance, and procurement stay in sync in one live spreadsheet.

Cons

Big sheets can freeze, and shared permissions must be established with care so that broken links, duplicates, or monthly rollup overwrites do not occur.
