Senior Systems Administrator Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "CVision Maestro Recognition Server is a fantastic product that converts scanned documents to PDF" December 12, 2017 5.0 This software very quickly and efficiently converts scanned image files to searchable PDF documents in an automated hands off manner. This saves us time and money. Pros CVision Maestro is a fast, accurate, dependable, easy to use product that automates the process of converting scanned image files/documents to searchable PDF format. We have been using the product for many years and it has greatly streamlined our processes. We have only had to reach out to tech support a handful of times and they have always been extremely efficient and quick to resolve any issue. We recently had a large unexpected conversion project that had to get done extremely quickly. Sales and tech support went above and beyond our expectations to assist us and made it possible to complete this project on time. It is pretty user friendly. Pros I really like that everything I need is in one place. I manage several different owner and Member types and make reservations for our villas and lodge and can access it all in one easy location. I really appreciate their customer service, they are easy to reach, fast and helpful! Cons Some of the features can be difficult to use. IT Manager Law Practice Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Initial demo experience was great but once we purchased the software, we discovered the limitations." December 22, 2017 2.0 We struggled through and managed to process some PDFs. I don't know if it was much more worth it than hiring a temp and having them sit there and crank out OCR PDFs using some software like eCopy PDF Pro Office or Adobe Acrobat Pro. Pros On basic PDFs, it works correctly and has an accurate OCR rate. The interface is archaic and the options are hard to understand. The manual is non-existent for explanations but otherwise if you click each option, it jumps correctly to the next tab. Cons It is limited by number of CPUs licensed. This was not apparent to us during demo and we had 12 CPUs running as it was unlimited so speed was awesome and there were no hiccups. Once we licensed, we found out that one CPU is not enough. If there are nested PDFs where one PDF contains multiple PDFs within, it will just hang as there are no CPUs licensed to tackle the PDF within the PDF, then if you license 2 CPUs, it gets hung if there is a PDF within a PDF within a PDF. Given that we work in the legal industry and we got this software specifically so we could process PDFs we received into searchable documents, these snags and gotchas are a pain. On top of all these, it will take sub PDFs and OCR and create separate files from them. It does not know how to reassemble them into the original form. We can't present that at trial. During its OCR runs, it will error without any notification as to why and the software will leave off and there is no record as to where it stopped. If I'm processing a large number of documents, either I will have to re-process everything or drill down into subfolders to find where it stopped by finding the file names. The last thing is that it can't handle both monitoring folders and batch processing at the same time. Since we are working with live data, we need to have concurrent processes so that we can work in background for old files and have it monitor so we can catch up, or else we are always playing catchup. While it is true that unlimited volume licensing is per core, we do offer the reverse - unlimited core licensing at specific annual volumes. March 10, 2020 4.0 I found that Maestro was easy to use, but ultimately we ended up switching products as it wasn't the best fit for our office. I found the reports were very helpful, but ultimately not a great fit for us. Pros I liked the access to all the reports you can pull, very helpful. Also, very easy to track bills and payments. Cons I hated reversing invoices if there was an error. Unlike other accounting software, you can't easily delete an invoice. Review Source BD Brittany D. Pros Does the job, very complete for contractors and construction pay, easy enough to use as well for end users.
