Pros I love all the capabilities of sheets. I've learned a ton since beginning to use it, and it can honestly do everything I need it to do if I give myself time to learn and understand how it works. As a non-numbers person, I've found myself becoming more interested in how I can create formulas to easily give me the numbers I need. I use it for work, but it's even become part of my personal day-to-day planning too! Cons It can be overwhelming at times when formulas aren't working or things that seem simple become complicated. If you're patient and take the time to look up how-to's, it's great. We use google sheets for everything from keeping track of company numbers for everyone to access to employee spiffs. So this app makes easier for me. Pros The interesting thing is that you can manage your excel data anywhere. It helps in opening excel files quickly in your mobile. I love all of the color options for highlighting because I have so many different departments that need different colors and I love that I have so many. Pros We love that we can work together in a sheet without issues. That has made such a difference in our business as we collaborate across devices and in different locations. Cons It doesn't handle large spreadsheets with lots of pivot tables well. We would like to move some documents from Excel that Sheets simply can't handle currently. Pros I like the ease of collaboration - if you are working on a spreadsheet that needs to be seen and updated by multiple individuals, this is a great choice. It allows you to set the privacy settings per individual or group, making it possible to have certain people only have view permissions, while others can edit or comment. It was more efficient than having an excel spreadsheet that constantly needed to be saved as a new version. I also like it has history to see what changes have been made and by who. Cons I have noticed some small bugs that don't seem to have an intuitive solution. For example, copying and pasting can easily change the formatting and it is sometimes difficult to achieve the formatting you want. Review Source Paul S. It doesn't matter whether you are on your laptop working in a coffee shop, your work desktop, or even someone else's computer or tablet - your spreadsheets are always accessible. If you are familiar with Excel or Numbers, then Google Sheets will not be alien to you and the learning curve will certainly not be a steep one as most of the functionality is very similar, if not exactly the same. The ability to share spreadsheets with colleagues and clients is fantastic. It saves you having to email an attachment to someone who may, or may not have the same software as you. Another big plus is that you will never again lose a valuable spreadsheet. Hard drives break, laptop gets stolen, and desktop computers get taken away for repair never to be seen again. When you have your spreadsheets stored online you know that they will be there whenever you need them. Cons There is not a lot to dislike. It does what it says on the tin, and in the right hands is pretty much as powerful as its client side equivalents. One of the most things I liked about it is that I represent my statistical results and my data collection for a COVID19 study in an interactive figures, maps and charts. I feel proud how the results did come out. Pros Easy to use, manage your data, do many statistical representations, data validations and data visualization. You can also share the google share and protect a specific ranges and sheets. You also can manage the permissions to the shared persons such as who is the editor/viewer or commenters. You also can check the history of editing if you would like to see who did edit a specific cell value as well as retrieve a specific copy if you need. Cons No difficulties to use Google sheets and it is easy to to learn. From my experience, I have never faced any issues regarding Google sheets. Review Source Tyler W. I use it for doing finances, budgeting, investment analysis, etc. Pros It is free and allows me to do a majority of the functions that Excel offers. I do a lot of my calculations in Google Sheets because I can access the files from any computer. Cons It doesn't have all of the features and functions that Excel offers. Add in the complimentary proprietary equation backend, and you've really stepped up into a whole new level. Cons The propriety equation language can get a little frustrating because it's so close to Excel that I feel like all the functionality should exist. It has good functionality and is similar enough that using it isn't a complete headache. Cons It isn't Excel. Sometimes, it's so frustratingly close that you get pretty aggravated that it doesn't act like what you're used to in Excel. Build, resume, and analice data securely and fast is a powerful tool in the internet bussines. With Google Sheets you can do almost everything, but still cant build Macros or efficient develop tool. There is a huge community that build add ons for Google Sheets, there is pretty useful, but sometimes you cant find a customized free solution. Not to mention - it's great for collaboration. The whole team can see our reports and make changes all in one doc. Cons I don't really have any cons. I basically enjoy using google sheets a lot.
